Why else would he send her to a human village and only come pick her up once she matured? I find it interesting that she's a deconstruction of the Yamato Nadeshiko archetype. She was a 10/10 in both looks, smarts and mannerism, but was also scarily powerful and sadly couldn't act on her desires and get herself a good husbando because she was loyal to her duty.
