I want PV

She's the saberface of this series.

*unzips*

I don't know, but I'm not complaining about it. Someone clearly wants to see lots of Gray blowjob doujins on staff.

Not yet. They say it is going to be released right after Case Files ep 10 so 2 hours from now.

Hm, maybe the thread will be more lively today.

There's a Babylonia thread right now (it was made when they revealed the new key visual) so people might post in that thread too

So will the anime ever show how he met up with Grey?
I know there was some cult that thought she was Arturia and tried to put her soul into her or some shit but that's only because of these threads.

Nope. Gray's backstory is in vol 6&7. The anime only covers vol 4&5

they better have a scene where leonidas gets honki and flames shoot out of his head

If they make a new season, yeah.

Is this 1 cour or 2 cour?

1 cour, ep 13 will be the last episode

1 cour as far we know. There is more stuff to adapt though.

Thanks anons

WAVER VELVETO

>Into the trash you go

>All that CGI

Not only more stuff but the thing they are setting up this episodes will not even be resolved.

Literally the final boss will be revealed and he will escape to be resolved in a future arc.

It's pretty decent CGI though to make dynamic shots though. Even the monsters are actually drawn, which is surprising. They have thrown a lot of money here and it shows.

Designs look like absolute SHIT. Also cgi already.

It's pretty fucking distracting if they constantly keep switching between one and the other.

That's nowhere near as distracting as to what ufotable does with CGI.

>Designs look like absolute SHIT
Takeuchi is the Lead Character Designer for the anime, what do you expect.

Ufotable's is perfectly integrated. The lightshow is part of the animation and the characters don't suddenly turn into 3D static robots because there is a dynamic camera movement. This is like an art-style change in the middle of the chapter that serves no purpose except using computers to make up for the lack of talented animators to pull that off in the timetable.

Absolutely disgusting, I hate that man.

The only 3DCGI characters here were background characters in a very quick blurred montage. You are overreacting quite a bit when ufotable had an entire character in 3D with Lancelot in Zero. And it looked alright at best.

Attached: ED38fONVAAA_thZ.jpg (1920x1080, 431K)

So how is Gray related to arthur again? Is she a direct descendant meaning Mordred magic dicked a woman at some point before camlaan or is she simply a distant bloodline relation to the pendragons?

Not clear but Morgan is involved.

Nice tiddies

They didn't mask out Ishtar's bow when that rock clearly falls infront of it, for this transgression I have to give Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia a 0/10.

Oh right morgause is arthur's half-sister so all her children are related to him(well, her in fate) as well

It's out.

>and it looked alright at best
Are you fucking high, Berserker in Zero was quite possibly the best and most clever usage of CGI I've ever seen on a character in this industry, to the point where having him in 2D would have been a goddamn downgrade.

Gray is so cute

He had times were his movements were super clunky and unnatural due to him being in 3DCGI. He was much better when the fog disappeared.

>zero fags actually believe this

Nothing new here.

Attached: lm101.png (1920x1080, 1.33M)

Nothing personal daugher, the Root and Chaldeas are more important for Humanity.

Leonidas where the FUCK are your muscles?

Those eyes are quite impressive actually.

They're too strong and fuck you up though like he said later.

Yeah high tier Noble Colors are not a thing for humans to handle freely. The same happened to Ophelia in FGO.

>FGO

Attached: 1406691949753.png (384x445, 177K)

It's a good example though and it's about a not gacha related character with a Jewel rank Mystic Eye.

Attached: Screenshot_20180722-190634.png (1920x1080, 810K)

First she's saber, now she's Mordred!

Motherfucking Shiki. Go read Tsukihime.

Fuck cliffhangers. Someone tell me who killed her please

If Gilgamesh is immune to the curses of the grail mud, how was he instantly killed by the Shadow in Heaven's Feel?

Yeah but hat's even worse, that's Rainbow. Ryougi sure got it easy right?

It was Madame Peacock in the parlor with a candlestick

Attached: whisper aik.png (1280x720, 1.54M)

Because the grail mud and the Shadow aren't really the same thing. Once you add Imaginary Numbers to the Grail curse equation, Servants are fucked. It's literally the worse possible combo, an imaginary monster that can eat people and convert them into mana in an instant.

Heartless mindfucked/manipulated Karabo into doing it.

Why would imaginary numbers be relevant to Gil? He's incarnated in FSN. He's got a body of flesh and blood.

So you can imagine how cute her pussy is.

Thanks

He is still a Servant and needs magical energy to exist. Even while incarnated he still counts as a Heroic Spirit, he just has flesh now. And the Shadow doesn't care about that, it can also eat normal living people just fine.

>He is still a Servant and needs magical energy to exist. Even while incarnated he still counts as a Heroic Spirit, he just has flesh now
Then what's the point? Isn't the whole point of incarnating in a body to not need mana to live?

Too lewd

There is a reason why Kotomine had those orphans in the basament. It was all for Gilgamesh nourishment. It's implied it's just easier to mantain once incarnated, but it's not a real resurrection of the dead soul. For that you would need the complete Third Magic.

For the record, in Nasuverse a person consists of three parts: the body, the mind, and the soul/spirit. In Gil's case he gained a body, but he would still be missing the mind. Of course combining all three of them successfully would be the Third Magic but he didn't even have all the required parts to begin with.

>There is a reason why Kotomine had those orphans in the basament. It was all for Gilgamesh nourishment.
He didn't actually need those, you know

Rita's VA is Hikasa Yoko.

It was just in case. He needed nourishment anyway.

So why she looks like the Alien Priestess?

Me in the far back.

Because she is not really there, that's a spiritual double that she is controlling from some other place.

Basically Touko scared her shitless out of the train and this is how she does business now.

Actually Marisbilly is one of Luxu's vessel.

I actually can see that happening.

I'm liking the show but it all seems to low effort in terms of animation quality.

It's fine, not high budget but fine.

motherfucking Kayneth El Melon Archibaldo in the house tonight

I never thought we'd hear waga aru ji speak again

Attached: 1563107828838.jpg (640x427, 30K)

That's foul, DSL really did my nigga dirty like that

Why does he look evil, here? Didn't he build Chaldea to save the world?

