Low quality post. Everyone knows School Rumble is better.

School Rumble is the best romcom ever so I pick it over Kaguya.

Boomer vs Zoomer
in fact i made a meme for this before

Based on what?

Based on that poster School Rumble looks like a haremshit

>ITT: rose-tinted nostalgia goggles combined with faggots who compares a done series over an ongoing one
You are cancer and you should get a level 5 one for being such a massive idiot.

its not, although the main male protagonist has 2 girls who have crushes on him

3 if you include the nurse but we know already go won the Harimabowl at the end

How did Kaguya trigger you so much that you needed to create a webm about it? I never even saw School Rumble and Kaguya in the same conversation until now.

I say Kaguya better. Cause it has much more refined plot/character development.

From what i remember, school rumble story has barely any continuity between episodes/chapters and characters dynamics was very basic. Which is for comedy genre in all media a usual thing.

But not for Kaguya. While still being romcom, story consistently keep developing further.

Nobody.

Non-canon fantasy sequences need not apply. Same goes for that nothing one-shot, that didn't actually prove anything.

>I never even saw School Rumble and Kaguya in the same conversation until now.
I have, which is why I made this thread. The author of Kaguya cites School Rumble as an inspiration.

The Kaguya-sama author says that school rumble is his favourite manga

Will we ever get another MC this based?

Kaguya still ongoing so if it delivers a satisfying and complete conclusion, I'd rate it above SR. Harima's probably my fave character between both series though.

>non canon
keep seething

It depends on how Kaguya ends. School Rumble went to shit with the pie ending, completely throwing years of trust to the garbage can.
I really want to ignore it but I can't. I don't understand how people can pretend it doesn't exist.

Kaguya is better but School Rumble was funnier.

Kaguya is like a cross between Eri and Yakumo (with a little bit of Tenma), isn’t she?

You made a webm, you didn't make a meme. The shared and propagated cultural idea of boomers on imageboards is a meme.

I only see mostly Eri traits on Kaguya than Yakumo, also the fact that both are rich Ojou-sama

Dunno, Yakumo had the aura of a real princess that Kaguya never managed to get. She was dignified even when angry. She never loses her shit unlike Kaguya, who does on a daily basis.
Having said that, that also made her kinda boring. Lots of waifu potential, but she clashed with the rest of the cast.

>We were a sentimental generation

school rumble is a classic, there's no beating it
also despite having a larger cast it was way more varied and quality stories

Who can forget the NTR slut and the poor cuck who kept trying to convince himself his girlfriend wasn't the town bicycle?

Based

In retrospective Kaguya>School Rumble by far

SR was a poor show, The main conflict in SR was a guy falling in love with a girl that falls in love with an autistic stone, the MC can't make a single advance with the main girl relationship over the entire series, and the reason is a comic relief consisting that the no personality main girl loves a unidimensional stone literally by no reason, is a shitty """not corresponded love""" melodrama/comedy meanwhile the rest of the girls loves the MC in a shitty harem, when i watched that thought that was a good series, but nowadays its a very BASIC comedy romance with a bad character development and bad ending.

>t. nostalfags

>read "Kaguya-sama: Geniuses' War of Love and Brains"
>both main characters are complete idiots

Don't bully Aka.

Attached: 1561593392384.png (244x353, 10K)

Harima while an idiot at least was athletic and fit and at least both characters do love each other instead of being 1 sided

Kaguya was inspired by School Rumble, right? The bike scene in Kaguya particular is very similar to the one in School Rumble.

Kaguya is generic trash while School Rumble is the epitome of romcom. Not even close desu.

School rumble has better comedy. And has progress. It handled its large cast to the point you can remember each character and what they did.

How can you compare these two?

School rumble is comedy anime with romantic elements. If you were expecting a good romance you're a fool.

The main MC never once formed a harem. The only girl that liked him was the blonde. The entire thing was a love line because it never looped back around.

>And has progress
I don't get what you're even implying here. Sounds to me like you haven't actually read Kaguya.

many are doing so just because Kaguya author said He is a fan of School Rumble and took inspiration from it

Considering the recent Kaguya arcs, School Rumble by far.

I'd rather read Midori Days 100 times btw

Aka himself said School Rumble is one of his favorite manga of all time and he doesn't think his work could ever compare to it.

Not even close dumbshit

The conv is about the anime dumbshit

No one ever said that, quit trying to move goalposts. SR also had twice as many episodes per season, and two season in total, so how is that a fair comparison? If Kaguya had half as many episodes, the main couple would be together already.

>>both main characters are crippled by whole portfolios of mental issues

>Kaguya
>generic trash
the fact that the main pair is actually together now means it literally can't be generic trash

I mean yeah, they had their character arcs, but don't act like Kaguya is some kind of deep analysis with three dimensional characters because that's bullshit and you know it.

>implying the manga is over and that their issues are completely fixed

I'm pretty sure the purpose of the manga is not of them solving their personal issues, but more like learning to deal with their issues and the ones of their partner.

I see Kaguya's family being a potential source for conflict. But between characters? I thought getting past that was the point of the Ice arc.

