It's fun.

It was pretty good but I think people are really overrating it. I would explain why I think this but I doubt anyone would be willing to discuss and give me counter arguments.

Since the others are shitposting I'll take pity on you. The show is just so goddamn strong in establishing it’s characters. One of my favourite characterizing lines in episode 1 is Sayaka’s “You must have known Homura in a previous life” which subtly foreshadows the truth and frames Sayaka as a hopeless romantic, again foreshadowing future events. Six years later and nothing even came close in terms of tight plotting and characterization.

Serious answer, the art direction is top notch, the patchwork dark fantasy style is some of my favorite anime visuals, story is dark, characters have some complexity. Also if you went in blind thinking it was moe it was a pretty great surprise.
