Yami's secondary abilities are believable.
Oda equates darkness to the void. A void is an undefined space with mysterious powers. Power stealing, and a pocket dimensions aren't too farfetched for the abstract concept and similar ideas are common in fiction and religion.

Hobi, on the hand, is stupid broken. Turning people into toys and then removing ALL MEMORIES from ANYONE associated with the victim makes 0 sense in the context of toys and child's play and has too much reach. I can buy the mind control bit, since a child tells what her toy can do, but the memory erasures are completely unrelated. It's broken, and comes off as a convenient plot device to make Doffy's reign believable.

We don't know his backstory at all, Oda's drawing of him as a child implies there's more to him than it seems.

If you mean "He can transfer DF abilities" no, that's not possible and never was.

1. Birdcage, but moreso what it presents. A shitty plot device to bring stakes back to the arc after Oda stacked the odds way against Doffy.
2. Dressrosa going on for so long had an adverse effect on the entire story's pacing, and we're seeing it with how Oda offpanels lots of neat interactions.

The vinsmokes were decent characters. They fullfilled their purpose well. Their only flaw is that the 3 bros had almost the same personality.

I mean everytime he fights he has to tank attacks and it's made an important point that pain gets amplified for him. It was stated that Judge got rid of their "unecessary" emotions only. Once the Sanji backstory was done, their new purpose got clear during the weddig ambush when they were completely fine with their own death, proving Judge to be a reckless naive person and his scientific might to be harmful and borderline horrific.

Nigga the fact that they're father and daughter was a key aspect to their relationship and combining them would create a literal void of nothing that we ended up getting. Also the motherfucker is strong enough to hop across the country on one leg, get shot in that same leg, and endure a hailstorm of heavy metal spikes while simultaneously hopping on that same leg in order to fight an opponent. His fight with Diamante is a testament to his strength and conviction, which Diamante severely underestimated and it cost him the fight.

The Vinsmokes on the other hand probably could've afforded to be a single character. Judge is the only one story-wise that really matters in the grand scheme of things, even though he's equally as shitty as his kids for being dumb enough to trust Big Mom not double-crossing him despite supposedly being a genius scientist. The only reason there are multiple kids is because Oda wanted to do fun Super Sentai stuff with them, but outside of that superficial detail they're garbage characters who undergo zero character arc whatsoever.

Oden's basically a soft parallel to Luffy in terms of having a wide variety of followers, he's got two minks, a not-fishman, and a not-okama as close followers.

Being a cocky asshole like Yonji was to Sanji ended up causing his face to get dented in. And acting like a lusty pervert over cute girls is a pretty glaringly unnecessary feature as far as I see it.

Also that scene in the wedding only really established how big of a moron Judge was. He even said himself earlier in the arc that the reason he tried to get Sanji back was so he wouldn't have to give up another one of his sons to that "deranged woman" so why was crying like a bitch when he inevitably got betrayed? He's such a colossal moron and doesn't do anything other than give Sanji more of a sob story that he never really needed.

It's like he just forgot about the reason why he hunted after Sanji to begin with. That lack of believability along with his hollow personality of "gotta make strong soldiers because muh North Blue" is what makes him such an bad antagonist and character in general.
