Negima! Magister Negi Magi Vol 24

Last time; The thread was posted way late because I was eating sushi.
Negi is moving on with his training and almost all the students are accounted for, everything is coming up Springfield.

I like the fire girl and disguised girl. Fans will know who I'm talking about.

I'm new here, I want to know if the raw manga actually had ancient Greek, or if it's just something the translation did.

And I JUST get to the thread when you finish.

Nice work, thanks OP. Time to begin my re-read of magical battle panties.

He really likes getting all up in Negi's personal space, doesn't he?

Not that I've actually seen the raws, but I do know Akamatsu put an obsessive level of research into the world building. I'm pretty sure they're in the original.

Jack understands. Teen girls are just as prime as prime gets.

14 is not prime.

And Jeffrey epstein

I believe he hired someone to do all the latin for him.

>Cosmo Entelechia "the bad guys" = Save the World
>Fate "the bad guy" = Save the World
They're not wrong. No matter how many times it gets addressed in Negima or UQ Holder they only "happy end" for everyone is exactly what "the bad guys" have been trying to do. Hell, Nagi, Negi, and even everyone who ever thinks about it on the "good guy" side all agree that they shouldn't be stopping them. In the end, all they ever justify it with is
>eh, it'll all work out
or
>we're being selfish, but I love insert style of existence

In this case, "the good guys" who are "saving the world" from "the bad guys" always, 100% of the time, not only fail...it could never succeed. For salvation to occur for humanity, they'd need to create a sinless existence for all sentient life. Sinless but every single individual, and by every single individual's choice, for every single action, at every single moment, forever. It's the only way for it to work. And that's impossible. In the end, all they ever were doing was
1. Extending misery under the pretense of "making things better"
2. Destroying the planet, then the solar system, then the galaxy, then the universe from never-ending drain.

Was Ala Rubra/Ala Alba ever the good guys?
Was Cosmo Entelchia ever going to end existence?
No.

After re-reading UQ Holder and Negima, I'm MEGA DISAPPOINTED that these girls don't show up again at the end. Then, only two of the girls show up ONCE in UQ Holder, in ONE panel, walking AWAY (so all we see is their distant backs) in a recording of the past of one parallel universe.

MEGA disappointed.

I do wanna say that the anime did a way better job with the backstory of the ghost girl than the manga
youtu.be/hRf_eFIHoVk

Yes, and he lost some of his team for UQ Holder, why there's not as much latin or other languages. Negima went on research breaks all the time and we got loads of accurate ancient greek, latin, and even sanskrit.

Tosaka is a character I could do without. He never changes. And he appears A LOT. Like, frequently and constantly. For no reason. Ken tries to give him salvation with how much he keeps showing up, but nothing he ever does has any impact and he's just an asshole. They try to play it off as some bizarre psychopathic tsundere, but the "dere" is, like, 0.001% and not directed toward ANY of the main cast.

I don't like him, he's just annoying, and a poor way of building "tension" for the slave girls. Hell, we never ever find out who the slave master even was, and whoever it was never seemed to ever be putting the girls under any threat. Whatsoever.

...aaaaaaand this doesn't even come up again for, like, at least another 100 chapters except for one panel of "I never gave away this information anyway, someone just kinda stole it, but they probably already knew anyway, so this never mattered. At all."

Convenient.
But nice.

Can someone who reads UQ Holder clear things up? I've heard Chisame, Yue, Nodoka, Chachamaru and Eva as answers for who Negi ends up with in there (with pictures for at least two IIRC), which one's the right one?

Nagi ends up with Eva and Negi ends up with Chisame in the happy ending.

Actually the cat girl appears in a flashback during a fight with the Lifemaker in the bad timeline. She gets stabbed so either she got consumed or is dead.

its a shame that ako and the gun girl didnt quite get more resolution. the gun girls father is a wizard but its never really explored, and ako got good shipping but nothing is explored about her scar.

To my recollection
Chisame; Wife in the Good End
Nodoka and Yue; Partners-through-thick-and-thin-even-though-you're-evil-now
Chachamaru; His secretary in both versions. Don't think she's still working for after he's evil though
Eva; Gets with Nagi in the Good End. Main character in the Bad End, better to just read it.

