Where I live you can legally download anything as long as it's legal to use and own in the first place (software's out cuz license), and as long as you're not sharing it yourself (which is why I only torrent shit cops are oblivious to existance of and no one will bother to sue me after in my shithole - like anime). Most of the time it's something you can't obtain legally no matter how much money you throw at the screen, which is why it's justifiable. If you can obtain it legally or if someone sells pirated copies if it (or makes money off pirating it indirectly) it's a different story.
