He didn't have much faith in science because, instead of having an easier world where the power of the machines would mean that everybody would have food and diseases would be defeated, a few reap most of the benefits, and hoard them, and if you have a sick imouto you better be a genius fighter because the adults will just leave her die if you can't pay the bills. So science, instead of being a source of benefit for humanity as Senku sees it, it's only something that also ends up subordinated to the rule of the adults, and makes them more efficient at ruining things for everybody, the greed of the adults has corrupted science, and science has in turn made their greed stronger.
And when Senkuu demonstrates that he is not the kind of person that would abuse science to gain power, he is at peace with it. Try to see the bigger picture. How to execute this is debatable, but he wasn't wrong in what he said.

The kill all adults notion is too vague to be treated seriously since he already revived a "legal" adult (Gen) right off the bat. His powerful status and charisma would help sway over people and the idea of the new world. The petrified people are "legally" dead anyway. There is no pain and smashing them made it easier for the young to accept him without the choice of having adults revived. It's another form of sleight of hand or a necessary evil. Might not be the best way to do it, however it would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for that meddling scientist.

Holy fucking shit, let me spell this out for you retards. This story is built with characters that represent something as their basis personality. Like, Senku represents science and scientific knowledge, you suspend your belief that someone owns the amount of knowledge a 16yo does in the show beacuse the character isn't about a 16yo, it's about what humanity knows know, and the spirit that led to that knowledge.
So when you see Senku and the Thot from the village in the story, you're not seeing a hormonal 16yo interacting with another hormonal 16yo from the jungle. You're seeing a totem for the rational thinking and knowledge from current days and the representation of a primal selective bias interacting, and if you see it this way, the interaction makes a lot more sense instead of just edge.
The really good thing this story does is making characters like this whitin a beliaveble framework. Senku is the most "Science" a person can be while having a relatable goal, somewhat of a personality and being capable of change.

To start with, the classic 3x3 alignment chart is simplistic and flawed in a lot of ways, and the problems with it (ie, trying to apply single labels to actors with multifaceted motivations and beliefs) aren't fixed by expanding the chart to 5x5 and adding stupid shit like 'social' or 'impure' to it. All that really does is exacerbate the issues of the alignment chart by making categories even narrower (thus making characters fit even less well into bins that they don't really fit into) while making it harder to use (how do you decide if somebody is 'rebel' or 'chaotic'?) If you're going to try to characterize characters in more depth than the 3x3 chart allows, don't do it on an alignment chart in the first place. Also the added labels in this 5x5 chart are stupid as fuck.

If I had to do a mass classification, I'd reduce it to 3x3 chart for the sake of expediency. As a general rule I evaluate lawful/chaotic on whether a character's actions are driven by adherence to an external (lawful) vs internal (chaotic) code. Good/evil is based on intent to help or harm. Most characters would probably fall into TN or NG with a few outliers (the main cast/antagonists really) falling to the L/C variants which is a pretty reasonable distribution of characters. I don't really feel like going through and arranging specific characters so that'll have to do.