Because he is super shady and performed cruel experiment on children.

There is also the thing that everyone expects him to be the final boss of FGO Part 2.

>Didn't he build Chaldea to save the world?
>falling for Money Bills' lies

Attached: 1566339506432.png (159x196, 87K)

Shoestring budget.

Save world, become god, same difference.

He also killed like several hundred orphans while testing out rayshifting and demi-servant transformation in Chaldea basement.

Mages have no morality, but Marisberry is hinted to be even worse than normal in some ways. Never trust a magus ever.

What's Yvette's part in this?

They will probably have a decent looking fight by the end. These episodes in the middle are the ones who get the worse staff in these not high budget anime.

Do you want to know?

She is cooperating with Heartless.

Sexy glasses man.

Heartless lends her a shitload of money for the auction to keep anyone else from getting Karabo's mystic eyes.

>Mages
>moral
Pick one and only one please.

Attached: [Funimation] Fate Grand Order Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia - 00 [1080p].mkv_snapshot_15.21.626.png (1920x1080, 2.01M)

Shop in user beside the frog.

While magi are not moral in a nice way. I do remember Rin in FSN saying that in order to be a proper magus you need to have what it takes to sacrifice yourself for something bigger than yourself(and also something about some "good"?). It was about how even if he had magic circuits Shinji wouldn't be a good magus.

How is it that there's only been one HGW in the FGO timeline? What happened to the first four that should have occurred by that point? Did the Grail just need an extra 200 years to get set up this time?

And here I thought she was just there to look cute.

Attached: vlcsnap-2019-07-20-20h11m09s396.png (1280x720, 1.09M)

I actually never think about it like that
That's pretty awesome desu

The anime cuts out her telling Waver that she's a spy from the neutral faction of the clocktower. Of spies usually don't tell you that they are a spy, but she's a suspicious character in the entire arc.

I have an idea. What if Narita uses Ciel to deal with Francesca and stop her reincarnation cycle? I don't think any currently known participants can kill her hard enough to do that.

Yeah because an ideal magus would put his future descendants before himself. One who aspires to be a proper magus should distance himself for everything just for the sake of something that he is not even going to achieve himself (and just to give his descendants a chance).

The problem is that ultimately mages are humans and they are prone to have very human failings, so they become embroiled in the paradox and politics that being a mage entails. It's quite interesting actually.

I hope someone includes the frog in the next Maou-sama Retry collage edit.

With the double Flat thing, I think he wants to write a Prelati duo vs Flat duo fight.

>in order to be a proper magus you need to have what it takes to sacrifice yourself for something bigger than yourself
AKA have root autism. She's right though.

>How is there only one
Because grail wars started in 2005 in that world
>What happened to the others??
Grail war started in 2005, and there was no magus backstabbing and three families and bullshit. It was treated a lot more like a science experiment by mages or something. Roman is suprised to hear how different Waver's war was.

If it started in 2005, then obviously the other four didn't happen. And since there was no great fire and no third grail war where Tohsaka family married with the Edelfelt family in secret. Rin, Sakura, and Shirou don't exist in this world.

World-lines are all about minor differences, its not that "Well its the exact same in all ways but it just happened a bit later". Fuyuki is a good location for a grail war, the theory of grail wars is floated around in most world-lines, so it goes to show that even if the situation changes the thoughts still end up relatively the same. No one ever said the first four grail wars or any grail wars happen in all world-lines.

I don't know why people always forget about this.

Attached: 1552223265827.jpg (1280x720, 55K)

No idea, my headcanon is that maybe they wanted for a grail with no chance of failure and it took the 3 great families 200 years to make it.
Then you got Marisbilly who barged in unannounced with Solomon and massacred everyone.

We don't know, it's probably something it will be clarified once we get an actual dictionary of FGO.

No, read mats. Gil's independent action in his profile in FSN says "Can indefinitely stay in the world, requires no mana ever, will never require mana unless he needs to use his NP".

People make up a lot, but Kotomine didn't keep the basement orphans for Gil. It was more of a side project for him to revel in his sadism, that ended up also being productive at the same time. He just enjoyed it.

Mats also say that between Zero and FSN GIlgamesh used a youth potion to revert back to Ko-Gil, and pissed around the entire time inbetween the war as a kid, probably traveling. He only reverted back to normal form right before the war.

The orphans were for Gil, but Gil states it wasn't actually needed.

So then why did Gil accept them?

>killed Kotomine and burned his body
>summoned Solomon (a servant that's obedient to a fault and overpowered) so he was like 2032% smarter than Tokiomi who summoned an all powerful asshole who got him killed
Mars billy is fucking dangerous

Tokiomi wouldn't have gotten killed by Gil if Kotomine didn't tell Gil about how Tokiomi planned to betray him.

I would win the grail war and then wish FGO out of existence completely.

Why does Gray x Waver pairing make me feel giddy? There's something about a younger girl taking care for her clumsy sensei that my brain likes.

>angry manjew just interprets it as "kill humanity because that = no more FGO"

congrats dipshit, better hope your grail isn't tainted

Waver is for DUDE

Worth it.

Why not? Having extra magical energy is nice

>Ufotable's is perfectly integrated
In Zero maybe.
In UBW it's trash past the first episode.

Because he's Gil

"……? Then it should not be possible for you to stay in this world. If your Master cannot support a familiar like you, you should be dried up along with your Master."

"That depends on how one does it. Magi make up lack of a Magic Circuit with knowledge.
In that regard, my Master was exceptional."

…'Was'?
Then his Master is gone now…?
No, his Master is Shinji.
The fact that he, the man who would not obey anyone, obeyed Shinji is the proof of that.
"Yes. It is only natural to take away from others if you cannot supply it yourself.
But to be honest, I did not need to do such a thing. I am the only Servant that the Holy Grail poured on. I have already completed the incarnation ten years ago."

Shame Waver is gay

>tries to peddle her howdunit without first establishing a whydunit
absolutely disgraceful detective work, MISS Adashino

Too bad Waver only likes men.

