So whats in store for Yu-Gi-Oh! for 2020 seeing how VRAINS is ending very, very soon? A remake of DM with all the new extra deck support? More Duel Link shilling? More Kaiba?

Attached: Seto Kaiba.jpg (743x780, 89K)

Possibly all of these things.

Hopefully not DM Super.

Whats wrong with DM Super?

Kaz will never allow more DM. It's his story and it's done. Also, more Kaiba is always bad. His fans are cancer.

KAIBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Attached: 1536691608064.png (524x572, 691K)

DM nostalgia shilling got very sickening during the Arc-V era, we don't need it to flat out replece 3 years of an actual new series..

Attached: NOSTALGIA.png (1280x1097, 980K)

I missed when fusion and ritual are the only special snowflake that take luck to pull off

At what line does a franchise go into too much nostalgia pandering?

Why the art looks so soulless?

He could always come back, you know? Also, he was part of the production of the anime until Zexal.

>come back
>when he could be enjoying life, never ever work again, and draw marvel collab comics for fun
Just leave him be. He's not some magical cure-all for whatever issues you think the franchise has.

IDK, but it's hard to take the reigns from that guy who did Tsuritama. He's fucking great.

I wouldn't mind seeing a remake of the manga that's a lot more faithful and no filler but it would be hard to recreate the duels if you're trying to shill a new mechanic. But no sequel or anything like that. Original story ended great and should stay that way.

The bigger problems are in the game anyway, not in the anime. The anime is practically disposable.

Better than Tri's, at least.

Fuck you, Kazuki's manga was the only good thing about this whole series. If the man himself came back and did a sequel manga that ditched card games it'd be amazing, anime or not.

A remake which used Takahashi's modern artstyle and replaced the duels with tcg-accurate battles without changing the outcomes would be awesome.

No, a remake with Yugi using his Xyz boss monsters to beat Kaiba's synchro would be awesome.

Attached: yugioh-ebon-high-magician-ultra-ct13-en004-D_NQ_NP_252525-MLM25446954485_032017-F.jpg (837x1200, 192K)

>replaced the duels with tcg-accurate battles without changing the outcomes would be awesome.

Not really. It would change the charm of the manga duels, namely the insane asspulls and bullshit that Kaz wrote. Those duels were still fun to watch even if they weren't well written.

The thing is, the game is in a good state right now. More and more people keep playing and buying cards. The videogames keep making money, specially duel links. The anime is the one doing poorly

>The anime is the one doing poorly
In what, sales? DVDs literally don't matter when it's funded by the game.

>I don't like this character because they are popular
You are the biggest fucking cuck on the planet.

Just put good cards in the DVDs/BDs and the sales will increase.

I'm not saying it'd be better, I'm saying it'd also be good. I'm never for straight remakes of already great material (which is to say, the manga).

Attached: inline_pe8l0h3plv1re9oa3_1280.png (1280x858, 688K)

>pretending Yugioh is nearly as bad as the rest

Holy shit, did the Vrains thread die?

Yeah it hit bump limit

YGO isn't nearly as bad as those other ones in that regard. People have usually watched more than the original series if they actually like YGO for real.

The real "genwunners" like you say, probably aren't even into YGO at all.

>What is bump limit

Is there a card you want to see it being use in the anime? I really want to see Kaiba use this, either two of the newer Ultimate Dragons, or the ABC Dragon deck.

Attached: 1094713.jpg (311x450, 49K)

I saw Pyramid of Light in theaters, play Duel Links, and haven't seen a show past GX. I still come here to shit up these threads anyway. This is how I keep up with the franchise.

>a segment of viewers not liking it means the anime is doing poorly
Not how it works.

Attached: 1564976016325.jpg (1200x603, 96K)

Fuck you, I'm into all of these franchises and geewuner hate makes sense for Transformers, Digimon, and Pokemon. But for Yu-Gi-Oh the card game wasn't even the appeal of the original, it was the manga itself. None of the new series would stand up if you pulled away the card games, whereas the manga straight up didn't have them at the beginning. I'm not saying they're cash-grabs or anything (I'm sure they're fun if you enjoy the tcg/ocg), but you can't blame the series' original fans who didn't play the card game for feeling alienated by the fact that yu-gi-oh and the trading card game are now synonymous.

