It went downhill as soon as they introduced the power level BS.

It was such a red flag. I thought I was going to be able to bear it, but series just kept getting worse.

While I agree about the time, I don't consider it the cause.
It's more like the pacing has gone mad, it became a constant race against the time to get as strong as possible, instead of immerse the reader more into the setting.

Yeah I'm thinking I agree with this.

I still like the characters, their arcs, interactions, relationships, but as battle series it has terrible fights, asspulls, terrible power scaling.
So much wasted potential

Again I agree about most of them are too one sided but the choreography is really good.

I can forgive the powerlevel bullshit if I think of it as a joke setup for Escanor.

Choreography isn't the only important thing though. It's true Nakaba is good at drawing them but the fights never have any consequences to the story and are ripe with asspulls, powerlevels and nobody actually dies.

I'm into fairies so I lost all interest when it stopped being about them.
