Orient has nothing going for it in the chapters I've read barring the art. And even then the art sometimes borders on incomprehensible because of heavy stylization for the mass attacks that are semi-frequent. Plot wise it's the boring adventures of some characters who are opaquely recycled from Magi to some degree. I couldn't get past a couple dozen chapters, around when the female lead's village was getting attacked.

If Germany had done a few things better like annihilate the Allies at Dunkirk and hold off on their attack on the soviets until britain was done for they probably could have won decisively in the western front before the US joined and then slammed the soviets who were starving on their own as it was. The french folded like laundry and the soviets were borderline allies when they split up Poland and totally willing to honor the non-aggression pact, Germany had every handicap in the world and they fucked it up on relatively small decisions that had big commitments. I know the dunkirk rescue and soviet stand are painted as very heroic and noble, and they were don't get me wrong, but the nazis had them dead to rights. They shouldn't have stood a chance against a more competent Nazi germany, like the nazis could have genocided all of them given how much the allies rolled over for them.

Also, he is cooler than his prototype because "myths/historic accounts don't necessarily tell the whole/correct account".