Does the snake bitch piss off anyone else? I think it's the glasses and the smug look but I'd choke her to death t b h senpai

LOOK AT THIS DUDES

You mean shamefur dispray

Attached: 1351569115009.jpg (319x480, 140K)

The man is probably one of the most competent and smartest Lord in the Association, he always has back up for his plans if one doesn't work.
>What if rayshift doesn't work on humans?
>I know! Why not use a True Ancestor?
>get True Ancestor to work for him.

Attached: [Funimation] Fate Grand Order Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia - 00 [1080p].mkv_snapshot_04.10.935.png (1920x1080, 1.79M)

She is kind of sexy though.

I STILL want to know what servants were summoned in the first three HGWs (we already know about the third Lancer and Assassin, and Angry Manjew obviously).

>no Waver x Adashino doujin where they try to outsmart each other and then have sex
Japan, what the fuck are you doing.

How can a True Ancestor become a heroic spirit?

>True Ancestor also happens to be a megane waifu bait that actually loves horse cock
cannot make this shit up

Yeah she being the sister of the main antagonist probably means nothing. I kind of like they mentioned that here, in the last volume there was a lot of stuff going on and it felt a bit too much.

I mean the whole Heartless and Adashino Kurou timeslip via fairyland was already a lot to take.

I'm not the only one that mutes the sound when Gray goes full engrish? Japan should have learned from Psycho Pass, if you do it badly its cringe as fuck but if you get actual english speaking actors it easily boosts the quality.

It was cringy when she did it the first time, after that I got immune.

>not liking grave for you
Absolutely shit fucking taste. Get out and never post in these threads ever again.

Attached: 1406979571140.jpg (600x600, 25K)

I read on here once that Moneybill's plan will somehow give away what the 4th Magic does, is this true?

Can you spoil me? What happens to her when the crew confronts Heartless?

Gray for (me)!

So why can she do what she claimed Karabo did? Why couldn't she be the murderer too?

GRAVE FOR (you)

>waifubait
>only talks about her husband

>making olga carry the head in
what the fuck lady

She should be glad she isn't getting fucking incinerated.

Attached: 1546882864716.jpg (557x800, 328K)

What double Flat?

Damn we got double Manaka, double Perlati and now double Flat?

How much of Olga's fate was all a part of Marisbilly's plan?

This herc?

Hippo-chan is really cute.

Dumas basically turned Jack into another Flat. He can't see the same stuff Flat does but he can use his magecraft.

>magus
>saving anything but themself
M-m-muh root.

Now that was just mean.

Moneybill's even worse.

>m-m-muh root in muh family's special snowflake way

Thanks, I haven't read the latest FSF, not sure if that's even fully translated yet either.

All families have their own way though. The Tohsaka wanted to do it by learning extreme kung fu before learning about the HGW.

Which magus family has the dumbest path to the root?

But they aren't above using the grail to reach the root right? Moneybill's told the grail to fuck off and give him money.

CF secondary here, what the fuck is pic related? Another fairy?

Attached: vlcsnap-2019-09-07-21h02m20s432.png (1280x720, 982K)

So this mystic eyes bullshit. Is this just another asspull? Why weren't mystic eyes a thing in any of the previous fate series? Why is it just showing up in Case Files?

>tertiaries

That's Rita Rozay-en.

Nigger what? Did you miss Tsukihime and KnK entirely? Hell even Illya has mystic eyes in FSN.

Manager
A phantom woman who was initially reflected only in gray eyes. A white woman surrounded by crimson roses. It is a shadow left behind by the manager of the Demon Collection Train, and it rarely appears in front of the Demon Collection Train staff, including Rodin.
The only existence that can remove the magical eye, which is said to be difficult, with technology similar to psychic surgery.

Fact: wishing for something simple like money is the smartest way to use the Grail

user, I

Medusa has Mystic Eyes. Illya has imitation Mystic Eyes.

And then Kara no Kyoukai and Tsukihime have Mystic Eyes in abundance.

I watched only F/Z, UBW, Apocrypha and Heaven's feel. None of them had mystic eyes.

Rita is manager
This lady is the deputy

Man Gray is the best thing in this anime.

El Mellon without Gray: 4/10
El Mellon with Gray: 7/10

Rita Rozay-En, a Dead Apostle, 15th of the 27 Dead Apostle Ancestors in Tsukihime world.
What appeared in this episode is only a shadow she's using after Aozaki Touko scared her shitless some years ago and has been hiding from her since.

One of the sexiest lips.

Go read the VN kid

As far I remember this is probably called deputy because this is Rita's shadow. Rita ran away from the train because of Touko and left this shadow in her place.

I was under the impression the petrification was her Noble Phantasm, considering mystic eyes were never fucking mentioned before so no shit I didn't know what that was.

>Man Gray

Because she is a mini whore.

Gray only has feelings for her teacher. Nothing is more pure.

I never understand what time line this shit is going on.

In the VN she literally has a skill called Mystic Eyes A+ and even in the movie Rin says they are the Mystic Eyes of Petrification.

Well, it was Lugh rather than Touko

I'd rather read the LN if it exists and not have to deal with VN games that are 90% text on an image.

>time line
Fuck off Nasu.

It happens a bit before F/SN.

They call it deputy because it's a spirit double left there by Rita. But that's how Rita looks (the rose gives her away).

Start learning Japanese.

It was both as a team. Anyway Touko is the one who was said to be banned, so she was the one in charge of the whole ruckus.

Also this is Touko, she is a Grand rank magus for a reason.

Touko probably went and tried to take control of the whole auction for the laughs.

Didn't read the VN if it wasn't obvious enough already. Your example reads like:
"Lancer literally says Gay bolg! Cant you tell he has the gay?"
So when rin says "mAsakAaA~~ mystic eyes of petrification?", i assumed that was a NP, considering you know how retarded NP nomenclature gets AND at the time Mystic eyes DIDNT EXIST until after i watched Case files.

And as people already said you hace Kara no Kyoukai animated and that has Mystic Eyes in the front.

>tertiary keeps embarrassing himself

This is either bait or you're just really dumb.

Attached: 1566836729252.jpg (344x459, 27K)

Wasn't Adashino's theory completely bollocks regardless of the absence of motive? How could they buy it even for a second? One would need to see into future, not just into past to pull off what she suggested.

Why Waver is so gay?