The timeline splits. UQ is the timeline where Asuna is asleep, the other is the timeline where she's brought back to the present, the same timeline as Negima's ending.

In UQ timeline Negi doesn't confess to anyone, Nodoka and Yue do and he accepts them as his partners. Later on he spends some time with Eva and they kiss at one point. He becomes the Lifemaker and Nodoka and Yue are part of the group bound to him.

In Negima's timeline he confesses to Chisame at graduation. She rejects him but later on it's revealed they got married. Eva marries Nagi in this timeline, too.

That's true and I would just consider that canon for the manga as well as her backstory was never brought up.

Attached: Rakan Smile.png (557x339, 251K)

The manga didnt have ancient greek, latin, etc written out. It had it written out in kanji with furigana showing how the greek and whatever should be pronounced. Sometimes it was just a short version in katakana with the full pronunciation as the furigana.

The theme of Chao and Fates group is that both of them are trying to take a shortcut to get an easy happy ending, while negis and nagis group are into getting a happy ending with hard work and guiding people to it. Fates group is just putting the whole universe in the matrix where every single person has their own happy place. While the true ending of negima shows that negis group made paradise on earth/galaxy by hard work. thats how I see it

Well,
There are 3 timelines. Original (Chao's), Happy End (what we see at the end of Negima and get a "parallel recording" of in UQ Holder, and UQ Holder's timeline.
1. In Chao's timeline, Negi or most likely ends up with Ku-fei at some point or another. But, for that to be possible, he can't become immortal, so who knows???
2. In "Happy End" where Asuna comes back and they kill off Ialda Mage of the Beginning, Negi marries Chisame around 11 years after she rejects him the first time. Incidentally, Negi rejects Yue&Nodoka on the same day of their graduation (and 30 minutes later, Negi gets rejected by Chisame). Nagi is also shown in that timeline to marry Eva, the middle-aged human man that he is.
3. In UQ Holder timeline, where Asuna never gets to come back and is gone, Negi never marries anyone. Instead, he maps his genetic coding (since he's the last in the royal gene-pool to be able to use the Dark of Venus (thanks Arika, mom) so that Fate can create clones of him. Incidentally, Negi is shown to bang Eva who has given up on Nagi and loves Negi (though as time continues on, she's actually in love with Tota anyway) while Nagi is also killed and Negi is then possessed.
So, more simply:
Negi marries Chisame in the Happy End. Otherwise, he just bangs everyone in the normal end because he can't have offspring. Oh, and Chachamaru is his personal assistant until he dies. She gets "screwed" by him every day

Never bought it. It cut to black but it seemed like a total wrong time wrong place situation.
'Nless I had a pair of anti-shipping goggles on.

Haruna a best

usually when a scene cuts to black when a girl gets on top of a guy in the bed before a life and death situation, it means they had sex.

I don't even remember them going into a bedroom.

Attached: Z5RJCpT.jpg (553x377, 44K)

That might be how you see it, but
Negi/Nagi's "hard work" Heaven is impossible. It requires however many billions of humans/aliens/mages/demons etc. in the solar system to be flawless, guiltless, painless and perfect. All of them. Sure, they're "alive" but it's not really living, either, and impossible for Negi/Nagi to guide everyone to it. If even a single individual ever decides it's more fun to not make the perfect socialist choice, it ruins the heaven. It's therefore unsustainable and/or inherently impossible since a single defect causes failure. It also requires one of two options: immortality for everyone, or, death (at some point) for everyone. Both become unacceptable, one way or the other.
By the same token
Fate's/Ialda's Cosmo Entelechia is, as you say, "shortcut" Heaven. It's basically the Matrix. However, it IS possible, and it IS sustainable. Why? Because humanity doesn't get a say in it. It simply happens, they are unaware. The downside is relative loss of free will. sentient life in the solar system stagnates. The upside is "the best possible life that person could live" to the point of basically perfection.

