FLCL. I'd say Cowboy Bebop, but everyone says that, and I really appreciate the extra mile the localization went to as well as the quality of the actual voice actors.
There are two examples I always bring up to people. The first is in the second episode where Kamon is going on about the implications of living with a robot. Haruko asks Naota what his dad's going on about, and in the sub, Naota responds, "He wrote an Eva book a long time ago." Yet in the dub, he says, "He wrote a whole book on the deep mysteries of Eva." Together with the delivery of the line (and Naota's tired expression), it gives the line so much more punch.
>whole book
>deep mysteries
Those words come off as sarcastic and probably capture the FEEL of the original Japanese far better than the subs. Naota is obviously tired of his dad's otaku personality, and the inclusion of "deep mysteries" in Naota's deadpan tone furthermore takes a jab at the people who and still do over-analyze NGE. It all gives this impression of Tsurumaki telling the audience, "Please don't analyze FLCL like NGE." I wish I could be more succinct with how much I love this scene and why, but I'm far too autistic to get my thoughts across.
The second scene that jumps out to me is a small one. It's in episode 5 when Naota is shot by Canti through the MM gunslinger, eventually hitting a movie poster. As Naota-as-a-bullet hits the poster in the original, there's no dialogue, but in the dub, Naota's friend Masashi says, "Blockbusters," in this withdrawn kind of voice. Again, it's hard for me to explain why I like this scene so much. There's just something funny about someone making such a bored remark while so much crazy shit is going on, this scene just being one of many similar ones. It adds to the surreal nature of the show.
I like Asuka's voice in the evangelion ADV dub