He was molested at a young age by a giant homo.

Not to mention the example she gave. She literally showed them how it's done so why couldn't she have been a suspect as well?

>Hurr read the obsolete decade old source material that explains this thing that shows up literally once in the main popular series.

He would need to know where Trisha would be yeah, but what Adashino was trying to do wasn't really to prove he was the culprit but that he has the means to do it. That's why Waver says it's a delusion. Nothing is really proven.

>complain about the existence of X
>doesn't realize that X exists in literally every other work in the same universe
Alright nice one. You've got me still replying.

I think she just put a very visible spell in place to make her example. What she said Karabo did would need bringing a past slash into the present and she obviously can't do that.

How is it obsolete if it has the answer you're looking for retard. This is why nobody likes your kind. "why don't I know about x?" "if you had read y you'd know about x" "why would I read y?"

Hurr durr.

>still replying to bait

Adashino's demonstration is just a visual example. It's not what's she's talking about. This is where the translation isn't exactly great. Karabo's past vision are of the 測定 variety meaning that they can see one of many possible fragments of the past and set it as reality. So essentially what she was saying was that Karabo set possible past of Trisha's beheading as an objective reality meaning that it was impossible for Trisha to avoid it.

>truly I have become Lord El Melloi

Still getting replies nice.
As i said above, i only watched the popular Fate series, like Zero ubw apoc and HF. You can't know X(Mystic Eyes) exists in Y(other series) when you never knew of Ys existence and X only ever is mentioned once in the main series. Therefore it's perfectly reasonable to expect Xs to be an asspull without any explanation given.
This is basic logic.

Lord El-Memeloi the 2nd

>why does a universe with MAGIC have MAGIC eyes; what is this terrible asspull

Attached: 1412224313094.jpg (251x251, 12K)

But the eyes are cleatly mystic, not magical user

God I fucking love the OP, best opening of the season for sure.

It's literally "magic eyes" (魔眼). Don't get thrown of by fan translated lingo.

Technically it could be that Waver was calling a dlusion only Adashino's belief that Karabo could bring the events from the past into existence, which turned out to be possible.

That's exactly what he was saying was a delusion. Because like Adashino said, having that ability is almost the same as having mystic eyes of death perception. Basically as long as someone has a possible past of dying, he could just look at that past and set it as reality. That ability was pure conjecture until Rita confirmed he could do that.

It was hilarious how depressed she looked.

What the fuck is these guys deal

Attached: 1567885409538.jpg (589x322, 38K)

What's the difference in "magic" as in "magic eyes," and "magic" as in "true magic?"

True magic is "魔法" and just normal magic is "魔術". The latter has a connotation of trickery/technique while the former is just straight up "magic." That's why the english translated term usually call "魔法" something like "true magic" or "sorcery."

>Why yes my path to the Root is turning myself into a frog, how could you tell?

Zoomer mage trying to reach the root by frogposting, respect

Alright, get this.
What if we got a condemned prisoner or something, right, and we killed him.
Only we put a tether or something on his soul that lets us view his soul's location.
So, like, when the World tries to reclaim his soul, we get a first person view.
We can yank on the tether as soon as we witness the soul coming into contact with the Root so it doesn't actually get sucked in.
But then at the same time, we'd get perpetual observation access to the Root and could learn all its' secrets.
Should just be an exercise in getting the timing right.
Do you think the Clock Tower would be willing to fund this research? What faculty should I apply under?

I want to laugh but this actually makes sense.

Legendary frog mask to protect against mystic eyes.

I understand that her demonstration is just a visualization. But I could not understand the mechanism that was suggested, if he could simply bring back events from the past. Maybe you correct and his Mystic Eyes work differently, but then I do not get how. Because from your explanation it may follow that he doesn't need do make a slash or anything, he just needs to use his eyes' power and the event just happens.

What kind of Magic would this path to the Root yield?

Explanation for brainlets:

>Kairbo knows where Trisha tends to sit
>When she is not there he walks in and slashes with his giant knife things where her neck is likely to be
>When the train stops he goes out, sets his eyes on the Trisha sitting inside the train and drags the slash he made earlier to the present
>Trisha gets her head cut off

Suppose a magus succeeds in their research and bores a hole to the Root. Now what?

You get to have fun and do root things.

Just making a hole to the Root isnt enough. You need to survive the trip.

The Counterforce tries to fuck him
If he survives:
>turns away from root
Gains access to true magic
>touches the root
Sublimated out of existence or some shit

What servants are those two?

She called him a nigger.

Adashino doesn't know. That's why Waver has been skeptical of her theory from the start.

You poke it with your finger and undergo a final nirvana ripoff

You need to cheat the Counter Force 1st then either:
Run away and become a new magician
Get absorbed back in the Root
Become God and be buddy with the others God(s)

No, they're usually revered / respected, sometimes feared. The fact they were able to reach the root makes them imminently respectable, lots of people try to apprentice themselves to them or seek their knowledge through other means. Some people are just really interested in the true magic / sorcery they found after touching the root. In any case, they're something like celebrities.

There is literally nothing wrong with DA research. Look at Clock Tower. Even there you can't escape "bloodlines" mafia. Mages are turbo faggots.

I can tell you've never read any of the VNs.

All magicians have a path to the Root. They don't use it is because of their own reasons. Aoko alludes to a responsibility that magicians have in Mahoyo anyway. 3 of the magics were attained as a means to the Root and 2 were achieved by making a path there and then turning back. Although Aoko shows quite clearly that the path isn't closed. There's simply no reason for her to use it. So it's not as simple as you make it.

There's a lot of "we don't even know why we're doing this anymore" going on with a a lot of magi according to her. Most can't tell if the magic or the Root is the actual goal but seeing as the vast majority is far away from either it's not something they think about on the daily. In the case of Araya reaching the Root was a means to an end, for the Einzberns it seems that the path to the root was an after effect of what they actually cared about which was the 3rd magic. The Root seems less important than what reaching it entails.

that's explain [1080p]

Magicians are bodhisattva, if we are going with the touching the root == nirvana interpretation.

