His story about the guy who hated robots was the most disturbing shit I ever saw. The fact that it was played as uplifting made it even more bizarre.

what story?

Astroboy episode about a guy who lost most of his body to an accident caused by robots. Later on he got in another accident and had his fucking head replaced. He then proceeded to accept robots because he now was one.

Kid me knew he was dead and was replaced by a robot.

Adolf is good

What are his best works?

Blackjack for sure, there's just something "mature" about it

I also like the one about Buddha life

>Kid me knew he was dead and was replaced by a robot.
It;s a ship of theseus situation; it's hard to say if he's still alive or not if he had his brain/memories implanted into a robot body.

I am in awe of his creativity

does he have any more historical x horror / supernatural stuff like Dororo?

Some stories in Phoenix are historical with magic/supernatural stuff. Buddha too.

Thanks!
What are the chances we will get more Tezuka anime remakes?

The Shinsengumi, Age of Adventure, and Castle at Dawn are all samurai stories if you're into that.

Was Dororo a success in Japan in terms of sales?

Thanks.

I remember being solidly floored by how good Buddha was as a series.

Also, Astro Boys a god damn classic. I never expected the emotional depth and creative storytelling from approaching it at surface-level.

How do I get into Astro Boy?

Read or watch it I guess.

Read the original manga, generally. If you're trying to watch it then each show is pretty much their own thing, with different strengths to them. The original 60s show has a sort of charm to it with its cheap animation combined with its surrealist visuals and cartoonish antics. The 80s show is the most faithful adaptation of the original manga, and holds up well for an anime of its time. The 2003 show is pure eye candy, you're mainly watching that for the visuals and sakuga.

Is it possible to find all of the episodes of the 60s show?

What are goods Tetzuka works?

There's the entire dub, but in terms of original Japanese there's quite a few episodes that are just plain lost media.

There are moments in Black Jack that touch me in a way I can't describe

Did 2003 Tetsuwan ever get a proper release? I've found two different releases in pawn shops and neither of them had the JP episodes.

Where can I find his translated works online?

I like that Tezuka Co. liked Astro Boy's English name enough to start slapping it on the Japanese merch

Seeing an actual realistic bear for this style is just so jarring. I'd have expected something closer to pic related, honestly.

>>Disney stole Tezuka's white lion Kimba
>>make one of the best animation movies of all time
God fucking damn it

Just finished Ayako. Don't know how to think about it.

People are really attracted to Buddha huh?

Kind of hits you over the head with the Artist-and-his-Muse allegory. Wonder what Robert Graves would've thought.

Tezuka is really something else.

Pluto when?

>Have you read his works?
Sure I love BlackJack and Wonder 3.

Imagine if Walt Disney saw Fritz the Cat and was like "I can make something twice as fucked up as this"

Literally any site with manga scans

How accurately ironic, not the way you say it user, just the image manga you have.

I haven't read it all but Fenix was so damn powerful.

Appolo's song was pretty interesting.

Any sire worth it's salt would have his most known works. But from what I've seen, the only ones with his more obscure stuff is mangarock.

*Any site

Its weird that I only know Ozamu for his Astro Boy and Kimba works and even then I only watch the Astro Boy 2003 remakes and Kimba for being similar to Lion King.

Episode user?

user, the guy had droves of literal fangirls trying to throw themselves at him.
