Ok hear me out >Time in the AoT universe works as in the Block Universe Theory. That means, past, present and future happen simultaneously. Think of it like a book: everything is already written, so the future "already happened", so to speak, which means it cannot be changed >The grandfather paradox cannot happen, then, cause the past has already incorporated the reality that someone has "traveled" to the past, which means, Eren, when he influenced Grisha, became part of the past. Having that clear: >Somehow, Eren accesses to Founder Ymir's memories and witness the moment she came in contact with the "origin of all matter", guided by the "Devil of All Earth", he also witness all of AoT history >He decides then to take the role of the "Devil of All Earth", showing Ymir the way of coming in contact with the "origin of all matter". >Eren pushes the past inheritors of the Attack Titan to "move forward to freedom", whatever that means in each circumstances. >Eren convinces Ymir not to infertilize all Eldians showing her the future, and convinces her to follow his plan >The rumbling is activated, and the world's armies alliance is crushed From now on I'll be rather vague on what I think will happen >Somehow, Eren and Ymir close the gate between the Titan Realm and the physical world >The paths are cut, it isn't possible to transfer memories nor Titan flesh and bones anymore. >Eren let himself to be killed by Reiner, making him the Helos of the new era without Titans. >Because the world's allied forged have been crushed, Paradis has time to develop with the help of Hizuru >Now that the power of Titans is no more, Eldians are kicked from Marley and mass migrate to Paradis (that or they are assassinated) >Last panel is someone hugging Historia's child saying "you're free"
Some minor details: >Krista was Ymir's original name, she went by the name of Ymir when she built the Eldian Empire >Ymir (or Krista) was originally a slave with no freedom at all.
One more thing: Eren shows the future to child Eren in the first episode

Isayama is a hack. He is the same kind of hack as Anno, he uses smoke and mirrors to impress brainlets and make them think he wrote something 3deep5u. The truth is that the bootstrap paradox completely breaks the thematic consistency of the story and makes the whole thing pointless, but since his fucktarded fans can barely understand the concept, they just go "oh I don't understand this so it must be deep and smart" and bam, another cult of personality begins for yet another hack writer.

>Grisha turns into a bitch >Zeke now literally used by his two daddy's Are Erwin, Kruger and Eren the only chads in this manga? Maybe Floch too if he ends up killing Pieck.
>grisha has his crisis of faith >rod is already running So Grisha didn't necessarily spare Rod deliberately. I've been wondering about Grisha's "is this okay" and "everyone except the father" lines and the implication Eren (3/10 wits) planned it all out. At face value, it sounds as though Eren gave him specific instructions and thus masterminded everything Grisha did that day. But isn't it equally likely Grisha only saw himself killing the Reiss family in Eren's memories of his memories? After it happened, Grisha decided that this was Eren's plan rather than something Eren merely witnessed as a fait accompli.
The bootstrap paradox fits with the themes of the story and it's a counter to Eren's ideology of "moving forward towards freedom".
As Isayama said long ago in an interview, Eren is a "slave to the story", with fits in the context of a self sustainable universe in which everything happens cause it has to happen and thus past or future cannot be changed. No matter how Eren tries to change the future outcome, he can't. It's like a story that has already been written. That's why he's actually a slave.
Maybe Eren wants to break from this paradox, and if that's the case it would fit perfectly with his ideology and the theme of his character: moving towards freedom.
You are just a retard who doesn't stop to think that, and judging by the way you talk about AoT fans you honestly look like a contrarian.

No, you are the retard. Eren's willful choices are the driving force of the causality loop, and those choices are supposedly informed by a search for freedom. We don't know if Eren can control the flow of information the way Zeke and Grisha believe he can. But even if he could warn Grisha, that likely would break the causal chain which lead to Eren being able to send that information back in the first place. We have no idea what effect Carla surviving the fall would have on Eren and Grisha's actions. Eren can't change the past in a closed time loop scenario. Carla has to die in Shiganshina because she already died there in Eren's past.

