Fate Sakura's Feel

>Hyper long unnecessary prologue to the first movie.
>Cuts out all the important parts of the intro to the route and just assumes you're already very familiar with F/SN.
>Stretches the fight scenes on forever, when they were just a few short screens in the VN.
>Cuts or shortens important character interaction unless it's Sakura-related.
>Every other sentence out of everyone's mouth is Sakura-focused.
>Fanboys defend these as good changes.
The movies were good but they have some very serious missteps.
It's clearly not about time constraints because they have a fuckload of opportunities to shorten unnecessary scenes like the long ass Saber alter vs Berserker fight but instead opted to drag it on.

Shirou and Sakura's history needed to be addressed at some point. Might as well do it in chronological order.

>Cuts out all the important parts of the intro to the route and just assumes you're already very familiar with F/SN.
They're treating HF as a sequel to UBW, which they treated as a sequel to Zero. Of course they'll skip that shit.

>Stretches the fight scenes on forever, when they were just a few short screens in the VN.
Okay. Fair.

The routes are not supposed to be treated as sequels to each other. How can they be? You're meant to treat the routes as a standalone story.

They're most certainly not. None of them is a complete story. They leave mysteries open to the other routes.

But even then, you're talking about the VN. You can do a lot when you're adapting something to a different medium, and ufotable has clearly made their Fate stuff to be watched in release order.

When I'm recommending Fate to people I tell them to start with Fate/Zero, then watch F/SN: UBW. I have no faith anyone I meet will be assed to read the visual novel to completion and anime is much easier to digest, so they're doing a good thing.

>Hyper long unnecessary prologue to the first movie.
It was a great addition, if the movie was ~20-30 minutes longer there would be nothing wrong with it. Just like Sakura in wonderland was a nice, creative way to show her struggles
>Cuts out all the important parts of the intro to the route and just assumes you're already very familiar with F/SN.
Familiar with UBW or Fate*. Sooo, just like VN, nothing wrong with it.
>Stretches the fight scenes on forever, when they were just a few short screens in the VN.
>shorten unnecessary scenes like the long ass Saber alter vs Berserker fight but instead opted to drag it on
But that's one of benefits that anime addaptation by competent studio has, it can elevate fights to new exciting levels. And it wasn't even long fight, I do have problems with the scale and useless explosions though, just like with UBW.
>The movies were good but they have some very serious misstep
Yeah I agree, rushing is the most obvious con of the films and paradoxically the only new scene I hated was hamfisted Taiga explanation that was there theoretically to help both Sakura and Illya grow as characters and encourage them, but was simply bad and pointless, longer scenes of Shirou and Illya interacting would do much better job.

Lancer vs Assassin and Salter vs Berserker were way cooler and more memorable in the anime than in the VN. This is straight-up a good thing.

There's been exactly one worthwhile scene cut (the last big Shirou-Illya scene) and that'll probably be in the third movie.

>not forcing them to watch the DEEN adaption first

>Salter

I dont mind this that much but they at least could've included Saber's first line during the intro credits in her summoning, it's a pretty major scene for Shirou

The director doesn't give two shits about Shirou. Everything is Sakura-centric.

Berkserker's whole fight was definitely not short in the VN.

This.

Fate is soulless.

My main complaint is that for a movie, part 2 looked like ass and well below Ufotable's usual level.

>Fate is soulless.
Fate/Stay Night has Soul
Specifically because you can tell it was written by a chuuni trash who had a passion for writing

>Hyper long unnecessary prologue to the first movie
Bullshit I remember the pre-movie HF talks, one of the things people bitched about was how Shirou and Sakura's relationship was all tell and no show.

Even then the only reason that's a remotely ok complaint is because of the other routes where Shirou ignores her because of the war. Otherwise you really get a good understanding of how close they are.

I didn't like the UBW adaptation.
The first movie dissapointed me, and during the first 20 minutes of the second one I wasn't sold on it.

But overall, I feel like they fucking nailed the second movie.
Hope they go the extra mile with the last one, because I have very high hopes for it

Because I swear, if they get right those scenes:
>Emiya vs Berserker
>Emiya vs Kotomine

I'll fucking suck their dick

It was painful, but that's how I got started all those years ago.

I found the Berserker fight to be georgeous, even if it has a lot of CGI
As well as Sakura

Good. Fuck secondaries.
