I recently finished reading the old baki dou, how did you guys feel about its ending? why would the author build up musashi for this long only for this bitch to suck the soul out of him? why does his series always end abruptly like with introducing the sumo dude lol

It all went wrong when Motobe jumped in the middle of the Yujiro vs Musashi fight. Everything was great up to that point.

It was so stupid. I'd bet my heart that he would not have jumped in had Musashi been holding real swords. When Yujiro wanted to kill him for that I was all the way behind him.

Well, it was not all bad. I kind of liked Musashi fighting the cops and then Hanayama, but the last fight against Baki was complete wankery.

Itagaki killed of Retsu because he suddenly developed a retarded fear that his reputation might suffer.
I am done with it.

I feel it was a wet fart but it fit in with the whole theme of Musashi not belonging in this world. Since he was a foreigner he couldn't be dealt with, because killing him would kill a character by taking him into the old world of war, and defeating him conventionally didn't do shit to him, as he'd just fuck off, get better and continue killing.
What annoys me the most about the whole thing is that it's the best answer thematically but narratively it's fucking shit. And then, Baki's fight was supposed to defeat him in our terms before he was sent off, but it was so short and underwhelming compared to so many other fights, especially considering Motobe and our boy Retsu had much better shows. I think Itagaki simply didn't execute it very well.

Seriously, what the fuck was up with that, he’s fucking Yujiro Hanma he was fucking about primarily, he was in no danger.

He did it because it was his duty as a student of "the old world". He wasn't really protecting them physically or because they needed help, but preserving their purity as martial artists of the modern world.
Which is stupid in Yuujiro's opinion, obviously, since he was in fucking Vietnam, but Motobe is a big softie.

I download the raws of untranslated chapters from a MEGA file, then read the translations made by the baki translator user on fireden

In hindsight I liked it. Musashi was a very interesting character the way he was portrayed here. Memetobe run was legit amazing, the threads during those weeks were 10/10.
As for Musashi getting sent out like that, it was a way to make him lose to Baki both physically but more importantly philosophically with the sword catching and the effort vs fun stuff without having Musashi 100% be styled on. It was basically another iteration of Baki vs Yujiro and Baki vs Pickle. The low point of the part was the endless Musashi vs cops wanking.
Finallt Itagaki's art reached its peak during Baki Dou and has stayed there thus far.

Yuujiro isn't even a martial artist, he's just a fucking madman, he says it himself. Motobe is just autistic

Technically Yujiro mastered most if not all martial arts, he just is so strong he doesn't need to use techniques like a weakling.

It was suppose to be Baki killing his father and then seeking all his half siblings his father sired with women all over the world since Ogre said he slept with many women around the world.

There can only be one Hanma in existence at any given point in time which is why Ogre was so shocked at seeing his father's ghost because remember, Ogre repeatedly denied the supernatural exists when he talked to the Chinese grandmaster. He thought chakra, energy, and all that martial arts mumbo jumbo was all bullshit.

Then when Ogre meets his dad's ghost, he told his dad to fuck off even though he is not suppose to believe in ghosts.

If you train enough you also stay young and powerful for a shitton of time, Baki trained to much he is still staying a 19 year old despite having gone though a decade of time.

Why do you think every mention of the year is 20XX? Baki has a shifting timeframe.
