Tsunderes always win.

Tsunderes are made to win, that's the whole point.

Yeah but, why?

Taming of the Shrew syndrome or sadomasochistic disorder

just finish watching oreimo?

I actually like thosr

Mc doesnt get gains.
Easy character development.

>leader/commander/major good guy gets hyped up as the absolute strongest character
>gets one fight before dying to the main antagonist

Attached: 1563359896458.png (240x240, 88K)

>MC is a pussy magnet for no other reason than because the writer wants him to be

Attached: 1453648512682.png (185x154, 20K)

But he's so nice!

If being nice automatically gave you free pussy, there wouldn't be an /r9k/

>if you kill him you'll be as bad as him

Attached: 1549806469672.png (1000x1000, 345K)

>detail gets brought up regarding something and seems important
>occurs and actually has an impact on something
>then it gets ignored and retconned

Attached: 1540973194925.jpg (448x442, 63K)

>/r9k/
>nice

>Character takes 5 in real time minutes to transform
>Opponent doesn't take this opportunity to push their shit in
>They just stand there and narrate the transformation in fact
Fuck this trope so much
All suspense jumps out the window with this shit

Attached: 1453226347628.png (153x173, 55K)

Its not really a trope, but the 'screamy' comedy that a lot of manga/anime have is just grating. In general outside of a few exceptions, most manga and anime just isn't very funny.

>Yandere loses
>doesn't murder winner

Shut up about 3D, incel.

>villain commits heinous crimes against humanity
>good guy forgives him after beating him and lets him live

Attached: 13c5be57c921cdee.jpg (512x293, 32K)

>tsundere wins
>instantly loses 100% of their personality

Breast envy.

It's so rare seeing anime girls with ~A cup breasts actually embracing to live with. I could more or less see which one has bigger breasts (especially when in revealing outfits) without shoehorning that lame breast envy trope.

The only way it could be worse is if the DFC girl is extremely self conscious about it and it's played so seriously to the point she tries to find ways to increase it.

This is especially bad when the protagonist just killed dozens of henchmen without a second taught but hesitated against the big bad

>MC struggles as one of the only few in his world without powers
>haha just kidding, he gets them later or somehow had them all along

Attached: 0010487_boku-no-hero-academia-character-visual-towel.jpg (1450x1160, 369K)

Reminds me of how derailed Ryuujou from Kancolle gets by fans: she canonically is proud of her flat chest.

Lets be honest, you wouldn't watch a show about a guy without powers strugling in a world with powers.

>Lets be honest, you wouldn't watch a show about a guy without powers strugling in a world with powers.

Attached: batman.png (625x352, 155K)

An example to make things clear?

This infuriated me. It even plays up about how much he knows about all the heroes like he's going to use that knowledge to overcome his shortcomings. Nope. He is literally given the power of power escalation.

Attached: adlet_x_reader__childish_banters_by_eternalalice24-d9kqidq.jpg (512x287, 18K)

I 100% would

good response

Ironically the only time I've seen this trope done well is in a webtoon, UnOrdinary. It makes sense why the MC hides his powers and later abuses them to take over the school

Wait isn't that the cringe shit that I see ads for? Holy fuck people actually read that, I thought it was akin to porn ads or something lmao

It's actually decent imo. Yeah 90% of them are absolute cancer but a few are actually kino. I would unironically recommend Sweet Home to people.

It's a cool idea in theory but difficult to pull off in a satisfying and non-asspullish way. The MC needs to be able to fight in some capacity if it's an action series or else he'll get relegated to being the powerless plan guy.

yeah but just think of bnha which did this but is still a steaming pile of shit

It can be done, play it as something like Tenkyou no Alderamin.

which didn't do that*

>dark-skinned character with a non-Japanese name
>his/her origins are unknown and when they are revealed it's some stupidly named fictional country located very vaguely in some part of Africa/Asia/America
>meanwhile some white character within the same series may come from a country with a real name

I feel bad for dark skinned foreigners getting the short end of the stick when it come to what country they came from, especially when the series take place in a modern day Earth setting. This is different from dark-skinned full Japanese characters where I can easily tell they're either tanned or are of Okinawan origin.

ooooo that one is always so so bad

>antagonist escapes after a long fight scene and is later used to progress the plot
its just like how Bethesda keeps re-releasing skyrim. 0 creativity but gets more content out of the same shit

its even worse if they go through a redemption arc because thats just insult to injury

There is a comic about that, called Marvels and is considered one of the best Marvel comics

Eh, All Might is still permanently out of combat at this point, so it has the same result in the end.
BnHA has much bigger issues than that one cliche anyway.