At least you're self aware that image is about you

Describe this character

Attached: Zaizen Akira.png (1280x931, 1.65M)

He wants to mate with his sister.

So you read the manga first in like 1993 back when it was just SAW, and then got mad when the anime came out or some shit? Do you think the card game stops other weeaboos from taking this franchise "seriously"?

>What is Tamers
>What is half the transformers shit in existence
>What is a video game for literal children which has several quality titles nonetheless (i.e. Explorers of the Sky)

Red Cards called De-Links which prevent Links and allowing you play like the old style with how the old fields were.

So it becomes a constant back and forth between Red vs. Blue. We'll call the series D-Links, to mirror V-Rains and because we're delinking the series altogether.

- Konami

>, but you can't blame the series' original fans who didn't play the card game for feeling alienated by the fact that yu-gi-oh and the trading card game are now synonymous.
Yu-gi-oh (anime) and the trading card game were always synonymous. The anime started with the card game and ignore the first arcs of the manga. Yugioh anime = cards games. Nostalgiafags never read the manga.

We'll have gold cards instead of red

Attached: 2020 YGO Anime Confirmed.jpg (1171x652, 65K)

Kay genwunner.

Gold Cards are trump cards/deck master.

Don't you learn anything from DB Super?

Yugioh DM: Deck Masters aka not! Commanders

DB is fun and fix many things from DBZ, though. Things like making Goku a responsible father, for once, give more screen time to secondary characters, and more adventure with less power level nonsense.

Nothing has to do with taking shit seriously. It's, like I said, a matter of being off-put by alienation
Like, imagine you read Jojo because you like Araki as an author, and then Jojo got a gatcha tie-in spinoff by a completely different mangaka about collecting stands which lacked everything that made the original good except the stands themselves.
It's not that I hate a bunch of shows I never watched, I'm just weirded out by how different they are. I was into it because I like Takahashi's manga, not because I liked Yu-Gi-Oh!.

Chances are they'll be silver/platinum cards that work as Deck Commanders.

I'll just post what I want based on my purely personal opinions because I know Konami won't do it:
>Backpedal on MR4
>New simpler summoning method, involving less cards but also being less powerful. I'm tired of episodes in VRAINS being more about monsters dancing around then fighting
>Magic-focused instead of high-tech. Including roaming monsters like the MMO arc in DM. They could have nice animations for monsters fighting outside of duels too, exploring and adventure, and the duels happen when two duelists fight each other (or when it's plot relevant). I mean, the episode where Yusaku searchs for the cyberse deck is kinda cool, as was the one where Jack realizes his burning red soul.
>MC that's neither duel-retarded (like yuma is) nor socially-retarded (like yusaku) not even just plain retarded (like yuuya). Yugi and Yusei were so good.
>MCs friends are actually enjoyable unlike everyone but Soulburner, Kusanagi and Shima in Vrains

Oh, I'm only speaking for myself. I never watched the anime, but the manga's one of my favorites.
I'll never get over the stupid artstyle shift, though.

>Nolstalgiafags never read the manga
Remember when Shonen Jump was published monthly in the US for like ten years? I do. That's how I read the Yugioh manga. That was probably the last time I read manga. I just read books now like a faggot.

*only speaking for myself, I guess

Links were a mistake.

Shaddolls were a mistake. Burning Abyss were a mistake. Nekroz were a mistake. Xyz were a mistake. Salamangreat were a mistake. Orcust were a mistake. Trickstar were a mistake. Infernoid were a mistake.

And most importantly: Blackwing were a mistake.

Xyz and Blackwings are based though but I agree with the rest.

Okay Yea Forums, rate each YGO generation Why the hell is Marik there?

>DB is fun and fix many things from DBZ, though.
Wouldn't say many.
>Things like making Goku a responsible father, for once
Point taken. It's a step up over Son "Let's send Gohan to certain death because of me not knowing about his plot-induced pacifism" Goku. Although, saying he never kissed was dumb.
>give more screen time to secondary characters,
That's what Z did, though. Goku always stood far from the action until late into an arc. It's just that secondary characters became more and more the Saiyans with time.
>and more adventure with less power level nonsense.
You didn't watch the internet go nuts over Gotekns vs Copy Vegeta, SSJ Rage Trunks and the whole ToP then.

