The problem with Paradis is that there was no real leader, no one that would unite the people for a purpose.
The government was decentralized, the military just did what they always did, there was no reformation, no one actually took power they just let things be, all they did was depose the nobles, install Historia as a figurehead monarch and that was it.
I will never get over the fact the military kept training people to kill titans.

Zeke isn't trustworthy, they wanted to take his power while rendering him a nonfactor because they suspected, correctly, that he would have ulterior motives. Plus, Zeke has less than a year remaining, so there's little point in keeping him alive when the power will need to be passed on very shortly. I don't see why Erwin would disagree with any of that. He wouldn't care that Historia will be sacrificed.

That sort of makes sense. The only thing the various legends of Ymir agree on is that she was granted her titan powers by some external source. If that's true, there's nothing special about the royal bloodline save for what they've inherited from her. If a non-royal like Eren makes contact with whatever she gained those abilities from, perhaps he could usurp control or develop a new founding line of his own.

That seems way too neat and happy a solution for Isayama's though, so fully I expect it would come with horrible consequences to Eren.

I think I understand why at least I feel like Eren is turning into a gary stu. It's their unique traits. Eren's will, Mikasa's strenght and Armin's mind.
