Honestly good comparison for Pedro/Carrot would be Zeff/Sanji. For the latter, from the very beginning you know there's a lot of tension there, hinting something happened between them which then leads to a two chapter flashback showcasing how he saved him and changed his life and makes Sanji's early character arc to be about letting go of his obligations (and guilt) to Zeff, manning up, taking a risk and pursuing his own dreams. With Carrot and Pedro, they barely interact before the chapter Pedro blows himself up, then she gets few pages about him training her and she doesn't have any personal issues related to him in any way, aside of being sad when he dies. There's really no deeper connection here. If that's supposed to be your token main mentor relationship for SH then Oda definitely did a lousy job.

Not really sure what you're saying but if I'm interpreting it correctly, then Oda answers these stupid "When will One Piece end?" questions because people keep asking him every time he's interviewed. Obviously as a creator he would like to be able to finish his work at some point but there's no way he can know for sure when he can because things can always change. Oda saying he wants to end the story in 5 years is just something he wants to strive for rather than something that we should expect to happen. We even had editors saying stuff like thinking about One Piece's 30th anniversary a while back.

Grossly incorrect and it depends on the strength of the said army. Fishman fodder were weak but Marines as a whole were stronger.

It's why it was meant to be impressive when Roger defeated entire militaries by himself. Why Big Mom wanted the cloning of the Germa. Why Sanji and the Strawhats got repeatedly cornered and almost killed in WCI.

It was usually because some of the top dogs were actually actually there, mostly Big Mom herself. The one time low level guys cornered them was when Sanji had to look after unconscious Luffy. Big Mom and Kaido literally can't be hurt by fodders or even people from top ~50 of the world. WB was fighting an army himself too and his worst injuries came from actually strong people. The center of every big fight is always the few strongest guys, you won't conquer Tottland or Wano or Mariejois with an army of mooks, you need to have at least one person in league with the likes of Yonko and admirals.

Neither would you conquer it with an elite team like the Supernovas. Even Mihawk had to abandon his home to flee from the incoming marine invasion.

The only other character with any emotional attachment is Wanda, and Carrot didn't get to have her emotional catharsis that was clearly being built to after Pedro died. I don't think she'll join the crew, but that's an obvious setup.

But these exceptions are what matters in the battle for the world domination.

Because admirals or Yonkos and commanders would stop them. Current SHP would easily take over Dressrosa, Fishman Island or Alabasta. Heck, Zoro took over Neptune's palace pretty much by himself. Luffy defeated most of Arlong's and Kuro's crews by himself, it's only the elites that were the problem. Mihawk destoryed 50 ship strong fleet, Fujitora defeated the Doffy partners revenge alliance by himself too. Army is important in actual management after the battle not in fights themselves. Mooks are of little concern consistently throughout the manga.

Because naruto and bleach doesn't have seasonal. One piece shouldn't receive special treatment.