Eren can't see the future(except that one time he saw some scene through Grisha's memory.). You don't understand Reiner and Eren's conflict. Reiner was made like that because of his circumstances, Eren was manipulated by a future Eren changed by the circumstances and threat to Paradis to the point he had to accept his parents, Mikasa's parents and the Reiss family's death. Eren's wilful choices are moving the plot forward, however, future is already written so it cannot be changed. Those two statements are not contradictory.
Eren's intention is not to create a loop, cause as you say that's inconsistent with his character. Rather, he wants to move the plot to the outcome he wants.
That's my take on it but idk since I don't fucking know what Isayama is thinking, like pretty much everyone in this thread.
>you will never get back the comfy season 1/2 aesthetic
Josiah Hernandez
>He thinks Eren has time to ponder the metaphysical or that anyone in that world has even heard of a casuality loop He's just moving forward dumbass. There's nothing inconsistent about it.
Tyler Green
Think. Even if I 95% don't believe isayama would push a happy all good end nor make Eren live happily without dying young, but what will the story be like if Eren does partially cancel the 13 years curse?
That way Eren can protect Paradis' future himself with FT the rest of his life, and just need to be aware not letting others eat and steal their titan power: Armin and Historia would be safe from the fate of dying young or even being devoured, if Eren can also somehow stop the succession tradition. He can even have Historia become a shifter (maybe eat Annie?) now and protect Eldia with her without forcing her a tragic life. Actually becoming a shifter without 13 years curse can even benefits Historia, as she'll get that super recovery speed, and if she wants to produce children herself there's smaller risks of dying from giving birth.
All they need to do now will be get rid of Zeke, Reiner and the other Marleyaen shifters and beware of Gabi, the rest would be easy. Well guess Eren and Historia would be like Emperor and Empress of the new Eldian Empire with that anyway. Sounds dumb.
Dominic Cooper

Between the flood of new characters and the uncomfortable political/historical imagery, I really think they're going to cut some of the Marley arc. RBA's past will be one episode. The lead-up to GR2.0 will be one episode. Eren's scenes will be left intact, but Gabi and Falco will be introduced with just enough screen time to establish their relationship and roles in the Warrior program, as well as Falco's involvement in Eren's plan.
If the attack titan can change the past and future then how can he even lose? Why did eren allow the death of his friends? couldn't he have stopped his mother from dying?
How did the king move to create a city and abandon half of his people? wouldn't the attack titan stop him?

I'm almost 100% sure that you can't see your own memories through someone else's memories. Memory-seeing for all titans works by putting you in their POV in physical space, so it makes no sense that Grisha would see Eren's memory (from Eren's POV) and pass through that to his own future (from Eren seeing Grisha's memory from Grisha's POV). This just doesn't make sense.

I don't expect it to happen, but that's close to what I'd consider an ideal happy ending. However, they would also need to destroy the technology Marleyans use to titanize ordinary Eldians and erase the research that lead to it. Which means they'd have to rumble all of Marley at minimum, or mindless titans could still be used shock troops by any foreign power.
>Well guess Eren and Historia would be like Emperor and Empress of the new Eldian Empire with that anyway. Sounds dumb. Eh. Neither Eren nor Historia has any imperialistic ambition. It's more likely they would remain on Paradis to rebuild and eventually expand beyond the walls to accommodate non-Walldians who want to immigrate. Basically, Japan post-WWII, but with an economy bolstered by exports.
After Eren and Historia die, there would be a risk their successor would want to expand and conquer. But titans were already losing their effectiveness for Marley. If the rest of the world's technological development continues apace, titans will have lost their overwhelming edge in 50 years' time. In terms of military might, Eldians will be no more or less dangerous than any other world power.
That kid could stop a war with it's scowl. Cringe onesie is superior.

Either because it was the only way to save Paradis despite the rest of the world being destroyed or because Eren intervened again. The fact he asked Zeke to stop him means Grisha isn't fully aware how deterministic the whole is (but he seems to be since he says Eren's dream comes true) or, more likely, that the thing he saw was terrible but not yet irreversible, i.e. just part of the rumbling and it could still be stopped. I don't think Grisha would trick Zeke, it was genuine emotion.

Unless Zeke has super hearing he shouldn't know. Manlet was far up on the giant trees when he discussed it with his men. He could probably guess they weren't gonna let him sit around forever, and he did have his appointment with Eren.
Given how they wouldnt need to deal with manlet and they only needed a moment couldn't they just run away after that? And even then why fear so much, I thought the cause was more important than their lives
Tyler Scott
The Attack Titan was originally part of Ymir, so what if Eren manipulated her into subjugating the world?

