Episode 4 really killed Genocyber. It was so dull.

The animation (at least in the first two stories) is unique, appealing, and of a high quality. It's just not very coherent/narratively developed. The first part kinda goes 50 different ways and ends abruptly, the second part on the ship is only pretty good, the third part is abysmally boring. If the animation were supported by, like, anything, it'd be great. I find a lot of it severely lacking in interest outside of kinda cool images.

Well, yes, the first episode is really what made me love it. The second and third are mainly good for the action. I guess I'm not much of a plot fag, because even if it didn't lay it out in a coherent manner, I felt very strongly what Genocyber said about anger, nihilism, hope; more than I understood it anyway.

Interesting take, and I can get how that could resonate, but it just feels to me like a beautifully crafted ice-cream dessert dwarfed by the slightly burnt steak and awful, limp salad that accompany it. A beautiful woman with a severe case of malnourishment. Great facade with no support. Ideas with no refinement.