Magi want to go back to the beginning die to how Goetia created the original families

An incantation in engrish is the same as a stupid shield ride to catch up a train for you?
That's exactly what I'm talking about when I say post-FGO Type Moon: it also affects the fanbase.

>3 of the magics were attained as a means to the Root
This makes no sense. By definition, Magic is something that is "impossible" on a conceptual level. It's a feat that humans are literally incapable of performing, even were they given the benefit of infinite resources. That's why you need to see the Root to learn how to do it. It's like getting hacked alchemy in FMA when you witness Truth. How can it be possible to develop a literal miracle through normal means? If that were possible, by definition it wouldn't be a miracle in the first place.

Goetia created 72 specific families. His deal is not about magi as a whole.

>this shounenesque thing doesnt count because I like it

Attached: hmmmm.jpg (611x457, 53K)

The goal isn't necessarily to become one with the root or whatever, reaching the root isn't even the end goal for a lot of magi, it's just a means to achieve something else, sometimes the entire point is just to find a path to the root, but not necessarily to walk down in it all the way, they just need a means of touching it for a ritual or something.

For most magi, they aren't nearly powerful enough or knowledgeable enough for reaching the root to be a realistic goal. That's why crests exist, and the concept of generational research is standard among magus families. Very few people have the potential to reach the root, they're the elite in the world of magi, and for them reaching the root is about how it factors into their overall plans.

It looks ok.

>shounenesque clownery

We all are clowns in here. You are in a Fate thread, damnit.

What the FUCK was Nasu thinking when he wrote this? It's complete gibberish.

Sasaki did a literal miracle just by hating shalllows really hard

>What studio should adapt Strange Fake?

Shuka so the Durarara staff can work on it

I still have hope for something decent to come out from TM.
But in a post-FGO world I doubt this will ever happen. People nowadays are content with just a token saberface doing silly saberface things.

A nonsensical Engrish chant is the apex of chuunibyou bullshit.

Duplicating some tiny fragment of the 2nd != duplicating the 2nd.

In what sense, speaking of poetry? We would need to read the original as that is a translation; however I like it. It's powerful and manages to capture Shirou's essence in a few lines.

engrish was the only problem
you can't hate chants in a series that relies on complex magecraft

riding a shield like is straight outta something you'd see in a shounen jump manga

You can get a cleaner version by taking the JP accompaniment to the Engrish then translating that back to English. Well it makes Gray's chant a lot more sensible at least.

>We would need to read the original as that is a translation
Literal english translation:

My body is made out of swords.
My blood is of iron and my heart of glass.
I have overcome countless battlefields.
Not even once retreating,
Not even once being understood.
He was always alone, intoxicated with victory in a hill of swords.
Thus, his life has no meaning.
That body was certainly made out of swords.

The same thing he was thinking when he wrote Grey's cringechant.

By your standards nothing decent has EVER come out of Type-Moon, Prototype is basically an otome game for fuck's sake.

Gray's chant was written by Sanda, not Nasu.

Everything up to Zero (including Zero) was decent imo. Minus joke projects of course.

Same shit, different asshole.

I think it's more that Zelretch probably created something like his gem sword first and then grasped the essence of the 2nd magic from it. Where grandpa Aozaki created a path and then learned about the 5th magic from partially going through it.

Don't ask me what this means in practice though. I don't have it on hand but from what I remember about the short story of the Einzbern it seemed to me that their initial magician also just grasped the 3rd magic himself without it involving the Root at any point so the path that results from it(the greater grail) is a happy coincidence.

This is some advanced baiting.

Attached: hhhhhh.gif (480x264, 1.54M)

When in doubt, just use the "bait" buzzword

>Magic is something that is "impossible" on a conceptual level.
You do know there was a lot of True Magics in the past especially in the Age of Gods right? Why do you think there only 5 left in the modern era?
Magics dies when they can be actualized by "normal" means and lose theirs mysteries, something that becomes simple is no longer special.

What should I tell you? Be happy that you got to experience something like TM; that it existed, and that nobody can't devoid you of that. Sadly though, those times sre over. If you don't like where this is going (madness), stop hurting yourself.

Also, I think aside from FGOfags, most of us here in El Melon's threads are aware of Case Files' flaws, but we just like Waver and Reines and...well yes, Gray. Does every single thing we watch have to be perfect?

What's your opinion on Strange Fake then, oh contrarian user?

>Does every single thing we watch have to be perfect?
It doesn't. But at the same time, there's nothing wrong with making fun of it either.

If we use this analogy to its limits then it's like if the Root is Nirvana and magicians are like bodhisattvas then Nasu's point about AoG magecraft is like saying that because of your average person's proximity to gods and their magecraft/mysery during the Aog "buddha-hood" was far more within reach of you average person so thinking of having to reach the root didn't occur to anyone.

As far as I'm aware, the Einzbern backstory goes like this:

The Third Magician found his Magic sometime around 0 AD. He took on some students but then suddenly vanished without a trace leaving them all supremely blueballed. The students were pretty butthurt because they didn't want HF for themselves, they wanted HF so they could "save" the world by casting it on everyone on the planet at once. However they were up shit creek without a paddle now that their master was AWOL because it's impossible to rediscover or learn Magic. So they figured they would just make a clone of their master and hope that the magic got cloned along with him. So they built an assembly line of homunculi (the Einzbern) and got to work.

After trying for like 1000 years, they finally built Justeaze von Einzbern. Justeaze could use HF. Yay! However it took her years to work up enough mana to save even a single person. Boo! The magi dedicated the next ~500 years to duplicating Justeaze so they could improve her model. Only they couldn't. Justeaze was a complete accident. Her existence was a miracle of the same caliber of HF itself. Eventually the maguses gave up and killed themselves, leaving the homunculi in charge of the place.

The homunculi, being flesh robots, were bound to the whole "save the world" prime directive. They couldn't give up, even after their masters abandoned them. They decided that since improving on Justeaze was impossible, they would make do with her. All she needed was a supply of functionally infinite mana, and thus roided up would be able to cast HF on the world. So they cooked up the HGW as a means of connecting Justeaze directly to the Root, which had all the mana in existence. The 1st HGW wasn't even a war. The 7 masters were meant to summon their servants and then simultaneously order them all to commit suicide and thus expose the Root. Justeaze would then automatically perform HF from within the Grail's core and save the world.

