At what age did you grow out of Hunter x Hunter
Ayden Johnson
Carson Jones
How do people even get into hunter x hunter?
Didn't air on TV here and it wasn't one of the popular shonen manga like dragonball too.
Dominic King
>here
What shithole do you live in
Mason Cooper
I still haven't read or watched HxH.
All I know about it is "the hunter is weakest when he becomes the hunted" or something.
What are they hunting anyway?
Aiden Bennett
Ryan Powell
>What are they hunting anyway?
New chapters

>humans are the REAL monsters!
truly insightful stuff
Levi Perez
when i caught up with the manga last fucking year and nothing new came out from this franchise ever since, never bothered with the anime.
Elijah Long
Brayden Hall
but hunter times hunter is shonen as in aimed at the primary school boy audience
Noah Fisher
18 which was the same age as when I got into HxH with all these shitposts telling me that this is the most "kino" manga/anime of all time.
Juan Hill
Over a decade ago, when I was about 18 years old, when the chimera ant arc started and Togashi started the hiatus saga. Never finished the ant arc, never looked back.
Easton Martin
I know nothing about this series but fuck. That whole page looks horrible, is it really so bad?
Luis Torres
Yes
Blake Ward
I was expecting a monster hunter type of thing but it wasn't.
>tfw no comfy hunter manga
Owen Barnes
The mediocre art, excessive use of textboxes, horrible paneling, the ability to appease a large fanbase and so on just makes me think this guy should've been a writer.
Ayden Phillips
Dropped this series this year since it's pretty clear that Togashit was completely full of shit in his last interview and has no desire to actually work towards completeing this series and is just stringing along his audience for some quick cash.
Henry Price
I'd have no complaints about that
Nathaniel Foster
not the same user but how terrible writing , i'm glad i never wasted my time on this manga , tried the anime a few years ago but i couldn't get into it , it was so boring and bland.
Lucas Harris
Nothing, They are just generic adventurers and have their own pathetic guild. Just like in a shitty isekai.
Wyatt Lopez
>show is called hunter hunter
>expect a monster hunter instead
should have been called Shonen Manhunter come to think of it
Luke Cox
I recently finished a read through of Erasmus's "In Praise of Folly", which was heavily recommended to me by my fellow Hunterchads. I especially enjoyed the satirical, but deliberate and intelligent critique on the mindless cycle of repeating traditions in 16th century Europe, and found it especially applicable for the modern era.
I remember the section of the work where Folly marches all about, praising herself over and over, declaring that life would simply be dull and empty without her, despite her honest pointlessness. This reminded me heavily of the wayward anti-HxH shitposters who continue to, day after day, endlessly spam their awful non-arguments, despite it being clear to the rest of us that these posts contain no substance or integrity, simply repeating themselves out of mindless asshurt.
Landon Perry
>you will live to see more copypasta spam than actual chapters of the series
Austin Butler
I started it as an adult so already past the optimal age. Still had good fun with it, but I guess not as much as I would have if I saw it as a kid. But then I wouldn't be able to read Chimera Ant in one go, on the other hand.
Aiden Phillips
Togashi is pretty weak novadays. His art took a nosedive in '11 I think when the Ant arc concluded and he stopped drawing with pens and went full digital. Or simply got a stroke and forgot how to draw. Everything started looking like shit drawn in Illustrator - crude choppy forms, same thickness lines. Paneling, balance of black white gray - everything is gone. He may have traced a lot twenty years ago during YorkShin, but the result was good. Also his designs are very subpar. And currently he also forgot the "show, don't tell" trick. The page presented could be easily condensed in text through the use of pictures to convey meaning, also giving food to discussion. But he chose to draw four crappy things and fill the rest with diluted obvious text.
Face it people - the Togashi is long dead.
Hunter Cooper
Believe it or not people who like anime/manga tend to search out new things. That being said, I saw HXH all the time on store shelves while buying other shit but didn't actually start reading it until 10-ish years ago.
