But there's plenty who just min/max and don't care for the Pokemon at all and use them to win.

Reality is like that even in 2019, so while many novels are not explicit it's supposed to be implied at this point. And that's usually if the rulers themselves are competent enough, usually the rulers are also incompetent and basically only managed because of the achievements of the ancestors.

In the case of WNs at least, editors really do help a lot. Sevens LN is a huge improvement to the WNs. I assume this will be the same and that the editors will reign in some of the author's dumber ideas or fetish insertions.

The extra epilogue is really good too. Glad to see at least Schere survive and her man survives, in a way. And that her enemies got fucked in the end.
