I’m genuinely heartbroken over this.
Yes, I know, it seems a bit off bemoaning the impending closure of what was essentially a huge pirating website for manga, but what can I say? This website and its app were pretty much the reason I got back into anime after nearly a decade after giving up on it.
I more or less saw this coming and at the very least, we can all be thankful that we were given prior warning to the site shutting down so we might have time to archive and record the contents of our libraries.
I’ll tell you who I feel really bad for right now; the manga artist who blew the whistle on MangaRock for posting their webcomic without permission. While she’s technically in the right, It won’t change the fact that there’s going to be a lot of angry MangaRock users who blame them for the site getting shut down.
Remember Metallica?

Why people keep reading manga on that shitty site?

bump.
I would have never got into manga and read masterpieces like 20th century boys, a drifting life, kaiji etc without this app. Instead I would have only watched shitty seasonal anime. I'm very sorry too see manga rock go . We've had a wonderful four years. Thank you for your services.

I caren't really about the "piracy"; these are scanlations with no official English release.
Maybe the scanlators could work out a deal with the original publication and actually publish them cheaply or something which would probably benefit all parties involved but ere that time come I have no moral qualms with pirating something that has no official commercial release.

This one had one of the nicest interfaces for me on mobile, on a tablet with its perpetual scroll interface automatically adjusting the size of the image to fill the tablet width.
