If you're going to go with a true harem, then it's best to keep it small as in perhaps 2 or 3 and to bind them to each other and to the MC somehow. Like give them all a shared psychic connection or make them bound to the MC.

I'm at about 10 right now, but the thing is that the girls are introduced at very different parts in the MC's life, and they aren't all present at the same time. This gives valid reason for the MC and the girls, on an individual basis, to develop their characters.
But he has amensia and doesn't remember all this, so when they're all dumped on his lap at the same time later on after finally finding him again, he's going to be at a complete loss.

This is "early on", I'm like 18 chapters in, she was introduced 4 chapters ago and will get a small but important role during the "arc"'s climax. After that she will be involved with the plot nearly as much as the MC.
My issue is that if I only show her during this plot-heavy scenes, then I won't have the chance to show her actually bonding with the MC, which is necessary to understand why she will go so far for him in the future. It's not like the scenes don't work without some SoL in the middle but the whole thing would feel much cheaper.
It's kind of shit example but I'd say it's like taking FSN, removing all the scenes where the cast is just chilling and interacting with each other and then exepecting the audience to give much of a fuck when one character sacrifices himself for another or when one character surpasses his own limits to save another character. It's not like those action-packed scenes would be shit but they probably wouldn't get you so invested.

Yeah but sometimes you want to introduce a character before he/she becomes heavily involved with the plot. Well yeah, isekai is mainly for self insertion, but not just as the character, but as someone going to that world. The reader doesn't have to associate directly with the MC, they can insert as themselves since they should already know how the new world inhabitants react to older knowledge. The reader replaces the MC with themselves entirely.

I would recommend ignoring the vast majority of content.
People here and other places are acting as if Japan shitting out 10000 garbage "MC meets princess in wagon" and "I'm the villain but I'm not" isekai defines the entire theme.

The biggest issue I face when writing anything is coming up with an interesting overarching plot. But what conflict does the MC get into? What conflicts come after that? Do plots tie into each other, are they interesting?