And that ends up becoming the question for humans + immortality: is it worth it? Do you really want it? Do you want to be immortal, really? What happens after a few thousand years? A few million? What's the point of doing...well, ANYTHING anymore? And immortality doesn't necessarily mean "happy forever," it just means you won't die or suffer enough (physically) to die. At some point, immortality stops being "fun" and just becomes "Hell."
What we see in Negima! is that the good guys win, of course, but...we're shown the happy end for Negi-party. Not 12 billion humans. Just a claim of "...and disease and war stopped and everyone was happy, The End." For a manga story, aww how nice. For fan discussion...how drole.

negi went into evas room and they started to talk about the mission and how he might not survive. which eva got on top of him and cried. then the scene cut to black which signals implied sex. she always liked him and his dad.

Nah, it's not like I necessarily ship anyone in either of the series or any timeline, but that "memory" we see out of Eva in that chapter makes it pretty dang clear that, after a long & tearful romantic kiss acknowledging Negi's going into battle to die and won't be coming back that then continues with panels of continued gazing, Eva placing her self further onto him, zooming out, fade-to-black, scene resumes with a "full-size Eva morning after" waking up mostly naked out of bed...

...nah. Negi some 40 or 50-years-old and Eva, some 800-years-old, they definitely spent at least one night of intercourse together. It also coincides with why Eva, herself, is so surprised to hear "happy ending" Eva marries Nagi. Because she, in UQ Holder universe, gives up on Nagi (who MARRIED ARIKA AND FATHERED A SON NAMED "NEGI") and turns her love towards Negi.

Eva's got it bad for them Springfield boys...

And THIS is where I stop reading "Negima!'s" Negi Springfield as a 10-year-old boy. This is not a child MC anymore, as often as "misunderstandings" keep happening between his girls and panties.

No. Negi-sensei becomes full-on adult and mature after this point, for me. I no longer felt odd about thinking he was cool. This wasn't a child, he was allowed to be cool, now.

>Jack will never smile like that at you

The lifemaker actually gave up and didnt possess anyone when negi defeated her in the happy ending. it was at that point that she probably saw how negis plan was actually making things right. negi is about taking the grey path by accepting how bad the situation is and using that to move forward. from what i gathered sickness, poverty, and war was eradicated so people could die peacefully without regrets or wants. its only sustainable when resources are properly managed and you foster a culture of generosity.

>Chachamaru
God I wish
Best girl, Chisame a shit

it is easy to think that, but in reality he and fate are selfish kids with dangerously high magic power. they just have a sophisticated way of saying nuh uh, yuh huh

>Eva marries Nagi in this timeline, too.
Wait, what happened to Arika? Does UQ Holder ever reveal it?

no one knows what happened to negis hot mom. some of us assume that they got divorced.

>better to just read it.
Does it pick up? I dropped it for having a really rocky start a few years back.

Much thanks.

I enjoy mine.

Attached: pedestrian.jpg (373x306, 47K)

I always enjoyed how Akamatsu was so accepting of technology to help him make his manga. Negima never had pages I felt were empty.

These pages must have been absolute hell for the one who had to translate them. But jesus. Akamatsu really did take breaks for research.

>never ever find out who the slave master even was, and whoever it was never seemed to ever be putting the girls under any threat. Whatsoever
Wasn't it implied to be Rakan or an associate of his?

>LAOUTA
>LAOUTA
Wrong spell, and please girls, don't make the island fall.

Very true, I think you have the concept of the Gray Path that he was going for. I agree. Except on
Ialda "giving up." I won't say, "no that's not what happened" but it's also very possible Asuna simply succeeded in doing what absolutely everyone everywhere was saying was going to happen when the Magic-Cancel-Princess struck the Mage of the Beginning. It was how she was going to die. Unless UQ Holder eventually writes in "yes, Ialda gave up" or unless I missed something, I don't think that's what happened.
And also on
the idea of scientifically, culturally advanced humankind is sustainable...never mind the inclusion of Magicus Mundus from Mars (or perhaps the Demons/Akasha of Venus). They end up constantly talking about, "yeah, but eventually humans will invent spaceships that can leave the solar system." It's always, always addressing the idea of "sustainability" with the solution of "leave desolate, spent resources and colonize the universe." Which, in relatively minute scale, is possible and inevitable, but we come back to "immortality or death." Grant immortality, so that resources aren't a problem, and humankind gets bored (Hell). Keep death (extended lifespan or not), and no how "accepting" people become, it causes enormous pain for extremely happy, social sentient lives. On grand scale, the Heaven breaks down, and across lightyears, that Heaven becomes no better than before, where people are angry, killing, not-nice-people.

