Eva's great. Gunbuster's not bad either but I don't like it as much as others seem to. The time dilation aspect is cool and the ending is nice. It kind of failed as a mecha anime for me though because there's only like one good fight iirc. The stuff at the end with the giant black hole bomb or whatever it was I don't remember having much if any fighting. I imagine someone will wonder how I enjoyed Eva if this is the case but Eva has really nice mecha fights and it didn't feel lacking in them either. Maybe Eva's non-mech stuff is just more interesting to me than Gunbuster's.
I want to watch more mecha but I just haven't felt like it after binging UC Gundam. Only seen a few other series outside of those.