DM really is overrated. They don't even play the game right half the time and when they play it it's so slow.

DM 2nd Half: 4/5
GX 1st Third: 2/5
GX 2nd Third: 5/5

Vrains: Dunno, haven't watched it
They're all cool designs, Stardust is annoying to play against sometimes, DM is rad, Neos is rad. Rest are ok/meh to play with.

vrains got cancelled and clearly went in production hell. 5 years straight of bad pacing, QUALITY, and characters and their plotlines getting thrown out the window. even Vrains openings are barely animated

Fuck off Crow, you should have been Akiza in Arc-V instead.

Stardust(friendship dragon)>
DM(pimping sorcerer)>
Hope(more like NOPE)>
Talker(pretty much just there)>
Odd-eyes (would've ranked higher if his neck didn't smell like yuuya's balls)>
OC donuts steel

It's was made without any regard for the tcg, and predates it, so obviously it's not going to be "right". It's a good manga, not a good Yu-Gi-Oh OCG manga.

Konami has been a slow sinking ship ever since the Kojima fiasco, think about it. Even in projects outside of video games.

>vrains got cancelled
Retard. It's ending because they can't produce two series at the same time anymore.

DM = 5D's > GX > Arc-V > ZEXAL > V-rains.

They're lying and can't even delineate between Konami and NAS.

Attached: Women would only get in the way.jpg (1280x720, 76K)

every other series launched right after another one ended you fucking faggot. with only a month of delay between a series to start airing. not fucking 6 months. vrains is the first one to get axed.

Yeah it's pretty clear they can't keep up the production you idiot. Nothing indicates it was failing commercially, because it can't.

Not him, but Konami thrives on Pro Evolution Soccer and YGO, its where a large percentage of their earnings come from. They took a big spike this year for adding Waifus to Bomberman too.

Aren't they going full damage control over some new taxation/prohibition on pachinko/slots/gambling in japan?
They did release a statement the other day saying they believe high-end consoles are the future of gaming, or some shit like that.

Gambling is illegal in Japan, Pachinko and other similar services get by it because they are considered Amusement, like a Crane Game. As long as they don't offer actual money, they're free to exist, since they only offer up prizes for money.

Essentially Japan is trying to ease up addiction problems when it comes to these, so Pachinko, Crane games, etc. Will be forced to stop scamming people, meaning more wins and less money spent, to curb them over spending and sitting there all day trying to win prizes. While also potentially adding in facial recognition to lock you out if need be. This is on top of casino regulations and Japan's move towards a cashless economy (which works against the original loophole in the first place).

the new law makes it possible for family members to force a place the ban the pachinko addicts from entering it. the situation must be way worse than we think it is for the government to pass such laws. since the government too makes a lot money of that industry too

anyone knows if this applies to cellphone gachas?

It does, but they'll probably receive less restrictions than most physical places by far. I imagine Gacha and Crane games won't receive as heavy of a regulation by comparison to Pachinko and other things.

DM=Gx=Zexal>5ds=Vrains>Arc-V
Still liked all of them though.

>Zexal 1st seaason bad
cringe meme as fuck. Arc-V starting Synchro can only lick it's shoes

Not him, but the first season was terrible. Yuma has one of the worst MC records in the entire series and was making mistakes even an actual child wouldn't be making.

I would love to see a remaster of DM undoing 4kids's changes, fixing dialog and animation.but probably never ever tho

Attached: 1515397247849.jpg (533x437, 45K)

FIrst season was great.
>Yuma can lose
So what? It's fun that he doesn't have plot shield 24/7
>Was making mistakes
Woo gee, it's almost like he was an inexperienced kid still learning from his surrounding.

First season had Arclight Family which already puts it above the entirety of Arc-V.

It's not about winning/losing, it's about not playing like an absolute dipshit. Even Jonouchi played less retarded when he first learned.