Well yeah, Japanese humor is far different from Western humor

>Tsundere
>Personality
Pick one

>cartoonishly violent and bitchy tsundere ends up winning the MC-bowl
I can accept it as long as they get tamed by the dick, and only use violence occassionally to deal with their uncontrollable desire.

>previous MC becomes nigh unstoppable god who beats ludicrously powerful enemies
>inexplicably almost loses to small fry in new series that are nowhere near as powerful as the previous villain

Attached: jojo pt 4.jpg (800x600, 176K)

Asta from Black Clover

He hardly can be counted as struggling, or lacking powers, considering the ridiculous superhuman shit he pulls all the time. Also, Batman is just the guy with no powers when he stars with other heroes, on his own comic he fights the homeless crazies of Gotham who, for the most part, don't have powers themselves.

The army of the dead in Game of Thrones

>Female character who's shown to be competent and strong still gets damsel in distressed and the male MC has to save her

A show about a serial killer that goes around hunting heroes because they're the toughest prey out there could be great. He could not murder them if that would be too much, maybe take their masks as a reminder.

Thanks for making my decision easier to not watch incelbait like that
After SAO never again

Not to shill but the show Bad Boys is about that premise

The fact that Allmight is alive but powerless, but cool with that, is very interesting. Boku no Hero has many flaws, but it didn't take the easy way out with the adult characters, like having the parents dead or the master dying for a cheap feels moment after fullfilling his usefulness. As a result, you have some genuine moments like Deku's mom telling him that she doesn't want his son going to a school that gets ravaged by villains every month, or Endeavor realizing how cool Allmight is with having sacrificed his quirk and hero career and number one spot, which in turn made him realize the fundamental difference between both of them.

Why are they so obsessed with having the serious character explaining the joke, ussually by screaming at the rest of the ussually idiotic cast?

People still complain about it but Japan hardly does it anymore.

>"No MC-kun! if you use 'that' then you won't be able to return to being human / your body can't take the stress / you won't be able to walk again."
>uses "that"
>after he wakes up hurt there's literally zero permanent damage from using it

Interesting, it is a cartoon? I've never heard about it. Though that was the shtick of Kraven the Hunter, so it's not like it is a new idea.

other than Kengan Asura, is there any series where the technique that shortens the MC's lifespan actually kills him?

No, it's a normal show, on Hulu I think or some service like that. I'm surprised you haven't heard of it it's been advertised a bunch

No one on /r9k/ is nice. They just confuse cowardice for courtesy.

I still see it a ton in manga, not just anime.

Maybe they get a kick out of characters with over the top reactions.
Saiki's deadpan, sarcastic approach to the formula was the best. The straight-man shit he had to say to his dumb friends was actually funny for once.

Attached: 1496710686169.jpg (1280x720, 134K)

>isekai starts of making it clear that this show is not like "those other" isekai shows out there
>within 3 episodes the MC has a harem and an overpowered weapon/ability

>batman has no powers
>he lives in a world of super powers
Wrong on both accounts. Batman has genius level intellect and his wealth might as well be a super power. And 80% of batman’s World does not have powers.

Nananananananana Batman

Because someone else did it first and the average mangaka, is barely able to come up with a unique premise, let alone original plot developments. And so, they copy from other stories. It's not unique to manga, but the medium is notably more derivational compared to other forms of literature/entertainment.

So Vegeta in every single arc and movie?

>>batman has no powers
>>he lives in a world of super powers
>Wrong on both accounts. Batman has genius level intellect and his wealth might as well be a super power.
Damn I guess Bill Gates is a superhero now
>And 80% of batman’s World does not have powers
Which is more of the norm than my hero academia also when the 20% of people who do have superpowers are all Superman tier, it's even more impressive being powerless

>lighthearted series suddenly decides to take a darker, serious turn
>loses most of the charm it had and now it fucking sucks

Attached: f13.png (261x394, 87K)

>MC goes in rage/berserk mode, yells, unleashes shockwave
>MC's supporting character(s) says "MC-kun...!!!"
>MC says cringey edgy shit like "kill" or "die" over and over again
>Unleashes strong attack on bad guy who's shocked/says "i-impossible...!!!",
>Supporting /waifubait character jumps in front of MC/hugs him and says some cheesy shit like "Come back to how you were before, I'll always be by your side"
>MC snaps out of rage mode and sees that supporting/waifubait character got hurt to try and stop him
It was cool at first but so many action anime does this that it's so annoying to watch.
Shield Hero literally did this not long ago: youtube.com/watch?v=yB1gGp5Yv7Y

best trope

I will give Akame Ga Kill at least some credit for actually going through with turning Tatsumi into a dragon for consequences. Keeping his mind and getting his loli-sized waifu while remaining a dragon and even having kids, might be a little stretching it, but hey.

