yeah but in Isekai, it s a major flaw. The hero meets a bunch of girls who wants to suck his cock. I can accept that the author wants to have a hero that roks hard. But the harem thing is always pathetic.

I stopped watching halfway through. I stopped before even Fitoria showed up. I'm keeping up with the LN, and read all of the WN. The LN dropped significantly in quality after beating the high priest or whatever, and it just keeps going down in quality too. I could see reason to expand a little more while doing the LN vs the WN, but the changes they put in are honestly just so fucking dumb. There's zero build up to most of the new stuff, Naofumi or his party just randomly power up most of the time instead of having to do any kind of training, or anything else for it. It's disappointing that the LN version is likely to be adapted instead of the WN. I imagine it would've gotten a better reception that way.

Mostly because Shield Hero is a bad show, for reasons unrelated to the false rape accusations. The first few episodes were actually the best, and then it turned trite and boring.
For example, the IQ of everyone not in Naofumi's party dropped by 50 points whenever Myne and Spearfag were around (and Spearfag's IQ is in the negatives). It got to the point where I sympathized with the evil Pope dude because his motive was that the four Heroes were fucking shitters and other than Naofumi he was absolutely right.

We are mostly manga readers & watch the anime if we like the manga & wan to see what the anime adaptation is like. And then there are the few people who don’t read the manga & casually watch the anime.

When I first watched it, I thought it was slowly going downhill after episode 5 (I think that's the first Naofumi vs. Spearguy fight). But in retrospect it drops down in quality immediately after that episode and stays that way throughout.

I really enjoyed the first 5 episodes because it was a story of two characters who have been unfairly shat on by the world coming together and trying to make the best of a bad situation. But after the first duel between the heroes the show became what an AI would write if it were to center a story around bad Isekai tropes.

Motoyasu and Cunt Princess at the beginning felt like a legitimate threat. Motoyasu is storng but easy to manipulate, the Princess easily rallies the whole goddamn kingdom against Naofumi. After the duel, those two straight u become Team Rocket. The gap in powerlevel between Naofumi and his rivals is so strong that Motoyasu becomes a comic relief villain who gets kicked in the nuts by loli chocobo.
The heroes (as far as the anime is concerned), exist just to make the MC look stronger and more mature by comparison. In fact, the whole narrative bends itself so that everyone who are dicks/disagree with the MC are ridiculed. Halfway through the anime, I was seriously wondering if this was a show intended for wish fulfillment; for low-status to insert themselves in the MC who gets to lecture every male who more popular than him.

It was also kinda telling that ALL of the MC's friends are underage girls and the guy is over 20 (again, anime only). Male camaraderie or a rivalry where two characters respect eachother is not a thing which exists in this show.

And I wouldn't bother writing so much about any other wish-fulfillment fantasy if it weren't for the first arc being SO GOOD at hooking me in.
