I recently bingewatched AiFure S2. My favorite newly-introduced idle is Hibiki. Despite being high-class, she is still friendly and good-natured. Unlike a certain Elza . I dig the fire-ice and prince-princess thing going on with I Believe, though Hibiki looks more like a queen. Also her hair looking like a phoenix is a nice touch. Wakaba is cute and innocent. She is literally ainon. Some of the memorable highlights were the Karen being cute pushing buttons during the Kart race, that time with the shuffle units, the recent Reflect Moon episode ;_; and Mio totally exposing her Penne-crush to the entire world on TV. That idle sure does love Penne and penguins. If I have to choose a fave Friends idle it's probably Maika because I like the sexy vibes she's giving (sexy adult, not sexy lewd), she gets cute when scared, has long gloves, is pretty, also I'm biased over her VA being a Precure VA. But there's also Mirai who's a fun but reliable senpai with cute coord aesthetics.

Overall it was comfy and watching their friendships warms my heart. I guess I'm kinda bummed it's about to end soon, but I'm glad I get to see these idles learn and grow. Who's the best AiFure idle and what do you ainons want to see in AiPare?

My favorite is Mio, I love her design, personality and outfits. My main hope with Aipare is that Lucky doesn't feel just like a tacked-on audience surrogate. Since the OP is a Mio/Aine/Lucky song, it means they'll likely perform as a trio at some point and there's potential for their relationship to be fleshed out nicely there.

Maybe it's a little bit of bias since she just had a really good episode, but I think Kaguya might be my favourite. I've loved seeing her bloom from her initial nervous self to sharing the spotlight with her sister, and finally to where she is now. She's got that kind of straightforward blunt manner about her too, which I always like.
Also she looks excellent in glasses, what more could you ask for?

I rate Maika very highly too, for all the shit Honey Cat episodes catch, she's been heavily involved in two of my favourite episodes (Reflect Moon/Honey Cat shuffle, and the episode in which she couldn't quite break the news to her family that they didn't qualify for the cup). She's the sexiest by a long margin too, so I can't complain there.

Aine was my long time favorite, but more recently it feels more like a 4 way tie between Aine, Mio, Wakaba, and Kaguya. Aine and Wakaba are the sweetest cinnamon rolls, Kaguya being more of a senpai and always looking out for others is really cute, and I love Mio being partly the level headed one and partly obsessive personality, and I love how much she cares for Aine. But I really love all the aifures honestly.

Kinda sad its ending soon too, especially since S2 has been so good, but I can't be too upset when the trade off is getting to see all my girls from the last 7 years together.

There's so much potential for Aipare I don't even know what I want. The DCD has been heavily advertising all the goth girls together, I would love it so much is they all got a performance together.

Is Aikatsu Stars unironically one of the best looking /ai/ shows, visually?

Ignore the shitty writing and look at the soft cuddly art style and great faces and colours. The animation seems fluid and there’s no QUALITY that I notice. I think it’s more bouncy and fluid animation than OGkatsu and Friends. The girls look cute 100% of the time.

Short hair Akari is the cutest, but braid felt the most "mature" and to me was a good final progression in styles with the growth of her ability as an idol.

I can remember some choppy shots during the first season but I agree, it had something going on visually, even the colors of the character designs are very distinct.

Stars has some of my favorite Aikatsu designs. I wish it got handled better than it did but I still enjoyed what we got quite a bit.

I agree, but it's still the weakest Aikatsu series. Despite all there is to like with it they had way to large of a cast that wasn't able to be utilized well. Why they decided to make most of the main girls in the vocal class instead of having one of each I'll never know, but then adding the admins on top of that created a very bloated cast. That aspect got even worse in S2 when Venus Ark was introduced.
Let's also not forget about plot points being dropped all the time and Yume's development stopping the second she got into S4.

OG Aikatsu: 10/10, an all time favorite of mine.
Stars: Low 7/10, S1 was a lot of fun, S2 dragged on but still had plenty of enjoyable moments.
Friends: Solid 8, has been very consistent and these latest episodes have been fantastic.
Parade: Hype/10, exactly what I want out of another season.