Batman is garbage, go back to Yea Forums if you like that steaming pile of manure.

All Might should have died. He hasn't done anything sunce he lost his powers. He's just in the background taking space.

>guy walks in on girl changing
>she starts shouting calling him a pervert and throwing stuff at him

>girl walks in on guy changing
>she starts shouting calling him a pervert and throwing stuff at him

the fact that he's alive kept society from crumbling apart
if he died the entire world would instantly lose all hope and riots would break out.

user, having beyond olympic tier physical capability across the board would make you a superhuman in the real world.
Like a cartoonishly powerful anomaly.
He's also a genius.
Not a normal real world genius who's just got a high IQ and probably maladjusted and knows a lot of essentially useless shit.
He's the bullshit "polymath" genius that's good at damn near everything and can magic shit up out of thin air with SCIENCE!!!
He's also a master of all martial arts. All of them. And when martial arts is a bullshit deus ex machina that
you to everything from tank bullets and take down jet fighters to shoot psychic bolts it's basically just magic that uses interpretive dance as a medium
And he's rich as fuck
In a world like his, wealth affords you demigod hood and access to things that are unbelievably powerful.
He has the greatest power that any hero can have as well. Marketability and the author on his side.

user, calling Batman powerless is like calling a nuke a biscuit.
It's stupid and wrong.

>girl is being groped
>she throws her arms up and squeals instead of making any fucking attempt at either batting away the molester or simply fucking backing up

I get the whole "its more embarrassing for your family to let them know you've been raped" absolute retardedness, but this is just fucking stupid.

Attached: chrome_UDT4weDFFP.png (939x488, 416K)

Or the polar opposite of it, girls groping each other.
All tropes involving breasts are shit.

That's typically how a lot of those stories start though, and hook people.

And then it becomes a giant wankfest.

>MC is about to confess
>Heavy breeze or train passes by on fucking traintracks
>Girl doesnt hear it
>MC says "nevermind"

ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?

Confessing is such a meme anyway. It doesn't even work IRL.

Season 2 NEVER. :(

Sometimes it does, actually. Well back in the 2000's it did, in highschool.
But that trope fucking kills me every time.

>MC struggles as one of the only few in his world without powers
>haha just kidding, he gets them later or somehow had them all along
This can definitely be done properly though. Like Mx0, in which the mc doesn't have any powers but everyone thinks he does so he doesn't get brain fried. He eventually does obtain powers, but it does feel deserved since he starts at the absolute bottom of the power scale in terms of his magic.

true

Well, that's only true if you don't value characters besides the amount of punches that they throw

His death wouldn't make that much of a difference, everybody knows that he doesn't have powers anymore. They even started calling Endeavor the number one.

The point is that you can't really keep the story until the end with the guy being powerless. You can make it feel organic when he inevitably gets some trick.

What if there were both a Tsundere and a Tomboy childhood friend competing?

the tsundere's probably winning

It's japanese culture at it's finest how much train groping do you think that goes unpunished

It would have if they didn't spend like half the damn first season in that forest. Should have whittled that down to only like three episodes.

They've been cracking down on that hard in the past decade.

>"If you kill me, you'll be just like m- OH SHIT WHAT ARE YOU DOIN!?"

Attached: hqdefault.jpg (480x360, 12K)

>tfw Phantom Blood played it straight
wish Araki could keep his track record

That's nice to say, but it's not being show.
Allmight should be doing public speaking apperance.
There should be a story where allmight is in public, forgets he doesn't have powers but still tries to help some woman trapped in her car after an accident.
Some little asshole kids in a quirk gang who're going to rob a bank or something witness Allmight, powerless trying his best and dying in the process.
The leader runs towards him and uses the powers that made him the terror of most of the districts in schools to rip the door of the handles.
The girl sucks up the flames while the leader rips open the still burnign hot car.
Allmight dives in and pulls out the child trapped in the back seat while the other member who was the most reticent to join uses his sabertooth hands to slice open the seatbelt and rush allmight the woman and the kid out.