Is this your first time on Yea Forums? We notoriously shitted on that season, hell we were still shitting on it in Arc-V threads too...well when we weren't arguing over Ruris and memes that is.

Yuma gets good after like 13-15 episodes. How is that bad? By the Duel Carnival tournament he was dueling 2vs1 against Pro duelists. Some of his mistakes weren't real mistakes, he was just a doing the opposite of what Astral wanted because he was an asshole.

>lost to Tea in his first duel
>kept throwing monsters at Kaiba in DK thinking it amount to something
>that time he try to summon a fusion over level monster in his first turn in Battle City

vrains bad

He also beats Atem in order to get back his REBD at the end of BC too.

He's still far more entertaining of a duelist than Yuma. Zexal and Vrains are complete shit and barely have any good waifus either. At least Arc-V and GX had Waifus.

>one of his plot relevant mistakes was trying to OTK without checking the opponent graveyard
That is one of the most common mistakes in the game. Not reading cards and just attacking happens every day irl and videogames. Imagine getting mad at Yuma for playing like a real Yugioh casual.

>literally first duel is against someone who knows the game better
>had to stall until he pulled an out
>didn't know Battle City rules in his first Battle City duel
He's a terrible duelist, but at least use good arguments like his dependence on RNG.

>waifus
Fuck off newfag, that's not how it works.

Also Don't compare Dull-vrains to absolutely based Zexal, you pathetic arcfag.

And Yuma beats gods in order to save his friends. What is your point. He could beat Yugi any day.

>not liking Kaiba
That's some cringe right there.

Seconded.

Based.

Attached: 1466199083598.jpg (640x640, 106K)

>being obsessed with Kaiba
Yikes

>taste this shit
Get help, user.

>Yuma could beat Yugi
This is the funniest shit I've read in any YGO thread on Yea Forums in my entire life, congratulations.

I fucking hate Yuya and his egao bullshit. Worst protag, worst character of the entire franchise. His "ideology" ruined a perfectly fine season.

I was obsessed with Kaiba as a kid, went to college, took a three credit course on philisophy, learned about Nietzsche, and now I'm obsessed with figuring out how all this German nihilism got into my Japanese card game anime for kids in the first place.

Judai is the only protagonist allowed to beat Yugi.

Money, Kaiba is rich. There is your answer.
Arc-V should have been about the adventures of Shun murdering everyone, Reiji being just as keikaku, and Sawatari/Serena being cute together. Prove me wrong.

It's true tho. Not even the gods could beat the best card ever

Attached: NumberS39UtopiatheLightning-EN-Manga-ZX-NC.png (587x715, 538K)

Meant for

>best card ever
>what is horakhty, creator god of light
>effect: winrar

>he seriously thinks they wouldn't write Yugi to win the duel
>especially someone with magic fucking powers to draw whatever the fuck he wants whenever he wants

Yugi would draw Exodia or Raigeki or some shit and be done with it.

Slifer and Ra both could. Utopia isn't that special of a card, it just has a high amount of ATK, which Ra/Slifer can both surmount, especially Ra.

Not possible to prove you wrong.

Attached: 1453696077566.png (486x332, 133K)

Yuma in ZEXAL form can literally change the cards in his hand to fit the situation.
Literally creating the card you need at will at any time > Drawing the card you need

>with magic fucking powers to draw whatever the fuck he wants whenever he wants
All the main characters can do that.

Any skill < Being the king of games
You could throw yugi off a fucking cliff and he'd still win somehow.
Sorry, loser.

I don't think that any of the other protags besides maybe Yusei could beat Kaiba let alone Atem.

Atem lost to Joey and Yugi and Judai He isn't unbeatable.

You can't stop Exodia, and even then they still wouldn't write Yugi to lose these days.
Debatable, but mostly yes.

Kaiba isn't really a great duelist. He is just another pay to win pig.

My fellow Sawa/Serena poster, it's been ages, those were good times, good times. Such a shame what happened.
He probably let Joey win, Yugi is basically Atem, and Judai was a rarity which I doubt they'd do again these days.

Yusei would rip all of them apart though, he has the highest W/L Record of any protagonist, only losing once (granted he should have lost twice).