That Gray Path works...short-term. And it works...for nice people. But, it never works quickly, it never works for everyone, requires investment from everyone, and everyone must agree. EVERYONE MUST AGREE. Inherently, it CANNOT include even mildly bad people, which is basically everyone. Heck, "bad" can also simply mean "simple" or "unintelligent" people. That's quick to devolve into actions without thinking and so on and so on. It's just not possible.

>Akamatsu really did take breaks for research.
>implying
He let his assistants do all the work.

Attached: ken_wife.jpg (708x1064, 231K)

I don't think so. I know Rakan was simply the main investor in the gladiatorial games and that the slavemaster is actually a relatively nice guy to suddenly give some random, weak, human girl a 1-million-Drachma cure-all potion, and to never once ask them to do anything that ever risked their safety in any way at all, they just...get drawn in Japanese-maid-cafe outfits from now on.

>Later on he spends some time with Eva and they kiss at one point.
That's a pretty nice way to say and them they fucked.

>some of us assume that they got divorced.
That's a pretty dubious assumption. Even if they got divorced, there'd be no reason for her to not be raising Negi. I would assume she died battling the Lifemaker with Nagi.

I came here to say Nodoka is the cutest

Carry on

I will never forgive Japan for the ending of Negima. It left a sour taste in my mouth and UQ Holder hasn't done anything to cleanse it.

Top three girls, go
>Kaede
>Chachamaru
>Asakura

Attached: 1548933204044.png (662x371, 39K)

Negima lets the plot move forward, but UQ Holder has just been chapter after chapter after chapter of
>Tota = I love you! My goal is to reach space! I guess! I dunno!
>Eva = Hmm, no. But, maybe you're...? I'm unforgivable...
>Kirie = N-N-N-N-NO! I don't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *runs away* ...i do.....AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!
>Everyone is always naked! How funny! How ecchi!!!

My nigga. Though I've been in a toss-up between Asuna, Nodoka, Kaede, Chachamaru, and Ku-fei.

I don't really feel much for Yuna, Makie, Ako and the others that joined in later on though. I kinda always wished they had stayed back but it was evident that every Baka Ranger was going to be involved with Negi and Yuna had some involvement with magic.

Nice
I got into Negima after UQ Holder. I was at the part in UQ Holder where there was the first flashback to Negi. After finding out that it was a sequel I read and then loved Negima. I kind of know what's happening in UQ Holder, but after the way Negima ended and the issues you mentioned I just can't find myself reading it. Akamatsu and his staff made Negima too lovable for me to find UQ Holder as a good replacement.

Chisame
Nodoka
ChachaZero

See, I don't like how UQ Holder creates a teenaged Asian? girl who acts violent at the drop of a hat and decides to reveal she's actually Judas Iscariot, more than 2 thousand-years-old

Because everything UQ Holder did/is doing, Negima did better. From story to writing to art to setting. UQ Holder just ends up being a few chapters of "learn more about Eva's backstory" and "immortal beings are cool, right?"

I think some of the character stuff is pretty good. Kuromaru's internal struggle is some of the better stuff Ken has written,

I mean
manganelo.com/chapter/read_uq_holder_manga_online_for_free/chapter_149

The entire chapter is
>Negi lost, goes to his master for comfort in his misery
>He spends 3 months there, letting Eva tend to him
>They spend that time "living" together, not training together; he's her equal, now
>The chapter ends where he's recovered and decided to end his existence
>She's PISSED because HE'S gone, not because of any failures
>He FINALLY recognizes she's looking at him now, not Nagi, and they begin making out
>final page is embracing, kissing, fade out
>very first page of the very next chapter is morning after shot of not-loli-Eva so it's totally okay sex happened

Attached: totally just a smooch nothing else.jpg (1860x1304, 917K)

Honestly feeling pretty Mandela'd on this whole thing. It's like I'm seeing that kiss for the first time.

Attached: 1567228857317.png (481x379, 228K)

Kuromaru trying hard to
>decide if being male or female will ruin his partnership with Tota
and
>predict if being male or female will ruin his ability to be a partner with Tota
is fairly simple, but I agree, well-written...