OG S1: Flawed kino, 7/10
S2: colossal waste of time with bad characters and some good moments, 4/10
S3: better than S2 but Akari's arc went downhill quickly, 5/10
S4: largely pointless until a solid finale, 6/10
Stars S1: mishandled garbage plot and bad characters, 4/10
Stars S2: hit rock bottom and kept digging, even worse characters and a mess of a plot with no reason to care about anything that happened and the only good bits were about characters that didn't matter like that one Yuzu/Lily episode at the end, 2/10
Friends S1: boring but largely competent, 6/10
Friends S2: some very good bits but a bit all over the place, 5/10 at the moment but could scrape out another 6/10 with a good enough ending

OG dropped irrelevant plot points, Stars dropped important ones.

Pretty much my exact opinion. Maybe 8.5 or 9 for Friends.

Those are some harsh scores but I agree with the general description aside from Friends S2 which I find to be better than you give it credit for, in fact it's laser-focused on its plot and themes rather than being all over the place.

OGAikatsu has flaws, but those flaws are completely overshadowed with all of the good it does, compared to Stars the flaws don't stand out are are much more easily ignored. I think that's the main issue a lot of people have.

Kirara was a cunt until Elza started abusing her. She was just getting a taste of her own medicine.

Also the payoff was Rola getting an early start to her career while Elza lost her chance to retire and has to babysit literally who idols from now on, plus she never recruited Hime after trying so hard when they first met. As a bonus, Hime got her own super special dress off screen and showed it off like it was nothing to her because she didn't have to manipulate people.

Mizuki brought her in because she was the only one she considered good enough to be her partner in Tristar without having to do an audition for it (which she did for the third member).

I've really enjoyed it. I've loved the dynmics between characters, especially within the Friends units. There's definitely something to the complain that the individual characters have suffered a little as a result, and there's definitely potential missed to show off interactions of individuals in different units, but overall I'm satisfied.

I think one of the best things to come out of the Friends gimmick was the performances though. I've really loved watching them, they feel so much more interesting than previous unit performances, really felt like two people performing a song together, rather than 2 people performing the same song next to eachother.

I'm disappointed it's ending now, even if they aren't going away entirely yet, I'll still miss them.

Really hated that everyone is just half a character and how wasn't aikatsu at all, also very forgettable music.

I loved it. I think Aikatsu has always excelled at great character relationships, and I think it showed because I love every Friends unit even HoneyCat. PP is also my 2nd favorite unit behind Soleil, they're amazing.

I can agree with the criticism about characters being too stuck in their unit and not getting enough solo development though. Definitely would have been nice to see them more individually, as well as more inter-unit interactions (although I think S2 was doing better in both of these aspects).

I know a lot of people complain about the music but I honestly loved a lot of the music. Aikatsu Friends, Pride, and Believe It are some of my favorite Aikatsu songs, and there's a good amount of other songs I like to listen to regularly. I can't say it was the best season for music, but it had a lot I liked.

Overall was a joy to watch, and watching them all grow and achieve their dreams while being great friends was really heartwarming. This show always put a smile on my face.

I don't really get the music complaints, Friends has some of my favourite songs from Aikatsu overall.

Love it. Aside from what has already been said, I really appreciated how heavily it stuck to its core theme. The concept of friendship and the relationships between friends were explored in many different ways and everyone put their own spin on it. It would be really interesting to see characters from OG and Stars exploring their relationships in the same way Friends did during the crossover. Some of them like Yuzu and Lily or Ako and Kirara already feel like they're one step away from making their own Friends unit, so it would be pretty natural.

It's just not on the same level as OG and Stars, nowhere near.

Every character is much more interesting when they aren't Friends with anybody as they seemed to throw away most of individual development and individual character quirks in favor of unit development.

Also I really don't like how they made the argument that Pure Palette are now true rivals of Love Me Tear when they won Diamond Friends Cup but they didn't try at all to show that they are at the same level, in fact it's more of the opposite as they seem to show Pure Palette as a weaker team that can make some miracles happen with their frienergy and I Believe are more of the true rivals of Love Me Tear.

The music was boring, only a few songs really stood out for me. Felt like most of the good songs were at the start of S1 which is fitting since I pretty much started to dislike AiFure when Sakuya first showed up. I ended up wondering if I had lost my love for Aikatsu, but my reaction to AiPare and the little trailers they have for each character paints a different picture.

I can't agree with that. Both Karen's songs, Be Star, As It Is, Identity, all the EDs (though I already listed Be Star), they're all really up there in my opinion.

Is it because of the art style? They seem older / mature. They have thin eyelashes, thin eye iris outlines, thin cheeks. OG and Stars have thicker outline eyes, especially Stars