Jaxson Baker
Reminder that "show don't tell" isn't about not using words.
Benjamin Price
>people who like anime/manga
>liking anime/manga
Yikes.
Hunter Gray
I read HunterxHunter in the german magazine Banzai!, which was a german monthly SJ magazine with Naruto, DNA², Sandland, Hikaru no Go and so on. It ran from November 2001 to December 2005.
Jose Roberts
Never got into it, not a gay shotacon
Dominic Rivera
HAHAHAHAHA IS THIS A FUCKING JOKE?
Brandon Roberts
Nope
100% serious page
Jacob King
Been reading HxH for over a decade following SJ's run of YYH over here in the states. Never looked back and never thought to drop it since it stays consistently engaging
>The page presented could be easily condensed in text through the use of pictures to convey meaning,
Most of what is presented on that page is speculation on abilities and conferring information the viewer didn't already have. Plus it's a mangastream translation and they are very bloated for their words, Viz gets a bad rap for being too condensed but overall still has accurate translations that aren't word salads even for the heftier pages in this arc.
"show, don't tell" also isn't some hard rule to writing, we're getting info both speculatory on Shikaku's part as well as some actual rules to understand how Halkenburg's creature interacts with others and the dangers it poses to someone who might attack him. We'd already seen what it's attacks look like from the outside and we'd also gotten some exposition and further speculation on it's functions earlier.
And all of this is in service of allowing the reader and the characters to engage in the information warfare that is a major component of this arc.
Jonathan Anderson
YYH was pretty big back then and it got a lot of people into HxH.
Jayden Stewart
Never saw it as a kid, ended up watching 2011 and it was absolute trash. Like I found soul eater and tokyo ghoul more enjoyable than this shit. It's just so fucking generic
Zachary White
never grew into it in the first place
Easton Torres
tournament x tournament didn't interest me enough to get invested in the first place
it's fanbase also seems to be the most autistic band of retards possible so not really willing to give it the benefit of the doubt either
Michael Nguyen
>no replies to actual point
Classic
Lincoln Green
Feels good to be Hunterchad
Dominic Flores
Maybe try reading the part responding to the point about show don't tell?
Austin Wood
bump
I still like HxH but not nearly as much as I did when I was 13.
Nathan Robinson
Imagine reading succession war when you were still a nerdy teenager, that'd be a fucking blast.
Connor Walker
Honestly I stopped around 2010-11 before the anime came out and before all those current retarded hunter "fans" appeared. I was 18 at the time, without patience for a story by a dude who is not willing to write it.
John Peterson
>Everyone knows Cereal with water is the way to go!!
Actually, factually subhuman
Jace Moore
>character uses his ability
>characters then inner monlogue to explain the ability that was just desplayed
>they then inner monologue about how this ability could be useful in combat and dire situations
>they then go on about its limitations and how they are planning to counter it
Togashi literally spoonfeeds the audience every little bit of information because he thinks they are retarded
Hudson Jackson
But they are retarded
Chase Clark
it's written for children so yes they are retarded to an extent
Leo Hernandez
Chrollo cheated
Liam Richardson
For me it's Dry Cereal, no milk
Benjamin Diaz
Do it.
Robert Perez
so who was it?
Isaac Hughes
Benjamin Sullivan
>Shitting on OPbros
You're not a real hunterchad! You're a fake!
Brayden Morgan
One manga. Two adaptations.
Three ways of experiencing Hunter X Hunter.
Alexander Martin
>hiatus x hiatus
>since fucking 1997
>390ch x 20pgs = 7800 pages
>chadgeki no kyojin
>since 2009
>a chapter every single month for 10 years
>121ch x 45pgs = 5445 pages
Jonathan Lopez
And none of them have an actual ending.
Wyatt Sanchez
At the end of the GI OVA you can pretend everything goes as the protagonists expected.
Hunter Martinez
99 is good but the ova is shit.