...the first time or two he does it, trying to come to grips with the fact he's romantically in love with Tota. Not when it becomes the ONLY character trait of "zero-sex-characteristics Setsuna" and how he's nothing else.

Also, the "immortality" ends up being a joke for many of the characters not for how OP they end up being, but for those who simply regenerate because lol, like Kuromaru. He's supposed to be able to die, he's just got high-speed regen. But he's fucking atomized and just comes back in a minute or two. Or like how Jinbei has about the lowest class immortality out there with mega slow regen and he faces against the man who is so good at swordsmanship he literally ignores broken immortality rules and can even slice concepts you're having...but nah, Jinbei is using Kung Fu now, so mister swordsman can't cut him as deeply now, just little nicks.

Jinbei runs on Rakan logic, super strong Just Because.

It's fun when Jack Rakan does it, though. He's supposed to be super OP. He's Jack Rakan, the charismatic awesome huge manly man of superman super fun awesome.

That doesn't work for "idgaf" "sigh, I guess I'll say switcheroo" Jinbei the "immortal because I ate a mermaid once, so I don't age now." He's not fun to also be granted the Jack Rakan laws. Not even the Akasha "Nobles" have that, but Jinbei does for no reason.

>Because everything UQ Holder did/is doing, Negima did better.

My gripe is that I like when UQ isn't trying to be like Negima. And that's what it was like at first, people didn't like it for that reason, but I personally really did (I love Negima, but I liked the fresh start of UQ). I think Negima's influence hurts it too much. I was so disappointed when they teased Touta doing a pactio with Kuroumaru but as the minister, it would have been different and interesting, but then Touta just ends up being everyone's master. It's Negi's pactio fest 2.0, only this time no one's even used their pactio cards yet despite a huge fight happening.

It's like Ken is just putting in aspects of Negima UQ doesn't even need for the sake of it. Those loli Konoka and Setsuna clones are a good example, too. What do they contribute? Absolutely nothing.

But it was doomed from the start because Ken always intended it to be a sequel. I think that ended up influencing the direction of the writing too much even early on, so the UQ characters never got a good chance to stand on their own, since everything was the lead-up to the Negima stuff. I actually really like the UQ cast too personally, so it's frustrating.

Attached: UQ Holder! - c135 (web) - p031 [Digital-HD] [danke-Empire].jpg (200x442, 63K)

>only this time no one's even used their pactio cards yet despite a huge fight happening.
I've seen enough Shounen to know where this is going.
Jinbei just turned the tide of his battle by showing off'explaining his power. Kirie briefly showed off hers too, which I kind of liked.
Give it three more chapters and everyone will be popping off new techniques.

But that's the thing: none of their cards matter, and the other "numbers'" powers don't really matter. The story always falls back on Tota the idiot fails to fell his foe and in the last moment someone else stronger than him ends it while Eva mopes about how she doesn't deserve to be happy.

And it's a shame, too, because technically, Tota should be doing lots of cool stuff! Instead we get literally HUNDREDS of panels of him saying "grasp the word with your toes..." or him turning into a dragon looking thing and punching someone. What was the FUCKING POINT of being trained by Dana the Witch of the Rift and EXTREMELY RARE EXCEPTIONAL Noble Vampire who is actually involving herself because she's a little self-centric and bored haha, "rare?" "exceptional?" there's two other vampires that have showed up already, clearly actively involved, too, learning how to separate his white and black to do...something to fight better....somehow, but oh, also with hula hoops except not I guess...but then he's not doing anything? How he seems to be able to use Magia Erebea ezpz because haha and it's perfect for him because haha, despite dozens and dozens of chapters in Negima warning that Magia Erebea is precisely the opposite kind of magic for Tota to use, it doesn't fit him at all, but whatever.

That's UQ Holder: it's Negima's sequel because whatever. It didn't have to be, but it certainly became that.

Yue is Jason Bourne.

Attached: Ich habe mein papieren verlochen.jpg (1153x1730, 845K)

Does they ever explained how Nodoka and Yue become immortals as well in UQ timeline though?

That's what happens if you Saishoudoukin

It tells you how right there.

That page seems implied whoever become Negi's official partner will inherited his immortality as well.

Isn't that will happen to Chisame as well in the good ending then?

Don't think I've seen someone respond to a past thread yet.
Neat.