The crowd witnesses allmight saving some kids and the town ne'er do wells selflessly helping.
The woman and child are rushed to the hospital while the crowd cheers.
They try to skulk off but Allmight stands in front of them and tells them that he's proud of them and that this is what it means to be a hero.

Some simple story where he inspires through other means is more powerful then him simply rushing in and punching the shit out of stuff.
While that is inspiring and awesome, it's not as relatable as a weak man who does good doing good even when he's going to do.

And the parallels with him and deku in a simple moment like that will make the editors who're all about that shit cream themselves.

>antagonist doesn't want to kill the MC because no one else can match them

Attached: 1566126110290.jpg (640x480, 249K)

>Cool guy character is surrounded by fangirls only for him to be all aloof and coldly shun them.
I get anime is wish fulfillment, but holy shit. No straight man in real life would act like this.

Attached: 68563995953.jpg (435x435, 97K)

Only losers who wish to be the cool guy and fangirls think that.

im saying not so much on trains, but literally being molested or attacked.

An easy illustration is that fucking gif of megumeme slapping that other hoes tiddes. Note: she is making to attempt to defend herself, which is what a normal human being's reflex is.

At least it's better than laugh tracks

Have you not seen any japanese show ever?

>funny thing happens
>cut to B list celeb's face in corner
>EEEEEEEEEEEH?
>show i ta few more times
>different EEEEEEEEH from an idol and an actor
>both audience members laugh

lol that got a chuckle out of me

>Mc has powers but discards them every time they manifest and kills them on cold blood

Attached: images (6).jpg (311x473, 24K)

Does HxH count? Gon was braindead until the deus ex loli

"He thinks i'm cute! Guess i'll be a thirsty cum dumpster now".

I did it back in high school, but it's always cringe as fuck when you remember it and you can easily see that you could have skipped the whole cringe romcom arc of your life by not being retarded

so true kek

Still better than a laugh track at some random comment that makes retards laugh even if the comment was unfunny. At least the dumb eeeh is funny by itself

Maybe because he lost his nen, depends whether or not we ever see him again before Togashi finally enter the eternal hiatus

>Various side characters have important info related to the MC's backstory
>None of them say anything until they're absolutely forced to

You are arguing about retarded sounds that make retards laugh. Retard

he didn't train his powers, that's it, also he's still god crazy, he beat kira while near death.

The black haired "cool and aloof" JK has overtaken the bitchy tsundere.

Attached: 1527523949196.jpg (1280x1819, 476K)

>trope where character desparetly wants the arrow
>doesn't get the arrow

Attached: 0tM2KrliR6GkCihrlxDueA.png (584x524, 291K)

That sounds fun honestly and a lot better than the antagonist/villain not killing the MC because he was too busy gloating or some shit.

Kindness and 'nice guys' are not the same thing. But even still, kindness is not something that attracts women, but it is something that helps stabilize long relationships.

plot armor is a super power retard.

A little too late for her tho.

Attached: Utaha.jpg (1980x5984, 550K)

Speaking of which:
>Aloof a darked hair is popular with the entire school, yet has no friends nor has a boyfriend until the MC somehow befriends her. She starts to actively persuing him and tries to seduce him. MC-kun is either to densed to notice her or tries to run from her attempts.

This is exactly what I thought Black Clover would be about and lost interest when the MC got his super special magic power.

>"you'll catch a cold if you do something that slightly lowers your body temperature"

>Strongest character in the series
>Struggling
In all seriousness, I really loved both the show and what parts of the LN I managed to read before they licensed it. Feel bad for anyone who actually paid attention to the ED/OPs because they spoiled the villain.

youtu.be/_1R1meRmX4I

Attached: 1532819201125.png (1280x720, 65K)

Most mangaka are sex less incels. They probably think all women are tsunderes.

Ken Akamatsu though.

i just want anime where they go right the fuck through with the rage/berserk mode

>Suddenly, poilitics!

Attached: angry dome.gif (213x201, 429K)

Post two Anime that do this.

Attack on Titan
Kotetsujo no Kabaneri

there's also Manyuu Hikenchou but it stopped before it could get heavily into it

The attitude of "war and violence are absolutely evil and bad even though it is part of both human and non-human nature."

I liked Lord Marksman and Vanadis and the second Lodoss War series (Chronicles of a Heroic Knight) because it showed the positive aspects of violence and war and how they do get shit done.

lucky trips confirm

Attached: 1536017006105.jpg (1366x768, 139K)

This is a god-tier trope, what are you talking about?