>He probably let Joey win
Atem would never do such a thing. He wanted Joey to be the best duelist since Duelist Kingdom.

>Jaden vs Kaiba
Pretty much already happened in the Kaibaman duel and he ate shit
>Yusei vs Kaiba
With stuff like Shooting Star Dragon, Quazar and Blazar, he is pretty much guaranteed to win
>Yuma vs Kaiba
Utopic ZEXAL literally wins the duel turn 1
>Yuya vs Kaiba
I don't think Kaiba can do anything against an Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon effect
>Yusaku vs Kaiba
Enacting MR4 means that a well placed Extra Link can stop Kaiba in his tracks from Extra Deck summoning and Yusaku has enough spot removal to deal with whatever he has

Kaiba sucks so much lol why do people like him?

Yeah, but we don't know the legit outcome other than Joey didn't want to just be given his Red Eyes back, and later he has it. From everything we actually know Atem is the better duelist, if only barely. For all we know Joey could have stomped him, Atem could have let him win, etc. Honestly I can't really see Joey winning based on his deck. But really there is that dichotomy between the three.

Atem/Yugi > Kaiba > Joey > Yugi/Atem if you wanna go that route.

Leave Kaiba to me

Attached: Revolver!.jpg (1907x1071, 306K)

Leave Yugi to me!

If we're gonna use the actual TCG as a means of determining things then Takeru, Emma, Aoi, Onizuka, Serena, and Ryo are all the best duelists.

Takerua and Emma by a good amount.

DM stands pretty fine as it is already, I don't think it needs a remake.

YGO video games are so bad. They are always missing cards, not properly to the end of a generation, and the AI is dogshit. They just don't allow you to experience any generation to its fullest. Which really sucks, because current YGO is pretty bad. Both anime and card game. Because of that in a way it is a franchise forever lost in time.

Now if only there was some way to Contact Fusion summon this card during the opponent's turn

The Tag Force games are good.

The TCG is only bad because it entered into its true power creep for the last for years now where its been nothing but OTK/Mill decks out the ass to a point where if you generally aren't going first, you aren't playing that round. It's boring as fuck and too many cards need to actually be outright banned and the game needs to be completely reworked, Links tried, but it's just another system that doesn't really help anything and actually effectively kills TONS of pet decks that were at least fun in their own scene. But Konami only cares about selling the newest hardest hitting cards, so people will buy more because of how strong and broken they are, rather than actually giving a fuck about the game.

The anime since Zexal has just been a glorified product placement rather than something with some actual meat to it as well. As the words of all rich ass companies say, "A product doesn't have to be good, as long as it makes money."

They had terrible gameplay

>The anime since Zexal has just been a glorified product placement
You mean 5Ds. At least Zexal didn't have Yuma shilling the card of the week at the start of every episode.

Tag Force games are the best example of bad AI in YGO games. And again, they are not the full experience card related. WC games are generally better. The main difference really being that in TF the AI is too defensive and just loses like a tard. In WC games it at least please aggressively so it is a bit more of a challenge, though still a complete brainlet.
Legacy of the Duelist is a fucking abomination.

While yes, 5Ds was still fucking fantastic until the whole sex cult shit happened. Ever since then YGO has been an outright mess. Sure Zexal had its moments, Arc-V started off great, VRains has had its moments, but overall they're all lackluster as hell.

Duelist of Roses was a fun gimmick, Forbidden Memories had decent AI, The Sacred Cards (I think that's the name, the RPG ones) were fun, Tag Force games are fun (though they have bad AI generally). Duel Links is fun and has good AI sometimes.

Duel Links is horrible. You have to farm for hours every day and you still wouldn't be able to compete with whales. It is completely pay to win. Also event exclusive cards, which adds another layer of bullshit.

>Kaz will never allow more DM
Kaz also said that GX would be the last Yugioh series. And that 5Ds would be the last Yugioh series.
If they offer him even more money, they can easily change his mind.

Something like 5d's would be good, they should stop their fucking pink gum hair protag and over futuristic ugly worlds, and stand to modern era world or abit futuristic but not too much.

Yeah its like actually buying card packs or playing Gacha. That doesn't make it terrible, just means you gotta play. Big deal.

