It's a 9/10 anime that people either doggedly believe is a 15/10 or claim is a 0/10 out of spite. There is no middle ground because it aired almost a full decade ago and every rational non-newfag has long watched it and moved on. There is no new ground to cover with it, the movie will probably never get a proper sequel, and the future is nothing but gachashit.

Because a lot of people legitimately couldn’t understand the series. I know that sounds like a meme but it’s one of the very few “deep” anime in existence. I’d bet less than 2% of the entirety of Yea Forums is able to appreciate this show for what it actually offers.
