does it get better? im on episode 8 right now and so far its been meh, but since ive heard so many good things about it i want to keep pushing
i was expecting more about music itself instead of all the sol stuff with just the band in t he background
episode 7 was nice when they reached the performance but even before that it was just more sol stuff that was all around boring
K-ON!
like they're already on their second year and have only had one performance so far, basically been dicking around doing nothing for the entire show except for that
No. It’s called moeshit for a reason.
are the songs and the lead up to it ever worth it?
>ive heard so many good things about it
the question to always ask is what kinds of people you heard from
mostly just boards here and one or two people from work who liked it
K-On! isn't about music. It's more about what the band go through as a group of friends.
disappointing
i heard the ed and saw who the clear best girl mio was so i was hoping for some good stuff like that
Season 2 is of higher quality. But the show is never really about music.
The movie however does have quite a lot of them playing music.
Yes, the emotional payoff at the end of S2 is definitely worth it in my opinion.
But if you're watching SoL comedy for the plot, you've clearly misunderstood the appeal of the genre. Anime like this is supposed to be enjoyed slowly, as a relaxing distraction from one's daily real life worries and problems. You're not supposed to marathon it as fast as possible to tick off a box on your backlog.
If you feel it's boring, drop it and watch something else. Keep in mind that S2 is twice as long and covers only a single school year instead of S1's two, so the pace will be about 1/4th as fast as it is in this point of the anime for a good two thirds of the whole series.
While I wouldn't even put S1 in my top 20 Kirara series S2 is much better. It depends whether you like SoL though.
If you'd heard good things about the series surely you also heard that it is mostly SoL. 90% of the screenshots you should've seen is them sitting around.
i enjoyed yuru yuri a ton, and so far this just feels like that show but with music elements and not as funny
Season 1 sucks, just go straight to s2 if you already know the characters.
You're more than halfway through. Just finish it.
This series never really tries to be comedic in the same way that YrYr does. This is closer to the iyashikei type of SoL, at least if you ignore the 1/10 final episode of S1.
>and saw who the clear best girl mio was so i was hoping for some good stuff like that
With shit taste like that no wonder you can't enjoy this masterpiece.
That said, s2 still blows s1 out of the water in nearly every way so since you are so close to finishing the latter anyways just stick for a bit longer to decide.
The songs range from awful to mediocre. Hearing fuwa fuwa time became painful after a while.
IMO K-On!! is one of the blandest slice-of-life shows out there; it doesn't have good comedy like Azumanga or Minami-ke, it doesn't have good healing-properties like Aria or Tamayura, and it doesn't have a strong gimmick like NNB or Hidamari. The production was great because of Kyoani at its peak and they really did their best to inflate the source material, but the lack of real substance made for a tiring experience.
K-On! is more about sol than the music, so really it depends on whether you like the sol genre. Personally I love it.
I wish that bucket was my mouth
It gets substantially better, but not substantially different. It never becomes primarily about the music.
Very bad taste right here
Surprisingly, most high-school girls dicking around with each other don't focus on emphasizing comedy, gimmicks, or soothing NEET souls in their daily interactions.
