True, if anything, I learned that long-running weekly series like YYH or TG are bound to fail at some point if the author doesn't take breakes every few months or so. I'll probably never start a weekly series ever again and I can only hope for his next series to follow a monthly format, with a little bit more creative freedom (if he ever gets back into drawing manga again that is)

I see people casually mention it in threads like these. It never gets its own thread, but it pops up often enough that I believe a large chunk of Yea Forums knows about it.
Frankly, I didn't like it very much when I read it, although I am due for a re-read. Coming from Ichi the Killer, I didn't expect the same sort of thing again, but I expected the same level of craft for the plot. But Homunculus failed me there. It really seemed disjointed and completely nonsensical in where it was going. There were a lot of good moments here and there, but there was a lot of trash, too. Compare that to Ichi, where I don't feel like there's a single bad bit. I really liked the actual ending, the last few pages, but the whole thing with the woman did nothing for me. I was annoyed. I didn't like it too much.
And I know I should re-read it because I'm positive that I'm wrong in some places and right in some others, but I disliked it strongly enough that I've been putting off the re-read for a couple of years now.
