I've just finished the '99 anime and gotten up to date on the manga and I'm sorry. You were right. Hunter x Hunter is the ascended god king of Shounen, it's so good it surpasses Shounen to be one of the best worlds of all time in all mediums. No other Shounen can compare, they're rags compared to Hunter x Hunter.
>No other Shounen can compare, they're rags compared to Hunter x Hunter. Block you PATHS (but not stopping it, since both HxH and SnK are so damn good and we are lucky to have those 2 shining jems in the shit sea of shoenens)
There is absolutely no specimen of this website as deluded and as obnoxious as the "hunterchad". Their delusion knows no bounds, they unironically defend their shonen as if it was in the level of actual literature or something made for the ages, when it couldn't be further from the truth. The worst part of it is the intellectual dishonesty of the average hiatusfag. One might tell him that the "loose, deconstructed structure" of the series is nothing when compared to an average Tezuka manga, which was looser and more unorthodox in its events, it all runs off him. One could tell him that Togashi's famous stream of consciousness walls of text lack Urasawa's conciseness and good writing, he'll pretend to not hear you. One could tell him that Oda's worldbuilding absolutely destroys Togashi lazy crap of arranging earth continents in a different way and calling it a day, he'll pretend that you're not there. One might tell him that Peter Greenaway and Junji Ito make way better integration of classic works of art to the dramatic structure, making those parallels a powerful punctuation for the narrative, he'll pretend Togashi is at the same level. One could tell him there's more nuance in Tezuka's Crime and Punishment, the hiatusfag will feign ignorance on these subjects. There is no specimen more disgusting and more intellectually dishonest than your average hiatusfag, if you see one in the wild, it is your obligation, I repeat, your obligation, to mock his ignorance of the medium and tell him to go kill himself.

>SnK fights are only punching Imagine being this retard
Kevin Reyes
Hunter exam and yorkshin are a fucking masterpiece in 1999
Colton Adams
SnK is literally asspull after asspull.
>This random kid wants to get revenge for his mother OH SHIT he can be a titan too OH SHIT it's like that Shyamalan movie about the 1800's town in a forest in the modern day OH SHIT his dad gave him his titan powers OH SHIT he's also brother to the leader of the anti nazi revolution (btw it's totally not Schindlers List Anime Fanfiction) and OH SHIT he has the most importantest titan of all and OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT

>Tezuka Fucking right up there next to Urasawa as boring, overated boomer.
Jeremiah Evans
That's your only defense.
>S-S-Speedreader!
No, I read it. It's trash.
Alexander Morris
>Togashi fanboy calling anyone boring Pot meet kettle.
Jacob Rivera
>Urasawa's conciseness and good writing And there we go. Stop clinging to "top 10 anime authors ever XD" lists on buzzfeed.
Christopher Hall
That is literally how you find something like HxH, it hasn't even been released ONCE this year. Irrelevant piece of shit for pretentious faggots such as yourself. Are you afraid of real books? Is that why you read walls of text arranged in vignettes and deem yourself smart because of it? Read a book faggot.
>Irrelevant >Not release this year >Pretentious >"WAHHHHHH IT'S NOT POPULAR SO IT'S SHIT IF IT'S NOT BEING TALKED ABOUT BY 13 YEAR OLD WEEABOOS IT'S ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE REEEEEEEEEEEE" Grow the fuck up and stop clinging to popular things like a fucking sheep. >Read a book faggot. I read plenty of books. And if you can't handle some reading then manga isn't for you.
Anthony Robinson
HxH is a Shonen in name only, it has transcended the genre a long time ago. Glad you seen the light
Carter Sanchez
>liking popular things makes one a sheep >that is why I overrate the worst shonen published by Jump, because the mangaka can't draw for shit so he fills panels with words
Connor Baker
The fights are nowhere near as good as its predecessor
David Nelson
I hope next set of chapters will have even more text than Rihan's infamous monologue. Every single rotten brainlet such as yourself deserves to be punished by WORDS lots of WORDS
Oliver Lopez
The thing about Humble x Hustle is that the hiatuses are chosen strategically to weed out the the ADHD ridden speedreaders so only high quality intellectuals are left in the audience. The same is also true of the deliberate "bad" art, which removes the philistines who can only appreciate meanings on a superficial level.
David Phillips
If I want lots of WORDS I read Milton or Pynchon. Not fucking HunterxHunter published by Shonen Jump intended from ages 13-17.