They're immortal because they're bound to Negi Ialda.

I don't think Yuna was being literal.

It doesn't.

This seems weird. There's no reason for them to suddenly become immortal like that. That's not how Pactios worked.

This was before they were bound to Negi Ialda

Official contract are supposedly different, did they ever explained how it was done?

I reread the three hour pactio because I remembered how lewd it was when reading this thread and Kirei said that if he wanted to it could easily become an official contract which in that case as they were basically having belly sex, that should give us a big hint on what it is

They can't confirm the fan theory or come up with something better, so we'll never know for certain.

Thanks for the dump. I like how Negima threads are so active while UQH is already forgotten

Does UQH still get dumped?

To Magister: how do you feel about Nodoka?
& who was your Fav girl out of all Negima harem?
& what did you feel when Chisame WON in the Original Timeline?

Rather than how it's done, what is actually the benefit of official contract compared to provisional? and how it can affect Yue and Nodoka to become immortal just like Negi?

Am I the only one who still reads and likes UQH? The MC is great and some of the girls are pretty likeable too.

Afaik they get bi monthly dumps. The threads fizzle out around 90 posts tho

A provisional pactio is a temporary powerup, an official one is permanent, I believe.
Does this ever come up as an issue?

Attached: 1565571450870.jpg (1153x1730, 595K)

I read it when I get the chance

In the true end, he never ended up with anyone. He became the very thing he fought for his entire life, a villain who destroyed the planet and is needed to be put down.

Not OP
>how do you feel about Nodoka?
She's discount Shinobu, but Yue ruined her chance though with the whole triangle thing.

>who was your Fav girl out of all Negima harem?
Chachamaru, because my robot waifu fetish.

>what did you feel when Chisame WON in the Original Timeline?
It mean Naru has won twice.

>What we see in Negima! is that the good guys win, of course, but...we're shown the happy end for Negi-party. Not 12 billion humans. Just a claim of "...and disease and war stopped and everyone was happy, The End." For a manga story, aww how nice. For fan discussion...how drole.
UQH pretty much showed that Negi really doesn't suit for policy making. He will ruin everything one way or another eventually by making decisions based on feeling instead of practicality.

oh look, it's user-kun "muh uq holder is the true end" again,

hijacking another Negima thread as usual aren't we?

the true end of Negima is axed by author himself for no real reason

>Judas Iscariot
She certainly doesn't look like a middle eastern jew, but maybe she did something to her skin?

Attached: Jackson.jpg (630x1200, 47K)

What if he is impotent, which explains why he had no child at all, and they just hugged each other the whole night?

I think this much is implicit, Ialda's final act was the save Nagi's life who otherwise should have perished with her death. Fate's reaction makes that clear.

This is why.
In his first fight with Nagi Ialda, after he punches out her heart, Yue & Nodoka get trapped in this technique. Rakan jumps in and tells it to fuck off, but fails and gets trapped, too. Then Albireo. All four of them push Negi out of the way and get sucked in instead.

In the 2nd try, Negi just goes ahead and kills Nagi Ialda and doesn't try to save him anymore, so Ialda just takes him over as well. The 4 latched souls are now immortal with Negi Ialda. It's not that they DON'T have free will, it's just being controlled by Ialda.

Attached: How Yue and Nodoka are ''immortal''.jpg (869x1305, 357K)

I wonder how will this all end. Will the new MC kill them all and free them or will he defrost Ialda and make her release them on her own will?

The "video game lives" glasses dude has already brought up some of the existential, ideological problems that come up with the whole immortality and Cosmo Entelechia thing, so for Tota to end this manga by "saving everyone" is already a failure since people have already died. For thousands of years. Thousands are dying every second. Billions are upset at some point today.

Based on what we've seen, it's most likely Tota will achieve "Negima Happy End" just without Asuna (because HE'S basically Asuna). Ialda will need to die. She can't be convinced, she's been alive since the beginning and her 1000% empathy means she experiences the feeling of everyone everywhere since forever...and that doesn't feel good. Ialda tried to save people with the whole Magicus Mundus thing, but people still acted like humans, so now it's Cosmo Entelechia or nothing. Tota either needs to agree with her and let it happen or he needs to kill her. There's nothing to convince.