>I'm almost 100% sure that you can't see your own memories through someone else's memories.
I tend to agree, but that raises the question of who saw "that scenery" then, because it couldn't be through Eren's eyes either.
The way I'm reasoning this is that Eren also formed memories of Grisha's actions. He doesn't have access to Grisha's memories at any time; he just remembers the vision he saw. Therefore, he formed his own memories of those events, even though he saw them through Grisha's eyes. Basically, the AT's power copies and transplants memories with the paths as the transfer medium. Both copies of those memories are from Grisha's point of view.
What Grisha and Eren are doing (observing the past as third parties, like time travellers) is only possible because they're inside the paths. It's not a normal function of the AT.
Elijah Hall
The sterilization can be undone either way but the process itself might kill the baby, so that’s why Eren sperged so much all of sudden I think.

I think he simply changed his mind. He returned to that young Grisha furious of the lost of his young sister after he knew Carla was eaten alive by titan, and then told young "you must avenge your mom".
Grisha wasn't born like Eren, he wasn't that aggressive for freedom's sake, but he could be ragetard like his son after a huge lost of a love one. I guess if Eren's plan is indeed to rumble their world, as a kind doctor he was in the walls, Grisha would normally think that's wrong to kill innocents at such amounts to get Eldia free, or at least struggle with that. He wasn't that brave or as edgy as his own son, who genuinely wanted to trample the world before knowing that would cause sacrificing Historia.
But he's still Eren's father. Eren loves and hates strongly, could either die for his hatred of titans or protecting his loved ones. Grisha's hate also pushed him for years, and now once again, after the bitter taste of losing an important loved one. I think knowing his wife died gruesomely made him changed his thoughts from "we shouldn't genocide the world..." to "Marley needs to be destroyed. Kill them all, Eren."
Grayson Hall
>Even knowing that his son will genocide the entire planet, he continues the cicle instead of breaking the wheel
Time paradox. There aren't branching timelines in effect here. If he doesn't see the vision of Eren destroying the world (assuming that's what it actually is), then he can't try to prevent it. But if he prevents it (like by giving the AT to someone else), then he would never see Eren's memory in the first place. The only way to preserve the vision AND try to stop Eren is to ask someone in the future (which ended up being Zeke) to do so.
But they still want to trigger the rumbling in order to protect the island for the united forces, so they need to be alive andsee what they are actually doing while controlling the titans .
Gavin King
I can't help but notice the people complaining about this are not fans
But to think about Eren has these informations, at least "that scenery" already 4 years ago, but it didn't seem like he ever told Hange or Levi or the scouts or AMJCS or anything? I mean if they know that AT can somehow time travel, then they might act differently than what they have tried the past chapters.
How could he pull something like that? He already hid the information about Dina and royal blood titan possibilities over a year, wasn't that enough? Were there any good reason for him again to keep theses informations private himself? He's a solider who vowed his life for his nation, he shouldn't always act on his behalf like this all the time. Or was it because he was still afraid that "activating FT to rumble the world= still need to titanize Historia" and also in the denial stage of rather he really should trample the world or not?
Daniel Lee
I-I don't get this chapter. Future-past mangling has always been too confusing to me. There are so many perceptible loopholes that my mind doesn't even want to bother thinking somewhat deeply about it at all. Just a few points. Since this is a loop, the "first time" Eren got in contact with Grisha already set in stone the fact Eren participated in the past; Future Eren talking with Grisha was an event unstoppable. Basically, there could've happened countless unstable loops (see) til one got there. It was impossible for Eren NOT GETTING the AT+FT in that point.
see: , , and the image but not the text in Eren doesn't control everything. His memories only influenced Grisha's actions. The rest of the story's events, like the fall of Shiganshina, are driven by the actions of others. Zeke is basically a retarded speedreader who made wild leaps of logic and assumed Eren magically micromanipulated cause and effect for some evil master plan. All Eren's done is react to events and memories as he's experienced them.

Think. What if Ymir opens her eyes at the next chapter, and we found out she happens to get that Reiss eyes like Historia, Frieda and Rod?
Well most of the fandom still could say something like "she's their ancestor, so it isn't a great deal that they've got the same eyes passed down like over a thousand years", and with her thick bangs her eyebrows still wouldn't be shown to us.
If she really turns out to be Ymir the future daughter of Eren and Historia, I can see that Isayama finally unleash her eyebrows to the audience after another couple of months, and it turns out to be the exact same eyebrows that Eren and Carla got...that would be wild to be honest.
I wonder what happened for him and the others to completely forget about her existence.
Jaxson Richardson
Yes that would be unstable. And it will continue to be unstable until it finds an equilibrium.
Aiden Perry
Grisha's heart was in the right place, but he was ultimately a weak-willed person who didn't have the stomach to get his hands dirty. I felt sorry for him in this chapter.
Why did he look mad if he saw ''that scenery'' when he kissed Historia's hand? Or was it his father buckling under the pressure and then telling Zeke to stop him? Maybe he didn't see anything past the cave in that moment.
Eren has those eyes too though but that's Isayama problem even though he made sure to show eren and historia eyes were different. I find the hidden eyebrows more suspicious than anything, naybe the memes got into me but Eren's eyebrows are unique (not counting Erwin for being dead and Gabi for being Eren loli version design-wise). Maybe is their daughter or maybe she is the real Krista/Historia
1. Still an early concept 2. A way of coping but you could say some panels of Zeke hating war and feeling bad. I guess Mike was because of the shocking introduction

