The shit with Kota and Iida was still during the early parts of the manga where Deku does indeed impact the story in meaningful ways. The recent arcs shows Deku as more of an indecisive pussy who doesn’t know what to do next. You could argue that Deku does try to proactively influence the arcs he is in but the way the author presents the story makes it seem more like Deku is just thrown into circumstances beyond his control and Deku just reacts to it, rather than Deku himself being the one to present a conflict or situation from his own actions.

There’s nothing wrong with situational stories, but when you introduce us to a character under a guise that they have a goal and we’re expected to see that character work towards it, reader interest will drop significantly when that character just does nothing but react to shit

I honestly never cared for the dynamic of the LoV, all the "hurr durr they're friends friends take care of friends" punkfags who ignored that Shiggy didn't even care about them for most of the arcs were annoying, and also the sort of people who "stick up for their friends" when that means fucking over other people are the most punchable irl.
