Realtalk though I tried to catch up on One Piece recently after dropping it around the time they got the chef and what the FUCK is going on with that series? Everything I've seen of recent stuff looks like if Barney was written by the guys who did Dragon Ball Super.

You know why Hunterfags don’t laugh about asspulls in others shonen? Because HxH also have a shiton of asspull
Zachary Perez
I've never seen a single hunterchad make any kind of believable justification for Alluka's existence. S/he single-handedly destroyed and shit on what would otherwise have been the perfect combat/power system in manga. Togashi literally just wanted to write about Gon fucking himself up but not actually commit to the consequences even though he was basically written out of the story anyways. It's a problem with the story that hunterchadss never talk about because deep down they know it's hit and instead defend against 'oh my' because it's low hanging fruit.
>make any kind of believable justification for Alluka's existence Setup for some of the things to be expected in the dark continent and to contrast the chimera ants who were a much weaker threat compared to a creature that can kill thousands instantly because of a wish.
Also Alluka hints at stuff that happened when Netero went to the DC as the Zzoldycks brought back an Ai somehow.
David Bailey
1- agreed 2- Fuck off. Literally foreshadowed like 10 times leading up to it. 3- kinda debatable. Still even the list says it's not that bad as it follows all nen rules. 4- Are you retarded? How is this an asspull?? They regain some of their original memories so that they can communicate and do complex tasks instead of acting like babies after being born. Wth. 5- agreed. Still the fact alluka is from dark continent makes it more believable. 6- Because he was having a fucking existential crisis??? Did the writer of the list not read the manga at all? When he was born he was the perfect ant born to be king: ruthless, unforgiving and supreme in every way. Spending time with komugi made him realise there was more to the world and himself.
So that's like 2 from almost 400 chapters. Compare that to other famous shonen like KnY or JJBA which are chock full of asspulls.
What if Koakuma Kanojo had thrilling, deep story arcs?
What if Rape Man had mind boggling, strategic combat?
What if Futabu somehow put all the penis and cum abilities in context?
What if Emergence had ambitious villains with charisma and nuance?
What if JK Bitch ni Shiboraretai had a much better fleshed out morals, characters and lesser predictable sex?
You can find the answer to all of these questions and more in doumou's Itadaki! Seiki!
Michael Wilson
None of it was foreshadowed prior to that arc
Dylan Brooks
Alluka as the 5th sibling has been a thing since the 2nd arc. And the arc introducing a new concept that builds off the previous one isn't a problem either. Don't pretend that Togashi needed to tell you exactly that reality warping wish graters existed before spending an entire arc explaining and in graining the concept.
Alluka isn't a problem. Arguably cheapening Gon's sacrifice is the problem, but Kite resurrecting already accomplished that.
>You know why Hunterfags don’t laugh about asspulls in others shonen? They do though
Landon Cook
That's not foreshadowing, that's trying to cover your ass after the fact. Foreshadowing doesn't resolve major plot points, that defeats the purpose. If Alluka had just been there as some creepy uncontrollable force that wrecked havoc then it'd be fine. If Killua hadn't gotten a free wish then it'd be fine. If Alluka having monkey paw powers had been mentioned at all previously then it'd be fine. But that didn't happen, and instead it's blatantly obvious Togashi just didn't have the balls to go through with Gon's sacrifice so he pulled a plot device out of his ass and tried to justify it by connecting it to a future arc that we'll probably never even reach.
Jack Robinson
This is a very low IQ post, let me explain to you why. This user cannot even comprehend the thought process that goes in writing because he never paid attention in lit class.
Nanika isn't an asspull by definition. Gon's state after his pledge had no precedent in the series, we, as readers, had no way to scale just how fucked he was. It is Togashi who did give us a way to assess it, when he wrote that scene with the exorcist saying there's nothing she can do.
This scene is important, because as far as we knew, that exorcist could just as well have been able to save Gon. Togashi could easily have written it that way or take any direction he wanted to. It could have been an arc about Killua going on some faggy quest on a goofy elf island to find the greatest nen exorcist, but instead Togashi introduced a character that not only gave us a glimpse of how Lovecraftian the DC was going to be, but also set in motion a lot of events within Killua's family and possibilities for future plotlines: Killua finally found a goal, Illumi now has even more reasons to try and control him, Gon lost his nen and retired as an MC, and Killua parted ways for the first time since like chapter 5, and all of this ties in with the DC and calamities.
>asspull x asspulls >kite dies >oh no crazy slots let me rezurrect as a loli ant >gon on verge of dying >oh yes free wish granting tranny bro heal me >hisoka dies >o my rubber nen bring me back to life >kurapika activate emperor time >no don’t worry it takes that long before i truly die fuck time and all
You can find them all and more in Yoshihiro Togashi's Hunter x Hunter.
William Gray
What if Hunter x Hunter had good drawings and a regular shedule?
Jaxon Sanders
Okay, that's awful, but did they raid threads not about HxH back then? Cause that's the most annoying part.