Joshua Kelly
If you read HxH, you read the best piece of literature across all mediums.
Connor Reed
Delusional. The best text ever made (in the broadest possible sense of the word) is Final Fantasy IX.
Ayden Smith
HxH is not a manga that is meant to be read by a single generation. You need to make your children and your grandchildren read the manga and then bring spoilers to your grave.
Xavier Jackson
>my favourite bad manga is bad on purpose!
Jace Fisher
FFIX is great except for the last boss out of nowhere. The middle parts dragged on a bit too.
Christopher Allen
Good things about HxH: It's on an indefinite hiatus Bad things about HxH: Ridiculous and not self aware about it, every fight consists of who can ass pull until the opponent dies, just like Joe Joe but not self aware Horrible art Sometimes no art and it's just a pdf file for you to read Gons super power is to be beat up and be useless unless he asspulls his future self to win Dumb battle royal arc Dumb world building that constantly contradicts itself Took 21 fucking years to get to a single interesting plot point ever, the exploration of the big meme continent Everyone who reads it is gay(and a pedophile), as the only characters in the series are men and the two main characters (children) are in a gay relationship
Either anime is better than manga. HxH is too ambitious, it needs to be a team effort. Togashi would do well to draw from other people's knowledge sets, but he's a bit stubborn artistically. I really can't blame him though. Manga industry is about stepping on artists and backstabbing them.
Zachary Brooks
The fujo yaoi bait shit is too much for me, but there's plenty of characters and situations that take up way much more screentime.
>this thread wasn't giving you enough attention so you have to make another one
Daniel Wilson
It got moved from Yea Forums
Bentley Fisher
Three things I would complain about HxH would be
Since the two main characters are always so gifted and keep surprising people with their potential it doesn't feel like they're going against fate in any meaningful way. They were destined to be legendary, that kind of makes it hard for me to root for them.
None of the important characters seem to die, whenever someone is facing a tough situation that could result in death it either gets interrupted or neither side gives any casualties. As interesting as the arcs were this made it hard for me to get excited for them because no one important will ever die anyway.
The somewhat relates to the second point but the villains in this show take way too long to be put under a slight inconvenience. The only one who dies from the spiders group was the woman who didn't fight anyway, Youpi from the Royal Guard had fights lasting so long and he never seemed to get damaged in any meaningful way, that made it frustrating to watch after a certain point.
Other than these three complaints though, it really is as good as people say. Definitely worth watching.
Luis Wright
>Urasawa Neck yourself
Mason Cooper
The only complaint I have against HxH is Gon surviving the Chimera arc, and Youpi's death being disappointing compared to Pitou and Pouf.
Anthony Long
>Since the two main characters are always so gifted and keep surprising people with their potential it doesn't feel like they're going against fate in any meaningful way. They were destined to be legendary, that kind of makes it hard for me to root for them.
They lose objectevely more than any other shonen mc's tho. Gon was helpless against Hanzo in Hunter Exam and won psychologically, not physically. Gon was helpless against Hisoka in Heavens Arena and easily lost to him. Gon and Killua were useless in Yorknew Arc and got captured 2 times, their strength and 'talent' changed nothing. In Chimera Ant arc they were strong enough only to win against weakest Chimera Ants, Gon needed to sacrifice his nen itself to be able to fight Pitou.
Your point doesn't make any sense.
Joshua Sanchez
Their current power isn't what I'm talking about, I'm talking about how I don't feel excited for them when they get stronger because the show repeats how talented they are every two episodes. It's like watching a child of very talented musicians learn playing music from a very talented teacher, what am I supposed to be surprised about here? There's nothing unexpected happening. Sorry though, maybe I worded it poorly.
Cameron Sanchez
>shounenshit >unexpected OH NO NONONONONO PFFFF
Joshua Smith
Despite their talent they are outclassed by most characters that get introduced in each arc.
Asher Hughes
Yeah, i see what you mean. But what i like about that in Hunter x Hunter, is that story explicitly tells us that our mc are super cool and have 1 on 10.000.000 talent, but they actually lose a lot in the story in comparasing to 'underdog' mc in other shonen who 'weaker' than everyone around them, but actually win almost everytime
James Carter
Thinking about it again that way, you guys are right actually. Didn't consider that neat contrast before. I still think It's annoying how it keeps getting repeated every 2 episodes but like you said, they do actually lose a lot despite all their talent and despite how special they are. Thanks for making me think about it in a different way.
