Yes, that's one of the best scenes in this manga, this is what making it interesting to read, it has some heights and the plot / characters are actually moving somewhere (even if it's their end).
I like actually good stories and I read them to be entertained. This manga was definitely entertaining to read.

too bad his other manga was kinda okay. kamisami no iutoori ended on such a cocktease it sucked. I liked it though. However, at least JAAAAAAAGAN gets some threads here. haven't heard anything of it recently. kinda wish he would go back to down to earth drama stuff.
Fuck man, what type of genre of mangas should I sift through to find more stuff like this, I've read most of the popular ones but most of the ones I'm finding aren't "real" (sorry for the buzzwords) enough. they just feel exactly like anime/manga tropes. maybe i'm just shallow and it's the art style why i'm feeling like that

I thought the ending was okay. The mystery over the game wasn't really a major plot point for me and they managed to handwave it enough where I didn't think it was a total asspull.
The OVAs were nice but of course netflix gotta flex on live action adaptations and total MISS THE FUCKING POINT. THANKS NETFLIX FOR 7 SEEDS, NOW NOBODY IS GOING TO READ THAT MANGA DESPITE IT BEING REALLY FUCKING GOOD.

Poor bastard had all three of his series axed even though in the short runs they had they were far more entertaining than majority of the high school SoL shit that gets 100+ chapters. They all shared a universe and could have had crossovers, which they had in one extra chapter of Futari no Jikan.

I'd go for Kuroi Fukubi ("Black Blizzard"), the very first gekiga manga.

Not any darker than the rest of his work. This one has more aviation otaku themes in it too. You'd think fighter jet foamers and le edgelords would be eating it up. If you dug Bokurano you'd dig Naru Taru, same themes of accepting your death and it's inevitability. Accepting you're being robbed of your precious time on Earth and making the most of what you have left, etc.
Speaking of aviation, anyone read pic related? It's about a delivery service in a world like YKK's, but even more dreamy and surreal.