This is a better comparison than it looks. Started off pretty fresh in terms of humor and gags, became even more fun as it fleshed out its main cast, top-tier waifu and cool MC, but suffered from hamfisted drama their authors had to include for some inane reason

The conv is about anime dumbshit read the op

I did read it. It uses images from the anime, but more than half the posts itt make references to source material, so the conversation is about both. Stop trying to win this pointless debate man. Just admit that SR is not going to win against Kaguya in regards to "progress" of any kind.

>Better comedy
School Rumble

>Better romance
Kaguya

kaguya is a shit

why they fall in love?
because people say to them that they will be a good couple
nomie tier
this isnt love
school rumble is 2 million time better

If you go to a anime convention but some people are talking about manga does that mean the convention is no longer about anime?
The conversation is about anime poopdumb

You literally only watched the first 30 seconds of the anime, you retard. What the hell makes you think you're even allowed to have an opinion of it at all?

I watched a couple of episodes of school rumble and it was shit like 99% of comedy stuff of that era.
Comedy is one of those areas the nips have made huge progress in the last decade.

Said that the Kaguya anime is also shit, but the manga is excellent.

School Rumble was a great comedy but it was absolutely terrible on the romance department. It used every cliche in the book regardless of whether it worked or not. Misunderstandings, love triangles, pretend dating, fiance out of nowhere, unexplained magical powers, interrupted weddings.
In retrospect, I don't even remember why the fuck I considered the Harimabowl interesting to begin with. Eri falling for him was due to a lot of retarded coincidences piling on top of each other, while Yakumo fell because of the "nice guy" excuse amped up to eleven due to her magical mind reading powers. As entertaining as Harima was, it was more because of the zany situations around him and less about him. He was just a chuuni jackass with an insufferable case of oneitis.

>Started off pretty fresh in terms of humor and gags, became even more fun as it fleshed out its main cast, top-tier waifu and cool MC, but suffered from hamfisted drama their authors had to include for some inane reason
That's just SR. In fact, Kaguya is quite the opposite. Started quite shit in humor, shit MC then starts to get good after a while. MC became cool because of drama and having a good story despite being depicted as a comedy manga makes it so good.

Why this comparison? What do these two have even remotely in common other than being romantic comedies?

The literal only similarity I can see is both manga becoming considerably shittier when attempting a more serious tone in their later stages

>kaguya anime is shit

You really cannot ask for more on Aniplex

disguting

best love triangle ever
no cliche just true love
yakumo vs eri for fight for the hearth of a man who love the first girl who smile at him

>conflict
She gets thrown out of the house one way or another, cries into the arms of her boyfriend and ends up living with the Shiroganes after college.

Cmon i called u reddit gay because u are only show that reddit like such as this shit

based mentally retarded raper

It's not. It's more like a love hexagon with several couples that never moves forward. It's a gag anime that relies on misunderstandings to ridiculous levels. I enjoyed it as a light hearted comedy, but don't go in expecting anything to progress or a satisfying ending.

>Love hexagon

Is there any heterosocial friendship in School Rumble like kaguya x ishigami?

Tenma is an annoying fuck and I hated her too much, so I'm biased to say that Kaguya is overall better, since both Kaguya and Shirogane are likeable or at least tolerable. Also the first 70 or something Kaguya manga chapters are great, before Aka sold out and started pushing teenage drama shit.

Also, just to be clear
Eri>Yakumo

Attached: 1473669442941.png (188x378, 50K)

Thanks

Tenma disappier
In second season is a seconda character

Kaguya-sama edges out School Rumble because it doesn't pretend to have some overarching plot only to go literally fucking nowhere over the course of two 26 episode seasons. Both series are complete wastes of time but at least with KS you know the endgame and can just enjoy the ride.

Nope. Everyone was in love with someone. Except Akira. But Akira was weird.

First time seeing such a thread but I feel like vomiting. Kaguya-sama gave me some nice laughs but how is it even comparable to School Rumble?

I thought the same until I rewatched School Rumble. Turns out many of my memories of the anime were way more embellished than I thought.

????
School rumble, this isn't even a debate the fuck lol

>How are these plebs allowed to have different opinions
I watched SR just recently expecting the one of the best comedies anime had to offer and it was "okay". Also the ending was a trainwreck and the asspain can still be felt until today

Kaguya has an unfair advantage though when comparing both, since it hasn't had to deal with closing it's character arcs and delivering a satisfying ending yet. Once it does, then both series can be judged and compared fairly.

Attached: 1507307405166.gif (264x264, 1.37M)

Kaguya does go somewhere
The anime just hasn't gotten that far yet
Read the manga

Fucking bullshit Ayase 1000 times better
I'd go SR>MD>KS, at least in terms of the anime

Attached: IMG_18495.jpg (225x350, 38K)

School rumble obviously

but why would you even compare them in the first place, there are barely any similarities in the story, episode/chapter structure and characters, and they greatly differ in that Kaguya always focuses on the main couple while SR is closer to the old school harem series + a lot of focus on side characters. Sure both are romance comedies but there are hundreds of those out there, this just smells like a forced fanbase/generational war.
