Rule 11 means that the tweets attached to the petition are not verifiable as to source, no signature from the defendant and no electronic footprint.

They referred directly to the claims of fan rape at cons that were denied by the people the claims were allegedly about, and that was one of the big factors that resulted in him getting fired. If he can't argue his case strongly enough based on that there's not much other evidence he can bring against them.

The important part here is that the affidavits of them saying those things (as well as affidavits refuting the claims) were attached to the amendment that just got thrown out as part of a ploy to back door them in as evidence. In addition to the amendment getting thrown out the judge chastised them for trying that shit instead of submitting them as evidence in the first place.

The standard for slander/libel requires you prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the person meant to hurt you (financially, socially, etc) by their knowingly false words, not just that you were were hurt. Essentially it's a bunch of "yes she did", "no she didn't" back and forth on whether she meant to hurt him.