True Magic didn't exist back in the Age of Gods.

>When the civilization of mankind was still young, all magery had been True Magic. But along with the advancement of science, the number of things that "could be done" by people had increased, and in exchange, True Magic diminished. The number of remaining "True Magics" in the modern era are extremely few, only 5.

Love and friendship.

>quoting the wiki
The only reason Crimson Moon got btfo by Zelretch is because Kaleidoscope took him by surprise. The idea of "magic," conceptually, simply didn't exist back in his day.

Modern Magic is a thing that is defined by magecraft, and the rules and limitations of modern magecraft. Magic during the Age of Gods played by a fundamentally different ruleset from modern magecraft. It's comparing apples to oranges. For one, magecraft in the Age of Gods was 99% of the time divinely sourced. You had some god's backing or heritage or some other bullshit that was the source of your power. The very idea of harnessing mystery in the absence of divine aid through purely human means didn't even exist.

You didn't answer my question, what is True Magic?

Attached: [ReinForce] Fate/Grand Order ~First Order~ (BDRip 1920x1080 x264 FLAC).mkv_snapshot_01.01.39.570.p (1920x1080, 2.46M)

Or actually it's more that having gods around you and living according to their rules made having to reach enlightenment yourself redundant.(as per the analogy)

>contrarian
That's another buzzword straight out of reddit.
The notion implies some kind of hivemind, which has no place on an anonymous imageboard.

>not even answering my question

A feat of mystery that is impossible to actualize through mundane human power. This definition is a nonsequiter when discussing mystery and magecraft during the Age of Gods, because "actualizing mystery through human power" wasn't a thing in the first place. It would be like trying to specify an object's speed without defining a reference point first.

And yet, people are getting there, slowly but surely with human knowledge or are you saying that time/space/dimension travels are mysteries only exclusive to True Magics?

Could you just answer my question, please?

In Mahoyo, Aoko implies that the Five True Magics of the Age of Man are some kind of test for humanity to solve. But she just leaves the explanation unfinished because Soujuuro wasn't really following her and Alice's magicbabble.

Her relationship with Heartless in the last arc is kind of cool. In some way they reflect Waver and Gray a lot.

What's her problem?
I kind of don't want her to be involved with the bad guy but also kind of want her to get raped a bit at some point for being such an insufferable cunt.

She's the Big Bads sister, bht she so wants El Melon cock

The state of FGOfags

Gil isn't exactly incarnated like Solomon was (a human being as Roman) but was a materialized Servant with a body MADE of mud.

couldn't he just get some mystic eye killers like Rider?

Do you guys think she uses her snakes as dildos? Like haha wouldn't it be funny

Don't you mean "Satan who Arts as Lucifero?"

Rider uses breaker gorgon.

>she so wants El Melon cock
how do you figure that?

>just get some mystic eye killers
That's way easier said than done user. Remember Shiki got his from fucking Aoko.

Solomon literally knew all the Grail true purpose and was willing to die for Marisbury if he ordered it because of their contract and is expected of him as Servant. Command Spells weren't need (or useful in this case).

No he is kind of his own weird thing. He is kind of endearing too.

It's an interpretation of the constant reasing and the favt that she tries to recruit him in the novels, while also saying they are similar and stuff.

the glasses she and shiki wears

Gilgamesh's body was literally created by the Grail. Out of all the Servants in the Fifth War, he was the one who had absolutely zero defense against the Black Grail.

Tokiomi couldn't control Gil and complained Gil walked out and did his own shit without permission. While he wouldn't 'betray' him he was purposefully pushing Kotomine to betray Tokiomi. The truth 'seduced' him back.

To be fair she is also kind of wanting to find her brother.

Who she stole from Touko.

So she's trying to find her brother?
I knew she was his sister in law.

Figures that the shit sister can't do anything without stealing from her better sibling.

It's Chewbacca offense. There is little sense in it.

Her deduction is just about how Karabo had the means to do it.

BUT WHYDUNIT?

We don't know. If his path creates a magic, it's more likely new you know. He talks about unique approach.

Goetia bqq'ed everybody wasn't expected. So the plans had to wait until somebody fixed that shit.

Not only that, having someone accused and restrained because "he had the means" is a bit too much.

But that's how Policies goes, like Adashino said in other episode, they can twist the truth later to whatever they want.

Aoko beat the shit out of Touko.
Aoko is a true magician.
Aoko reinforced the glasses and not even Arc can destroy them.
Bonus: Aoko isn't a chainspoking pscyho with split personality.

Everyone knows absolutely fuck all and just wanted his eyes.

>chainspoking
I dunno user, she speaks sugois very fast

Before FSN.
Marisbury gets a tip from his side ho Heartless the Grail is tainted so cancels his trip to Fuyuki.

AM I BEING DETAINED?

She likely died and disappeared.

It's the easiest to know. This is just normal FSN universe.

NOBODY respected the Einzberns.

>The Third Magician found his Magic sometime around 0 AD.
It was post 0AD, specifically. NONE of the magic is pre 0 AD because it can only be performed by modern humans specifically.

Yes, it didn't exist. "Modern True Magic" never existed because the people lived next to the truth, it's what Nasu said. Mage means "truth seeker." It can only be discovered by humans who need to open a path to the truth. That path and the destination is that magic. It's not a hand down superpower but has to do with their family magecraft.

So Manaka can't have a 'magic' because she was born with the Root in her brain (but she can do whatever the fuck she wants usually). Same of how Ryougi can't because of her inborn connection. It's specific.

To be fair, how would you even know if your path to the root was potentially crossing with that of the 4th magician's? Nobody knows what it does besides a vague sense of "hiding itself."

Trying to assign a specific transition date from the Age of Gods to the Age of Men is a meme. Britain was still in the Age of Gods until Arthur.

What does Aoko's magic do?

Solomon invented modern magecraft circa 900 BC, how is that not when modern men were first established?

That was Age of Fairies. That being a weird mixup between AoG and AoM.

why, they made god-tier sex dolls

>shounenesque clownery

Kek I'm never forgetting that term. Will be using it ironically

Britain was the Age of Fairies. A transitional period between the Age of the Gods and the Age of Man.

