Friendly reminder: These 3 are anime's most important studios. Without them, this "artform" wouldn't be worth bothering with.
>Production IG Created what are arguably the most detailed and stunning films and television anime we will likely ever get; innovators in CG integration and compositing >Studio 4C Single-handedly pushed the medium forward for 30 years and the bar none most creative animation studio to have ever existed; outrageous range from realistic animation (Magnetic Rose, Spriggan), over expressive character acting (Mind Game) all the way to experimental masterpieces more creative than anything other studios could even dream of (Tojin Kit, Wana, Animatrix, Kaijuu no Kodomo) >Bones Bar none the best television anyone has ever managed to produce; incredible range and versatility in regards to what and how it's being animated -- dominating the industry ever since before its foundation, since Escaflowne and Bebop are essentially Bones shows, too
Madhouse and KyoAni are better. Kaijuu no Kodomo is garbage and so are the recent bones shows. Worse still, bones is now netflix's slave.

BADHOUSE hadn't been creative before Kon and hasn't been creative ever since and the only well animated television show they've ever "made" was almost single-handedly animated by Iso, who's not part of the studio. Not sure what it is you're trying to say.

Personally I like KyoAni's works but yknow to each their own
Yknow I've always thought that a Cinegrid should be more than just shots that look interesting, they should feature thematic shots that are actually remembered by the people who watched the show

I like Studio 4c but I think you're overselling them by a lot, they haven't made much that's relevant in the grand scheme of things and the few films that are were from a couple decades ago already, and as far as i know they have literally no relevant tv anime. if we're looking at the studios as a whole, then gainax should definitely be on the list.

Aye. Ignore the retard. Meaning, be it symbolic or emotional, trumps looks any day.
Blake Russell
> Meaning, be it symbolic or emotional, trumps looks any day Those are almost hard-locked to eachother. A great looking shot will barely ever be devoid of meaning, or else it wouldn't be a great looking shot.

The old (and good) Madhouse is dead. A lot of the staff is in MAPPA now.

Although I cannot really argue with that, I don't think that's right in every situation

IG makes one great anime per decade now as well. Doesn't change their importance or diminish the height they've reached in any way. Everybody knows that Japanese animation peaked during the 90s-00s. The 10s were merely a transitioning period for the 20s to revolutionize the artform again. We are about to enter another golden age.