No retard, is literally said that the attack titan power is too see future memories, that's why it resists the founder and in every era has pushed forward to freedom. Every attack titan holder has been influenced by Eren since the first one, Grisha, Kruger and all that came before.
Because only dumb cucks believe he is somehow a good guy. He's been always a piece of shit. He is about to die and against the wall with the possibility of everything he built til now to be destroyed by Eren, so he acts like a victim.

He didn't. He was angry at the corps being foolishly rushing to their deaths without even knowing why, he was angry at Grisha too, and he had to convince himself that it was all a game to deal with that anger.
Gavin Ramirez
He's a hypocrite.
It's weird how sadistic he is when killing soldiers, not just in Shiganshina, but also in that scene preceding Reiner's and Bert's reveal in which he takes a Scout's equipment and leaves him helpless on the ground, to be slowly devoured by a titan. If he actually believed in minimizing suffering and weren't just an angry, bitter person lashing out at his father, he would have just killed him painlessly.
Aiden Reed
Isayama just forgot about her and when he remembered it was too late to give her a spot on the plot so he shows her crystal sometimes so anniecucks can hope she becomes relevant again
The basically started a conflict because he changed his mind after meeting his second son. I felt sorry for him in the cave but not after that, I felt disgusted honestly. Isayama really did "assassinate" him for me.

The Eldia he wanted to set free is different than the one Eren wants to protect, which is just Paradis. World destruction would pretty much kill off most of the eldians.

Because that's the attack titan's power. "Seeing memories from the future" is actually "Eren's sending memories to the past users" as he is he is the one here in the coordinate. Eren influencing past holders so Eldia ultimately wins it's freedom like it's already written to happen is the attack titan's power.
Jayden Bailey
>Every attack titan holder has been influenced by Eren since the first one, Grisha, Kruger and all that came before. So far, we have no evidence that could happen as anything other than a butterfly effect. As in: Eren influenced Grisha, Grisha influenced Kruger, Kruger influenced his predecessor, and so on. It's possible fragmented visions of things like "that scenery" or this scene were transferred down through the past and inspired ATs throughout time. Nonetheless, the only person Eren's memories affected DIRECTLY was Grisha. And that still doesn't mean Eren "controls everything", for fuck's sake. The actions of ATs throughout history were just one influence in a giant tapestry of cause and effect. It's not fucking omnipotent, nor does it overwrite its users' character. Notice how Grisha was still an indecisive faggot despite having Eren's angry memories rammed up his ass.
Eren was standing right there when he talked to Zeke.
Carson Harris
Zeke's an idiot. If he were actually an anti-natalist, he should want both the sterilization of Eldians and the rumbling, as that will just about exterminate nearly the entire world population.
Tyler Peterson
But he was willing to let his new family die before Eren "encouraged" him which in the first was the reason why he'd chickened out the first time he was at the chapel and with him tipping off Zeke, the eldia that he wanted and the eldia that Eren wants won't even exist if the future isn't predetermined. At the end of the day, he doomed every version of eldia.

Not that guy, but how do you think Eren influenced Grisha in that moment? Are you suggesting Eren somehow told Grisha to tell Zeke to stop himself, or that he intentionally influenced him to do so via memory cherry picking?
Isaiah Young
Grisha doesn't know about Zeke's euthanasia plan. All he asked him to do was stop Eren, he had no idea that he'd try to stop him that way.
Andrew Gonzalez
Pieck doesn't know Magath current intentions, Marley is not currently planning to kill off the Eldians.

Sure, it's not like every nation won't change it's policy every time a new leader takes over. Not to mention, Marley forces which include Magath already effectively lost the battle in Paradis. What's stopping people from making sure that another Eren Yeager won't be born into that world?
Tyler James
i'm really stupid guys, why is eren's dream coming true instead of grisha's or kruger's? is it because they didn't have access to all the paths?
Jason Gomez
Is Eren the sage of 9 paths?