By the same token, Tota isn't allowed to do "worse" than Nagi or Negi, so he can't fail in defeating Ialda (or be possessed, or let anyone be possessed). But then...why stop there? Is he allowed to stop there? He's immortal. Shouldn't he always be saving everyone, constantly? Is it excusable if he didn't know someone needed to be saved? Is it bad he isn't strong or fast or smart enough to save everyone instantly everywhere? Is he bad for not being a perfect savior...because maybe he could save MORE if he was even BETTER than before? So shouldn't he BE better?
...and why does he need to be limited to the present? Apparently time travel is possible, so why isn't he going BACK IN TIME to save people? If that's possible, isn't he BAD if he's NOT doing it? Why isn't Tota "God," making everyone, even throughout all time, instantly MAX HAPPY? Doesn't free will make people unhappy if they choose the wrong thing? Aren't humans better off without free will? Or just not existing? Or inside Cosmo Entelechia? Or or or...

>Tota will achieve "Negima Happy End" just without Asuna
But didn't he decide to save Asuna too? It would be very weird for him to leave him there alone.
From my POV, Ialda is basically another victim too, she isn't an primordial god who has lived since the beginning of time. She is just around a few hundred year old in Negima. All he needs to do is removing her power and giving her another chance to redeem herself. Without her curse, her sanity will probably come back.
As for humanity, he should just let them develop themselves naturally and observe them from afar, until they destroy themselves and see what other species will take over. Trying to save everyone will just hasten their inevitable ruination, Nagi and Negi already proved that.

Ialda, the mage of the beginning, is thousands of years old. They haven't revealed her true origins yet but she may be some kind of demihuman/god from Venus or predating even the shinso from Venus that are the villians of this arc. Also with Asuna's help Negi was able to create lasting peace in the solar system. Likely for over a hundred years.

>Ialda, the mage of the beginning, is thousands of years old.
I don't have the page right now, but I remember she herself admitted in her battle with Negi in Negima that she was hundreds of years old. "Mage of the beginning" is just her title for creating life on Mars, not on Earth. Karin is definitely a lot older than her.
>Also with Asuna's help Negi was able to create lasting peace in the solar syste
They just said it without any fact to back it up. Asuna can only help him to defeat Ialda. She is a moron who can't help him to make any good decision and thus in that timeline he would just make mistakes like in UQ Holder that ruined Earth's economic and social system.

That page happened before as I recall. Yuna was there to tell them they'd located Ialda leading to the battled with that page.

My problem with UQH is that there doesn't seem to be an overarching and ever preset villain. We see Fate being antagonistic to Touta, we saw Negialda wreak havoc, bu the stakes never felt as high as they did in Negima, like the Mahora Fest or even right now on the Mundus Magicus arc dump. There's no world discovery, no mysterious organizations to uncover, no risks to their power to be overcome, everything feels too familiar for their own good, and Touta is just less interesting than Negi in general.

No, it did not occur before. Here is the chapter in which both pages occur.

page occured before page. Yue and Nodoka were never immortals, they just looked younger than "women in their 30s" because Yuna was joking with them about how short they were and how small their breasts were. They became "immortal" when Ialda's little technique bonded them and Jack and Albireo to herself (herself eventually becoming Negi Ialda).

I mean, he probably decided to save Asuna after she pseudo appeared from inside him to hold off Ialda a little bit longer (to give us more slice-of-life free time), but that Asuna isn't real either so it's not like he's saving that Asuna. At best, "saving Asuna" just means destroying Ialda so she can wake up earlier than 100 years from her little ice crystal sleep.

No, Ialda is indeed thousands of years old. She created Magicu Mundus, which already has at least 1,300 years of history. She had been living as an all-powerful, all-empathic mage for hundreds of years prior to the point that having so many people alive and unhappy on Earth made her decide to try making Mars the magical realm where people could be happy. He little convo with her Negi battle is no indication of her exact age. Like says, it's undetermined exactly how old she is, but she's at least thousands of years old. And her empathy doesn't stop even when those experiencing those bad feeling die. It continues, she remembers it perfectly, they just keep adding up. Which is mildly hypocritical to the 40 years Negi (and Eva) spent making the world "better" before fighting her a 2nd time.