We don't really know but it seems related to entropy and consumption.

Jesus christ everyone shut up and post sensei

How come there are so many jewel-class Mystic Eyes in the present era? I thought they only existed in the Age of the Gods, and that only those related to divine spirits could have them.

Faker's an HS.
Karibou is just an aberration that was being killed by it. He couldn't even control it on his own.
Vampires gotta vampire.
Everyome else just got run in the mill megane

We only saw two Jewels. Karabo and Ophelia. And none were able to control them.

I was under the impression that the Miracle associated with her consumption was how effortless it was. Like, there's no physical or chemical reaction in the universe that doesn't require some energy input to kickstart the process. There's no way to gain a reward/benefit/item/etc. without "working" for it. A 100% efficient engine doesn't exist. Yet Aoko doesn't seem to care. She makes some chuuni chant, says "I want that," and boom the heat energy of the galaxy is just fucking gone. Goetia needed to charge up mana for like 3000 years before he could pull a stunt that's similar in concept and scale, and he's a big-dicked magus from the age of gods with infinity Human Order cancer powering him up and shit. The miracle she's working is the like the idealized concept of an "engine" or some shit. Is this not correct?

Faker's aren't Jewel. Those are a unspecified Noble Color inferior to Gold, as the novels say that Waver's Mystic Eyes Killers can't nullify Gold or above.

Kara no Kyoukai has mystic eyes of death perception and a guy with the calculation type of future sight.

How does it work on gray tho?
She should have a lot of mana, shouldn't she?

t. Gray

Aren't MEODP considered Jewel-class?

Roman categorized them as Rainbow.

Rainbow, the hightest

Because they are still potent enough and she doesn't have the Magical Resistance for it. Even so, Add can activate her circuits and that cleanses the effect.

>Everyome else just got run in the mill megane
Isn't Reines' eyes supposed to be really good?

Also, Rail Zeppelin probably wouldn't have the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. Even if they hypothetically found someone who did have them and extracted them, the MEoDP are a hybrid power. The eyes and brain work as a set, and even if you removed the eyes, without the brain they're useless. Though according to Touko, they'd still have a lot of value regardless.

In fact, according to Tohno, even if he went completely blind, he'd still be able to perceive the Lines of Death.

So wait, the Einzbern's dream was always doomed from the start? Their entire existence was a joke?

>Their entire existence was a joke?
Does anyone have that "Einzbern strategy" image?

Yeah but not Noble Color tier.

Solomon invented the SYSTEM, but he himself didn't quite use it. He was a mage of the Ages of Gods. They even had different circuits.

He himself didn't get to use it, but the people he distributed it to did. No matter how you look at it, this marks the official beginning of "modern" humans.

And Goetia is said to be the first modern magecraft ritual and the basis of all magecraft so he kind of used it at least once.

The system that Solomon created is the basis for normal western magecraft but what about native american magecraft, or Japanese magecraft or stuff like how Touko using runes? Why isn't that AoG magecraft? I guess I'm just confused as to why there would be a link between Solomon and Onmyoudo for example.

Dude synchretism lmao

But it doesn't even make sense with syncretism because there's evidence from Servant profiles that some types of magecraft are older than Solomon. Like Chinese stuff.

>first modern magecraft ritual
He's not at all though. What are you talking about. He's the first SUMMON system and basis of summoning overall including the Counter Force system. It's not modern magecraft.

Abe no Seimei used pentagrams as Solomon, so there's a connection for sure.
Chinese shit is called "sage technology".
Runes are derivated from the rune system of the gods, not exactly a magecraft passed to men.

The pentagram is a normal part of onmyoudo that represents the 5 elements.

It's not that hard to figure out what rank someone's mystic eyes are. The Noble Colors systems is really on the nose: they're named pretty much after the appearances of the mystic eyes in question. The most powerful of the common mystic eyes shine bright gold, so if someone's eyes shine a really clear gold, it means they're Gold-class. See: Arcueid. It's kinda hard to tell though because there are some mystic eyes are colored yellow or amber, so this is probably the most difficult category of eyes to tell from appearance alone.

After that are Jewel-class mystic eyes, the eyes of the gods. Jewel-class mystic eyes tend to look kinda weird, and the reason they're called that is because it seems like you're looking at irises made of beautiful jewels, such as sapphires. Rider's strange looking pink eyes with square pupils were the first confirmed Jewel-class eyes in the series.

The final class is the easiest to tell of all. Rainbow-class mystic eyes are said to shine in different colors. It was said that the Crimson Moon's eyes, which shined in the seven colors of the rainbow, were of this category. Recently, we also learned that the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception were probably Rainbow-class as well. It's worth noting that in the original Kara no Kyoukai novels, Shiki's eyes were merely described as "blue". Them shining in different colors was a retcon made for the films which have subsequently been canonized. It remains to be seen if Tohno Shiki's eyes will follow suit.

>The Noble Colors systems is really on the nose: they're named pretty much after the appearances of the mystic eyes in question
Shit this never occurred to me before and now I feel like a retard.

While the system existed, the people of the ages of gods and the world was different user. The circuits and how the od flowed was very different. The world lost completely the true ether and the connection to the truth ON 0AD, some places had more mystery but it was inevitable dying.
A number of 0 age of magic casters give a flying fuck about the Root, Solomon (and Goetia) included).
This is instead something modern mages seek even if they are heroic spirits like Paracelsus.

>It remains to be seen if Tohno Shiki's eyes will follow suit.
I hope not. I really liked the sharp blue of that version.

same as Solomon's circle, which is older.

All forms of magecraft degraded when the gods left and again when the lower magic life forms did.
If you hide it away, magecraft can resist weathering more, which is how Touko's rune survived in a purer for, assume-ably.

He is a magecraft formula though, he was at first the Human Order Revision Ritual and then he turned into the Human Order Incineration Ritual. He is basically the basis of spiritual evocation in a way.

Like really most of the magecraft used in the Clock Tower has its basis in Solomon. We even know that an entire Faculty was founded by one of Solomon's disciples.

So are gold mystic eyes more powerful or are just different?

They are a lesser tier than Jewel.