If you really want everything go play ygopro or dueling nexus.

Yu gi oh WC 2011 on DS is probably the best yugioh game out there for me, good narration, good customisation, good decks, downside is ai are slow and sometimes dumb.

>Please love Playmaker's design

Attached: The Playmaker.jpg (900x1200, 305K)

I agree. But it just hurts me on a very deep level that it will never have all 5D's cards. And it was so close to 5D's end too.

You clearly haven't played the game in a long time, I assure you that the reality is quite different

Yeah it's too bad we didn't get zone and quasar dragon / TG cards in it. Maybe the show still didn't air these episodes when the game got released or something, could have been even better.

> Maybe the show still didn't air these episodes when the game got released or something
That's how they release YGO games to this day. But even so, even with the NDS they could have easily added them as DLC, but then didn't.

I'm still mad we never got Dank Law and his dark friends.

Cringe

When you can stream DM from anywhere what's the point of an ugly looking remake

DM remake but with the new summoning methods.

This. I want to see Kaiba and Joey and shit synchro summon.

Yugi/Marik: Xyz
Kaiba/Joey: Synchro
Pegasus/Bakura: Pendulum

All use Links of course and w/e new Summon Method.

man vrains is so shit
no one could've forseen it somehow turned out worse than arc v

I can see Kaiba using Sychno, Fusion, and Ritual.

Joey, on the other hand, would have some obscure summoning that requires some equip card and coin flips.

>dm remake
fuck that shit. just remake toei anime.

Unfortunately that is what I posted

Wrong.
VRAINS had to carry the sins of Arc-V, so they had to play it safe and boring.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA
No

>sins
That's a funny way to spell budget.

Yes, they exist. And actually there are people running emulated Nintendo servers for NDS (because they have been shut down) and you can download the DLCs from there.

At least Over the Nexus gave us fem Bruno.

I don't really mind seeing a sequel to DM as long as there is no focus on Atem and Yugi can finally be the mc. I really liked him on the movie.

>A remake of DM with all the new extra deck support?

Why do people unironically believe this?

Because this is the era of remakes.

He did designs for ZEXAL too.

Links has only accrued more and more players.

>May 10, 2017
>VRAINS was first announced on December 16, 2016. It began airing on TV Tokyo in Japan on May 10, 2017.

Because Duel Links players are stupid

These are the only DM remakes I'd ever accept.

Who is that person flanking Z-ONE in the centermost pic. They look like Roboppi.

>Links has only accrued more and more players
But, was that inertia from former years, or Links are legitimately beginner-friendly?

I don't know, I just know Links has only accrued more and more players. Personally speaking, I don't think Links are very difficult to learn. The card placement thing only ever fucks me over from extending my already long and very sufficient combos. I'll summon a monster and realize I could have kept going if I put it somewhere else. But it doesn't hurt when I've landed on a free omni-negate.

Pendulum/Extra Deck cards are the epitome of good design.

dios mio la creatura pendula de el yugioh

OERD should have just been OEPD.

Misaki, the fem Bruno and OC from Over the Nexus. Runs Watts.

I can see her sitting at the table too. Is that her alternate form at the end? The girl with the black ribbon?

Yeah, they're pretty easy to understand and most don't require building decks around them (unlike various fusion monsters and synchros) and they can be splashed into any deck and most likely work

>The girl with the black ribbon?
Nah, that's some waifu from the Tag Force games. Don't remember which one.

Pic related is FemAntinomy.

Attached: Misaki_androideWC11.jpg (256x192, 12K)

Don't know who that is, but her alternate form is literally fem Antinomy.

Nah, OEAD should have been OEPD.

Should have been released for the PSP.

Was he the best villain?

Attached: Vector_cloak.png (1361x766, 1.08M)

Every time I see some retard nigga say "the next anime should be qccurate to the cardgame!!!!!" I know these are the niggas who either don't play or pilot their 49 card dark magician turbo shit deck with no extra. Yeah, that'd make a great anime. I'm sure kids in japan are lining up to watch 24 minutes of a salamangreat slowplaying his turn and then cardsharking his opponent on rulings

Z-ONE

He said villain, not hero.