>the stakes never felt as high as they did in Negima, like the Mahora Fest or even right now on the Mundus Magicus arc dump.
Probably because Touta doesn't have messiah complex like Negi and doesn't want to save literally everyone? It's a comfy series about a guy doing his own thing.
>There's no world discovery, no mysterious organizations to uncover, no risks to their power to be overcome
There is the dude who gave Karin her immortality. He is probably very powerful and has many followers.

>No, it did not occur before. Here is the chapter in which both pages occur.
Reread the chapter. definitely happens before

>there doesn't seem to be an overarching and ever preset villain.
Ialda is honestly enough for me and I prefer the parts where its just immortals having fun.

You're an evil man. All the oldfags who read this know that this series ended up in such a terrible way, and yet you're still trying to get newfags into it... Such a despicable man, indeed. I'd suggest everybody seriously getting into this to just stop reading after the MM saga. Totally stop reading.

I think we might be talking past each other or misunderstanding things. I'll re-iterate:

The event of Yue and Nodoka speaking with Yuna occurs BEFORE the event of Yue and Nodoka being trapped by Ialda in her soul-bonding technique.
The table meeting occurs BEFORE the fight.
Yue and Nodoka are not immortals, they're 30s, when speaking with Yuna. Yue and Nodoka are immortals (bonded to Ialda) AFTER the fight on the asteroid.

That's correct as far as it goes, but when asked how they became immortals, they were pretty clearly asking if a clear reason why Nodoka and Yue hadn't aged in that page was ever given. So responding by saying it's because of Ialda is incorrect. It's possible they're confusing Nodoka and Yue's lack of aging their with being the same as their later Ialda influenced appearances, but responding with just the Ialda stuff doesn't clarify things.

I didn't believe I was. I apologize to the other user and if you if that was the perception. I'll try to clarify the answer one more time before I leave for work:

1. Yuna asked why they "hadn't aged." That was a joke; she was mocking them for looking short and small-breasted. She further joked maybe she, herself, would look like she "hadn't aged" if she made another pact with Negi as a sign of jocular jealousy for Yue's and Nodoka's more youthful appearances.

2. Nagi Ialda appears on an asteroid inside the belt between Mars and Jupiter shortly thereafter. They go to fight. Yue & Nodoka (and Jack and Albireo) get caught in a technique of Ialda's that bind those to her. This grants a sort of "immortality" to them, so long as Ialda lives.

3. 40 years later after that 1st fight with Ialda, Negi returns to fight Nagi Ialda. He succeeds in killing Nagi this time...but Ialda simply transfers herself to Negi as the next host, now becoming Negi Ialda. Yue & Nodoka, the immortally bonded souls to Ialda, are now bonded to "Negi" Ialda.

Oh, fuck off.

I remember that maid, how much was she discussed here when this chapter was released.

Homura and Shiori?

Ialda hinted at her age during the flashback when Negi read Fate's mind. Was when she asked who Nagi was and Primum answered, dismissive. Ialda countered with humans always moving forward, said something about having 2600 years of.. misery? Some kind of negative emotion to attest to it. She is AT LEAST close to 3000 years old. Or was in Negima. Who knows what UQ Holder will change.

But we've done more talking about UQ Holder in this thread alone.

It's funny how much insight Rakan had to see who Negi was gonna declare/marry in the future

>true end
user, they're all true ends

Chiko*Tan was a Freiza's clone or what?

So the children of the royal family all were born with different abilities.
That means that Asuna's children could have been born with some amazing gift too?

Maybe they might even be good at hula hoop.

Doesn't Arika just use her's to slap Nagi's shit?

Venus/demon world arc when?

Now that I notice, some user said Negi's party pulled SSR artifacts out of the pactio's gacha, but Setsuna's daggers seems very lackluster, like she got an SR at most (maybe because she's gay?).

Time for next thread is coming up so please save your comments til then or sage them if you feel the need.
I really don't want two threads up at once.

Negi really is supposed to be the genius capable of saving the solar system alongside his friends. Negi lost sight of doing the right thing for everyone in the uq holder timeline. Instead his obsession with his father blinded him. This much is explicit in the manga.

Evangeline
Yue
Chisame

it's a proof of how well liked is this manga here, you don't need to feel bad for that.
