Even though in all of the 3 cases listed above it isn’t as good as the original, it’s certainly an upstanding anime that’s the best representation of the Shaft style. When the anime comes to an end, it feels like you’ve known this characters for years. Every single one has a closed arc, too.

The anime was pretty good until SHAFT decided around Hana to milk the franchise by bloating the whole thing, making it boring to death.
Didn't read the LN, so maybe it is Nisio that wrote longer and longer arcs with not much stuff happening.

And SHAFT aren't the ones that wrote any of it, they were just adapting Nisio's books

In adaptating something to another medium, a director can cut and edit content that would be boring or slow. Compare for example Log Horizon S1 and S2, the first being very engaging while the second is much more boring.
Even if Owari is better and scenaristically very good, it is still slower than the first season, and Hana, Kizu and in fact most of season 2 is slow as shit.

Having read the Light Novels, the later ones are definitely less dense, if anything else. I'd probably attribute that to the fact that the characters are already established by that point, seeing as how we need to have 13 of them introduced across Bake and Nise, with only 4 really getting any tangible screen time after that. That excludes the vampire hunters and Araragi's mom, but they're not really characters we get to know all that well.

Weird, as I would have supposed that not needing to introduce characters would allow for denser writing.

The general story structure up until the point where Monogatari S2 begins revolved around the introduction of character, and their circumstance, where S2 resulted in either those problems being solved, or the character no longer being present. I won't speak on Kizu, since it's chronology, in terms of the adaptation at least, is weird, and Shaft's chosen style with it is divisive, and has been discussed, enough.
That being said, leaving Monogatri S2 and moving into Hana/Owari and onward, the only characters remaining to be addressed by this point are really Gaen, Ougi, Sodachi, and to a lesser extent, Numachi.
The fundamental issue is that each character's problems are addressed, and summarily resolved, relatively quickly, so as the series goes on, we run out of fuel to burn for the plot to throw it's smoke. This isn't really resolved until we hit Musubimonogatari, where the LN just throws an almost entirely new cast at us.

As anime-only and what I saw, it's not about the character introduction, but the way the story is told. We had 3 cat arcs and they were good I like cat, so I'm biased, whatever and in all of them the narrator was the driving force, but in Tsuki and Owari, Araragi was just there, while Ougi, Yosugi, or whoever did everything.

Whats the point? The series was good when there was romantic element to it. After Araragi and Crab were established show lost alot of its value.
The aparitions arcs arent good besides snail and shinobu. Even monkey helping the ghost girl was garbage despite monkey being second best girl after crab.
