MAL has shown how unreliable its been in the past where there was a data breach. Users couldn't even access their lists for a while. No one actually cares if you track series, but there are better alternatives.
Also, their website code is garbage. I keep getting redirected to the front page when I click on a google search entry for a specific anime.

Not him but I use AniList. Database isn't quite as complete but it's got most stuff and I prefer the UI. I avoid the community forum stuff so I can't say but it's probably just as cancerous as MAL.