Which began in the Ages of Gods. It has nothing to do with modern magecraft when the conflict with Goetia was indeed a conflict of the Ages of Gods AGAINST men, same as Tiamat.

>We even know that an entire Faculty was founded by one of Solomon's disciples.
No, it was founded by the DESCENDANT of the disciple.

It's Rainbow>Jewel>Gold>Everything else not worth its own designation.

Gold mystic eyes are probably the most powerful "natural" mystic eyes that you can find in the modern era, though there might be a few mutations here and there. It mostly just denotes raw power. Jewel is divine-class, the rarest of the rare. Rainbow is super-divine class, so obscenely rare that the vast majority of magi believe that they're just myths. Most magi consider Rainbow to be something of a baseless rumor.

Literally the only three owners of Rainbow Mystic Eyes that we know of are A) the Ultimate One of the moon and B) a pair of Japanese teenagers with a connection to the Root.

So what about Seo and Meruka from Kara no Kyoukai? They didn't even bother changing their eye color or anything. You just get something like pic related. Nasu being lazy again?

Male Shiki doesn't have a connection to the Root. It's about his family's pure eyes mixing with something else about him and a near death experience on top. The point is that in his case it's due to a random set of circumstance that nobody involved planned for.

Which is weird because AoG magecraft doesn't really worked with formulas, it was literally just a shape of a divine authority wielded by a mage (who in some way it was like a priest). What Solomon did seems like a weird mix of the two.

fuck the japanese!

He died temporarily and briefly touched the Root. He just has a special compatibility with them that Roa didn't.

1000 years ago, would magecraft that enabled you to fly be considered True Magic?

Psychic abilities are kinda hard to gauge, since they're hybrid powers. But they're most likely below gold. They're rare but not super-powerful.

The Tohno Shiki eyes still being blue it would make sense given that his are a weird mutation of Pure Eyes.

They're both hybrid powers. Ryougi Shiki specifically awakened to those eyes due to her lineage. Manaka, despite having a connection to the Root as well, doesn't have the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.

Yeah but I mean that his eyes were blue due to the Pure Eyes from the start.

Why would Karabo's eyes be Jewel and not Meruka's though? Because he can only set like 5 minutes into the future I guess while Karabo can see presumably anything in the past?

They're both pure eye/mystic eye hybrids.

>Q: Are Ryougi's Mystic Eyes of Death Perception a type of Eyes of Clarity?
>A: Yes. The Ryougis and Nanayas were good friends! (A long time ago)
>Although the two types of eyes are inheritable, if you consider regular Mystic Eyes as traits that modify the body..... something like the inheritance of the traits of the parents' body...... then Eyes of Clarity are the inheritance of fate and destiny......the offspring continues the parents' will and their quest.
>Even though Eyes of Clarity are the parents' karma reflected in the offspring, they can only be inherited by "humans" with high spiritual potential.
>In other words, Mystic Eyes of Death Perception are a type of hybrid power. The cheating powers of both Shikis ought to have a limit!

Solomon was the literal agent of Yahweh. While it did give men an observation system to do shit themselves, his existence was super connected to mystery. Goetia's being the other system of the body or whatever caused shit with the man's observations. Why do you think Roman said with the disappearance of Solomon King of Magecraft as agent of God means humans can observe and manipulate things with the laws of physics only. Goetia was the symbolic embodiment of the god side of Solomon even if he wasn't the original who wanted to literally do Genesis with him as basis. That's literal God bullshit. Solomon as Heroic Spirit becoming Roman represented Men instead.
But Goetia didn't use any modern magecraft, he was uprooted the god bullshit.

>divine authority wielded by a mage (who in some way it was like a pries
Not really when Greek shit is robotic and chink sage stuff which is also AoG is cybernetic too and uses formulas. It's just formulas with mystery that's accepted.

Karabo's eyes can interfere with destiny while Meruka's can only confirm it.

Seo's eyes/abilities seem identical to Trisha's. Meruka's eyes seem like they would impress the magi just as much as Karabo's did seeing as he can actualize a future he wants.

>Not really when Greek shit is robotic and chink sage stuff which is also AoG is cybernetic too and uses formulas. It's just formulas with mystery that's accepted.
I mean, Case Files directly explains how AoG Greek magecraft worked (and we see it interact through Faker) and ultimately it was just that, a piece of a divine authority. Like that's even a pretty big plot point in Case Files actually and something discussed a lot in the last arc.

I'm pretty sure Mitsuru eyes were quite high ranked though. His are even described like this.

>Case Files directly explains how AoG Greek magecraft worked (and we see it interact through Faker) and ultimately it was just that, a piece of a divine authority
Which Solomon had, you know, that's why he's called Agent of God on Earth. And not every magecraft of the ages of gods is similar. The "sage technology" is an example in LB3.

What do you mean? I thought Meruka did exactly the same shit but just in the future not the past.

Was there an era that preceded the Age of the Gods? And what exactly ARE gods supposed to be in this setting? Aliens? Manifestations of the Root?

Well the problem with Seo is that she's a psychic. So while she uses her sight for her powers, it's her brain that's really doing all the work. Even if you removed her eyes, without her brain they're useless. With hybrids like her, the eyes and brain work as a set so they probably don't quite work the same way.

For instance, take Shiki, who's of a similar type. Both Shikis' eyes are constantly activated. They always see lines around them no matter what, unless they wear Mystic Eye Killer glasses. But their eyes only actually glow when they intend to kill. Their eyes don't glow 24/7. Normal Mystic Eyes shine when in use but by technicality, the Shikis' eyes are always in use. That's the trouble with psychic abilities: they don't always glow even if they're super-powerful.

Wasnt meruka eyes just showing him the conditions to reach the future he wanted?
Seo just show her the future under the conditions in the present so it just makes prediction thanks to the info that seo can have at the moment but trisha seems to not need that to see the future she knew she was going to get killed but she has no way to predict that after all

There are two or three age of gods. 12000BC was the second

There was a First Age of Gods actually. We don't really know what that entailed.

Also it depends. Some were deified aliens that were put under the system, other were some kind of machines, others were concepts given human form.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_the_Gods

Gods are manifestations of the World iirc