>Damn I guess Bill Gates is a superhero now
Bill Gates also isn't a master martial artist with superhuman strength, retard. Batman is nowhere even remotely human.

based

Attached: 1543956211933.jpg (588x814, 211K)

Isn't Utaha always BTFO Eriri though in her show? I believes she wins the manga, but Megumi wins the main series.

If you had to choose between more Asuka clones, Hyouki clones or just some snarky Yukino/Senjou clones, which you all pick? If I'm honest, the red/blonde headed tsundere is about as played out as WW2 FPS.

I wouldn't mind tall girls with long white pony tail and red eyes

Attached: Hachiman staring at Yukino in Yukata.jpg (1896x2132, 342K)

She wins her spin-off manga, not the main manga adaption.

Being nice does actually give you free pussy. A woman can give any man a Sex Token (a Nice) for kindness and if a man collects 25 Nices he can redeem a virgin vagina at his local Incel store

Because their joke personality is a tool for the writer/author to drag character development out of in order to lengthen the plot either naturally or until the creator has lined his/her pockets full of cash.

Are you twelve years of age? How can you not figure this out?

Attached: every manga ever.jpg (640x480, 31K)

Utaha does tend to 1 up Eriri, but when either girl isn't chosen by Tomoya, they decide to ditch him for the competition. Yes, Utaha has her victory in her spinoff only because she had no competition from Eriri or Megumi, Mayu notwithstanding.
I do think that snarky types like Yukino and Hitagi are novel enough for me to get into if the banter isn't dull and the story keeps me invested enough in them.

Trope I'd love to see

>Two girls hanging out
>One girl develops feelings for the other
>Thinks things are getting steamy
>The girl can't take it anymore
>Confesses to her girl crush
>Girl crush is utterly repulsed and disgusted at being confessed to by her
>Girl who confessed laughs it off but sobs herself to tears in her room

Can we get some realistic yuri where everything isn't all sugar and rainbows?

Attached: 7c4.gif (295x221, 2.97M)

'Realistic' stories are decently common, but they don't make for great long form narratives.
'Neko no Mail - Igai na Kareshi' is one of the most realistic shoujo manga, but you couldn't write a full series from it.
Or a SoL series about a couple of real High School students would be incredibly boring and/or depressing. Theres only so many times you can see a guy or girl jerk it to whatever celebrity is en vogue before you are bored.

Then you have stories that are just depressing, regardless of realism. Those are only interesting if the consumer just wants to feel sad for a while, or as a venting place for the author. They also fall into the trap that 'Reality is depressing' and that 'good things don't happen in the real world', which just turns into an exercise in cynicism and trying to get grittier and darker throughout the plot.

>EEEEEEEEHHH???

More like the fact that japs dont believe in the concept of individualism, and they dont seem to grasp in the concept of abuse.

Trust me, they really dont.

ALL OF MY HATE

like is japanese humor even real comedy? or is anti comedy?

Oh, well there's this.

Attached: 1567641581604.png (500x411, 247K)

The tomboy childhood friend beat the fuck out of the big-tittied girly girl tsundere.

considering how miserable fucks the japanese were during the 50s, 60s and 70s, i guess japanese nihilism is just something that is beyond comprehension.

>abusive bad girl is a self insert if author is female
>universe gets bend over at her will

>somehow the girl is supposed to be a good person in the inside

Of course worst fucking girl has a snaggletooth.

Speaking of shit tropes from pic
>First girl lewded wins
>First girl wins
>Worst girl wins
>Mary sue wins
>Big titty girl loses

>Character is introduced with a cool and versatile power.
>Character never uses the power in a cool or creative way ever again and the character relies on one kinda lame application of that power.

shit taste detected

Author is a fucking hack and she ripped herself off

>previous MC becomes nigh unstoppable god who beats ludicrously power enemies

I love Jojo but Araki does this shit too much, mostly in the earlier parts
>Hierophant green

>Silver Chariot
>Magician's Red
>The Hand
>Echoes
>Heaven's Door
>Killer Queen
>Sheer Heart Attack

>Whitesnake
>Tusk Act 3

Come on, Okuyasu having an overpowered stand he isn't smart enough to use is hilarious.

What's total bullshit is Old Joseph being put in situations that could be solved with the slightest application of Hamon like D'Arby's glass or the invisible baby. Why keep bringing back the best character if you're just going to make him literally retarded