>Bakura 2.0
Nah.

Based.

This image makes smile and laugh everytime I see it.

Hopefully something along the lines of this. More Kaiba would be nice too.

This. Next main female should have tits.

I guess it fits the PV silhouette but I find it even less charming than the OEPD we got.

Believe it; bigger win rate too.

Attached: Arc-V PV.jpg (1280x720, 102K)

Yeah he fits more than raging

It's a shame they cut Odd-Eyes wings, they should have kept them. Now Odd-Eyes will be forever remembered as the Chicken Dragon.

Vector never jobbed like a bitch so I think he is a little better

Attached: Dark_Bakura_flung_to_the_wall.png (870x576, 1.01M)

Well, that's because Bakura was never good at card games. In the original manga his speciality was always tabletop RPGs.

The YGO doujin scene being dominated by fujos is a fucking shame.

>Anna, Rio and Emma
>No top tier waifus

Joey probably was blessed by RNGesus and Atem had the cheat codes off

Yugi actually cheated to make Joey win against Mai using his powers, so yeah he really wanted Joey to keep growing.

Do you think if Konami actually smart/competent, would Ygo reach the same height as Pokemon?

Pokemon's popularity has nothing to do with competence or quality. Yugioh was always better than that shit.

>Atem
I don't think he dueled Atem. He probably dueled Yugi considering how it was a friendly duel.

Yugi didn't wear his uniform like this. It was Atem.

Attached: Battle city final.jpg (480x360, 29K)

Those are good waifus but with the exception of Rio, those are barely relevant.

What a pair of sows.

Bakura beat Joey in one turn

Someone needs to pay for creating the worst season of YGO ever.

He's been flexing his writing juices a bit lately, he might be heavily involved in the new series.

And then he greenlit a movie that retconned one of the more important characters and literally pulled the pharaoh back from the back for nostalgia bucks whcih is completely against the point of the last episode where Yugi didn't need him anymore.

Well, at the very least, Odd-Eyes seems affable in the form we got, as opposed to its upgrades and counterparts.

is it really surprising? Kaiser had angsty showing fanservice scenes, that guy whose name I can't remember ran around naked on the campus and was fucking ripped, Judai had a naked wrestle scene with his pals.

Bakura made it to the Battle City finals, so it's safe to assume he's good at Duel Monsters. He also knew what Gandora was when Yugi summoned it, since he said "It's really Gandora," or something like that when he saw it, so we can assume he's knowledgeable about the game as well.

Marik was all over him that duel though.

Atem is Jonouchi's friend too.

I liked how pretty much all of his duels were him fucking with the rules.
>lol I have a special field spell that enables me to get an extra s/t zone so I don't fold immediately
>my monster's special effect is that it makes infinite monster zones

Pokemon is an absolutely golden genius idea picked up by a grubby miner who has a bad personality and probably smells bad

Yugioh is one good idea that ripped off of something that already existed, steadily built up from the ground by people who seem to switch between absolute madmen and bungling dumbos by the flip of a coin at any moment and sometimes those looking from the outside cant tell which mode is active

Did you even watch the movie? It's not like Yugi, Anzu, Jonouchi, Honda or Bakura went and dug up the Pharaoh's remains to ask him to save the world.

Yugi was against the idea of bringing the Pharaoh back the whole time, even though he missed him. He didn't even think it would work. The only one who actually wanted the Pharaoh back was Kaiba, because he was absent from the Ceremonial Duel and wanted catharsis by facing him again.

Yugi didn't need the Pharaoh in DSoD, Kaiba did.

cringe

Yeah, Bakura's duels were kino.

This. Why is kaz some kind of magic bullet? He seems like he'd rather see the franchise not be so fragile it would collapse without his involvement, which the card game side more or less accomplished.

It doesn't matter who wanted him back, him coming back at all is the problem.
Mokuba was a qt though

No.

Yu-Gi-Oh! is inherently violent and draws inspiration from various different sources, some of which are esoteric and occult. Pokemon, since its inception, has always been kind of cartoonish and has a tendency to portray its monsters as an extension of nature, like animals.