Lincoln Morales
Grisha saw the future and saw Eren winning.
Oliver Wilson
That's irrelevant if Marley loses here, there won't be any nations other than Paradis. The point stays that Marley is not planning to genocide the Eldians, neither other nations now that Willy narrative used Paradis as a scapegoat for the Eldian threat.
Elijah Jackson
>"Marley is not planning to genocide the Eldians" >the very nation who was conquered by Eldians in the past and holds grudge against the race will magically forget everything and treat everyone with equality because love always wins
so does that foreshadow eren being the last to own the attack titan?
Robert Collins
Didn't say the grudges would disappear, I only said Marley right now is not planning to kill off the Eldians, neither it has plans to do so, quite the contrary this is why they needed Eldian victims with Liberio attack, to separate them from the one in Paradis in the narrative.
Luis Robinson
>cape blowing in such a way as to simulate black wings LIKE A FALLEN ANGEEEELLLL
>why is eren's dream coming true instead of grisha's or kruger's?
Predestination/inevitabilty/fate. Eren is at the right place and time in history to make his dream come true: he's the first person to have both the Attack Titan and the Founding Titan, and probably the first one who accessed the paths. No matter how strongly Grisha or Kruger believed in their dreams, they couldn't impose their will on the rest of the world and make circumstances line up to suit their needs. Maybe, but maybe not. It could be that any subsequent owners will just be normal ATs, since the FT will pass to a different candidate if he dies before someone eats him.
Brayden Price
The narrative that will wear off once their common enemy is taken care off. Do you really think the world will fucking risk another global disaster in the making after Willy promoted Eren an Eldian as someone who could destroy the world? As of now only Magath "cares" about the Eldians.
Aiden Torres
damn poor Zeke
Carson Torres
That's a problem in the future on how to maintain the narrative, but having Magath who is in charge of the most powerful nation in the world is a big help. Right now their biggest concern is to not be genocided by Eren alongside the world.
Sebastian Rivera
ah, i got it! thanks for the explanation. i'm excited to see if they explain how ymir got her powers in the next chapter, though there is still one thing i'm a bit confused by, and it's why ymir must obey the royal blood?
Carter Hernandez
Who is in high risk of losing life since Marley is losing the battle in Paradis and let's not mention that Eldians are effective extinct since Zeke stopping Eren which was Grisha's wish means that his euthanasia plan would happen and since this was Grisha's wish, he essentially doomed every version of eldia.
Josiah Fisher
I'm sleepy with a fever so forgive the eslness
Dylan Gonzalez
this is actually a good theory
Brandon Thomas
If Magath dies this conversation is irrelevant, he is the only one with the power to do something, it's clear he still has a role to play, there is no narrative justification to have the head of state in the front lines if he is not going to do something with his power. And no Zeke won't succeed in sterilizing the Eldians, Grisha already told him and acted under that notion.
John Mitchell
So why the fuck would he create a meaningless conflict with the brothers and wish for him to stop Eren if he "knew" that Eren will win?
Liam Cook
See
Joseph Perez
In the middle of despair, people cling to anything that could give them a little bit of hope, it's easy to understand that.
Aiden Perry
Maybe because he might just saw a more complete vision where it was possible to stop Eren plan. Zeke already mentioned that Eren doesn't see everything in the future, he is not omniscient.
Dylan Sullivan
That would ruin everything presented so far on "time travel" in the series.
Jacob Wilson
But he knew about Zeke's wish so even if he believed it won't happen, it doesn't change the fact that he preferred the extinction of Eldians instead of the survival of Eldians. And Eren saw his future memory through his dad. Everything that Grisha knew, Eren knew it too.
David Cooper
And then he proceeded to give Ereh both titans, so your point?
Matthew Rivera
Again this is not about the survival of the Eldians as a race, is about the resurrection of Eldia as an empire built under the genocide of most of the human population. Grisha saw Eren activating the rumbling and asked Zeke to stop him.
Landon Turner
So my point is even for a moment he preferred the extinction of the Eldians and if the future isn't predetermined he basically fucked the Eldians, every version of it should Zeke win.
Jordan Thompson
>implying he knew about Zeke's plan He only saw Eren would rumble the world and destroy M*rley, Eren never showed him Zeke's plan, so Grisha still thinks Zeke is pro-Eldia. Maybe after that, Eren showed Grisha Zeke wanted to cause Eldian extinction and decided to give him the titans
