how come they can't create anything with interesting worldbuilding?
whenever i want to find something where the author puts time and effort and research into the world crafting i have to go to VN's. The last LN i have read that wasn't isekai garbage was Mahouka where the author went out of his way.
A lot of chinese WN authors do a really good job like pic.

Unfortunately, all that worldbuilding (and the author does go really far in trying) is wasted on what is easily the worst protag and godawful sister ever. They are the textbook pinnacle example of a sue couple utterly deflating the tension out of the story.