A trivia tidbit: Duel Monsters, in its debut, is described as a game where players become wizards that summon monsters and cast spells to do battle, and understanding this helps one contextualize the entire franchise better.

More often than not the designs of Pokemon are cuter and less dynamic, and because the inherent mysticism is less apparent, Pokemon are easier to market. I still don't think the general public understands that Pokemon are casting spells when they use their attacks. Seriously, think about how often someone asks how a Pokemon can do a ridiculous thing that shouldn't be biologically possible? Have you ever wondered where the pressurized water from Water Gun or Hydro Pump comes from? It's magic. They have mana points in the actual games.

Pokemon have been integrated into that universe's society from our introduction to it. In the original timeline, Duel Monsters, even at the height of its popularity, is little more than a massively popular spectator sport. A game.

ZEXAL takes things much further wherein entire wars are fought with Duel Monsters, but ZEXAL was an outlier in this regard, because Duel Monsters also created the universe in ZEXAL. ZEXAL was weird. But popular, funnily enough.

So no, I don't think Yu-Gi-Oh! will ever be the same as Pokemon. But it was, and may still be the highest selling card game in the world, and that's something.

>It doesn't matter who wanted him back, him coming back at all is the problem.
I'm not buying this. Dude comes back for like five minutes at the very end of the movie, for the last turn of a duel that was carried by Yugi and Kaiba, after Yugi had already fought his way through a Shadow Game and a duel with Japan's number one gamer with no time to rest, says absolutely nothing and then takes the Millennium Puzzle back with him to the afterlife so nothing like this can ever happen again.

It was fine. Atem was the least of DSoD's problems.

Attached: angry ghost.png (1277x695, 641K)

Honestly, I'm more upset that Cubics are complete and utter shit.

Right? I was excited for them.

This. One of the big problems of the movie is that we had too much information/scenaristic elements in a short time, I had the feeling that it went everywhere. Luckily (I guess) Kaiba was here to carry the movie and Yugi was based af

Such a cutie. It has been 8 years and my heart still hurts.

I AM GONNA FUCKING SCREAM I CAMT FUCKING BELIVE THIS SHIT AHHHHHHHHHHHH YOU GMFUCKKKKING GOLEM MUD ROBOTS FFUUUUUUCKKKKIIINNGGG SHIIITTTTTTT

that she wont appear again?

That she is not real.

Why is Pokemon so popular? Its Anime and videogames suck

Easy to understand and/or to play, family-friendly, all kind of design that are cute and/or cool enough to appeal to a larger public.
YGO is more niche, but I think that the 4Kids version is one of the reasons why YGO was famous in the West (and I speak from my personal experience)

Or those special summon effect monsters that you had to pay a huge price to summon

>saying he never kissed was dumb.
>That scene was so childish
Japanes

well, at least ygo wont share the same fate as Pokemon

Being the biggest franchise in the world?

Whats wrong with DB Super?

My autistic dream would be crossover series with episode where Yugi, Jaden and Yusei duels against Yuma, Yuya and Yusaku.
I want the original trio to beat the last 3 rejects.

>thinking they could beat chad Yuma and HOPU
>thinking Yugi and Judai wouldn't love to duel such a young yet strong duelist
>thinking Yusei would care

Something that should not have happened.

Nah, having lazy games and - oh wait

a-user, what are you talking a-about?

wow you sure posted facts supported by evidences

stay salty

Fuck you. It still hurts.

They usually get him totally wasted first.

well, 5Ds IS the last of Kaz's era

Kaz did character designs for Zexal though, he designed Yuma, Astral, Kotori, Tetsuo, Tokonosuke, Anna...
Arc-V is where he stopped getting involved altogether.

What did they mean by this?

What's with ppl wanting YGO to more down to Earth??!!

The Autism is the best part of the Series

Did Nibiru do nothing to fix that?

Funny you posted Vrains, because it's the most down to earth and also the most boring.

Hydradrives are truly Hikokubo's lowest point. They're just so bad and boring that I don't want them to be printed unlike other VRAINS archetypes.

>Aoi could've used Bubble Circle enough times to wipe off Ai's remaining life points

Basically every machine and fiend monsters in a nutshell

If Fairy Lily was used by a main character, it would've been massively popular
