Shield hero seasons 2 and 3

I have an Overlord S2/3 flashbacks.

That's false, I read the KDKW financial reports for /biz/ reasons. There was no mention of Shield Hero at all. There was talk about increasing revenue from overseas royalties. And increased overseas revenue from anime licences, but nothing about streaming or Shield Hero. The only IP they highlighted for their video and game section is Sekiro which did have significant overseas contributions.

I know it is hard for Muricans, but they aren't that relevant when it comes to anime. CRs yearly subscription revenue is only around 2% of the foreign anime market revenue. At best half of that ends up in Japan. That's 1% of the overseas revenue, less than 0.5% of the total anime revenue.

Shield Hero profits more heavily from its Western popularity than other anime because it is funded to a significant part by CR. But the real reason for S2 and S3 is probably China.

Pretty disappointed I'm going to have to put up with this shit anime and equally shit fan base for years to come.

Second half of the 2nd season probably will be about "fisherman girl territory", and disappointment of a viewers about those "totally relevant and interesting" places already expected. So to not let interest die out in between seasons they're announced 3rd season now.

I can't believe I am saying this, but yes. That's also JewPress' choice for that honorific. Shieldhero's (early) localisation choices are so bad that they make JewPress look good.

Why is it that OPB got the license for the shield hero novels yet they're not doing shit with it? With the anime's popularity it sure would be a good time to kick the translation speed into gear, more so that there's seasons 2 & 3 to be aired in the future.

It doesn't help that they scheduled the story to be stuck half-way into an arc for 10 months.
Of all the English LN licensors, Seven Seas seems to be the best overall, though if it's about speed the J-novels club is still faster, but Seven Seas still got better TL-quality compared to J-novels club imo.

I'm more of a manga/LN/VN over anime, but Go Toubun is getting a second season.
Also I think SH isn't horrible and deserves a 2nd season (I've seen worse adaptations)

Indeed get into Isekai quartet, or however it's going to be called with more series added into the mix, what kind of shields will he be able to unlock considering there's new "materials" that can be absorbed? I think they are saving it for S3 ch90. It fits the feel of that chapter perfectly.

No adaptation is perfect, but it's about also getting the anime too. Ufo's FZ & UBW for example both had issues and changes, but offered some things the VN didn't.

The way I understand it, Naofumi can't take the shield off even for a second, so it would teleport back right after being stolen.

It can be stolen(the physical part of the weapon in the case i'm describing) but that was due to an enemy having some sort of ability/cheat granted by the mastermind(s) behind the waves in-universe. Im just wondering if kazuma's steal can do the same.

Yeah, conveniently with allies that could immediately help them, along with items present or thrown at them, because plot, to escape their "harrow" circumstances. There was literally zero pressure the entire time in the other world. It was just Naofumi and Raphtalia steamrolling everything until whiny retard chick went full autism mode to save the day, again. The entire thing just smelled of an author struggling to tack on shit to a story to appease fans clamoring for more. Rather than make little additions, or side stories, it's just full out garbage that ruins the flow of the story overall.

They should retcon more things, the pope fight had abysmally bad pacing which took a toll on Cal Mira and Rishia. But at the same time, I don't want them to use more time and resources than it is necessary so the second half of the last episode is probably more reasonable.

ShieldHero could have been so much better if only Raphtalia didn't completely fade into the background in only a few episodes and if everyone aside from Naofumi weren't so incompetent. Even Filo became much more helpful for Naofumi than Raphtalia. It could've been Naofumi with his 2 trusty companions but it ended up devolving into a generic harem.
I'll probably watch the next seasons but I hope Raphtalia gets more screentime since she's depicted as the heroine of the series.