Josiah Gonzalez
>Hunter x Hunter had good drawings But it has. Your hatred of the series, caused by shitposters made you blind and somehow you think it gave you the credibility to judge a series without having read it in the first place
>Blood means good Maybe you should also read nu-berserk
Benjamin Young
It had good drawing SOMETIMES. But anyways you don’t need good drawing all the time to make a kino manga, look at Fire Punch or Kaiji
Carter Bennett
hunterfags have totally destroyed my sense of reality. I have no idea if this is a serious post by a hunterfag, an ironic post by a hunterfag, or someone false flagging as a hunterfag to make them look stupid. Fuck all of you, I can't come on this board without feeling like I'm in perfect blue
Thomas Torres
I'm not talking about the gore. Apparently there is tendency to identify something as seinen because it has a lot of blood and violence. But the true maturity or seinen-esque doesn't lie in blood, it lies in psychological themes and very accurate characterizations, which both are represented in HxH. Furthermore, since you brought up Berserk into the discussion, you can actually see the maturity by just looking and comparing Togashi's expressionist style with Berserk's childish "pretty" pictures.
there is absolutely no consistency in his drawings. sure there are some good pages but overall it often looks like the background is full HD and then comes the 144p from Togashi. the faces have no shading/detail. i often lose the illusion of realism when i read HxH and i hate that. its only drawings for me, not a scenery or sequence.... just still drawings on paper, and that is really a basic skill that mangakas should have
Now you retards are getting more and more ridiculous. He's not inconsistent. Togashi shifts his style completely depending on what he wants to express visaully. Sometimes it's more detailed and 'realistic', sometimes minimalistic, sometimes impressionistic
Manga isn't about who can draw the most detailed set of abs, newfag. It's about being able to effectively use the format to convey humanity and meaning through paneling and composition. Togashi is a master of the format.
Pic related >Left: Natural disasters >Right: Human disasters >Morena at the center balancing herself between the panels Kino.
Nah, its just the new gen of people that jumped on the bandwagon of the latest anime started going. Then another huge influx of people when they started airing the dub on adult swim in 2016
you cant argue with them. its like they try to convince themself that sucking a feminine cock isnt gay
Charles Harris
Pitou outright states Gon can never use Nen again and that he's condensed his life, that's why she's glad it wasn't vs Meruem. Killua mentions it too, I believe. It's also how it would work according to the rules set up beforehand. If the exorcist had saved Gon that'd be shitty writing too. The whole point is that he should've died, nobody should've been able to save him whether it was some genie sibling, some exorcist quest, or whatever.
Nothing in that pic happened before Alluka showed up to heal Gon, the fuck do you think FOREshadowing means?
Christian Reed
>Feels like it was within just the last two years. Correct
Ryder Nelson
How does an author introduce a new plot element built off previously established stuff while still having new revelations without it being an "asspull"?.
Pick any story this shit is the basis of writing. We knew the Grand Line existed but Skypeia was a new concept by the time Jaya rolled around. Yet an arc was used to establish it, and another to explore. Nothing dissimilar to how Togashi introduced Alluka.
You don't have to tell your reader everything they can expect in exact terms before you bring stuff to the story. Building off ideas is perfectly fine and you can just quibble on your personal enjoyment of any given instance.
Mason Moore
Keep cherrypicking unfinished pages from the magazine when Togashi's hand was fucked. It gives me the perfect ammo to keep exposing you as the outdated faggot you are.
Is every hiatusfag this much of an overanalyzing pretentious loser? Any scribble by Kawabata or Tanizaki has more talent in it than the entire work of Togashi. Read actual books if you're gonna act superior.
Parker Thompson
this pic is even worse than the one above! the chicken look worse while everything else looks the same. what the hell was your point by posting that pic??
So why aren't you keep posting those unfinished drawings from the magazine like you initially had planned? I have every page from the tank saved on my PC to debunk you little flies with ease
Xavier Hall
Looks like a draft. Is this what Hiatusfags put up with?
Jose Lee
has to be a pretty boring life you lived if you think we care that much about your trainwreck of a manga
I mean he clearly has nothing else going on in his life. He is actually pretending some comic book is on the level of actual literature. That's the problem with never picking up a book and believing some corporate children trash is the apex of cultural development.
Having experienced everything mentioned in the OP, I unironically think this is true, but I can see why people hate Hunter x Hunter fans on Yea Forums.
I don't respect the HxH fans that make posts like these, I only respect the ones that make appreciative posts without tearing something else down.
Christian Johnson
they are pretty much the """""woke atheists""""" of Yea Forums the cringe of the cringe
Oliver James
>How does an author introduce a new plot element built off previously established stuff while still having new revelations without it being an "asspull"?. By not making them have a huge impact on the plot? He didn't use an arc to establish and an arc to explore, he used a single arc to establish and then resolve a huge plot point in a terrible way. If Alluka being a genie had been hinted at during the first time we were introduced to the Zoldycks that would've been fine. Or even some mention of the weird shit that had been caused by the wishes. Or Killua hinting at being able to get free wishing energy. You can have revelations without impacting the plot, that's the whole point of worldbuilding. I like the manga overall, and there are some great highs, but Togashi is godawful at fleshing out the world outside of the plot in a way that makes sense, (almost) everything exists to serve what's currently happening in the story.
Tyler Williams
Why is it so hard for you to admit defeat lol? The game was over before we even started
Isaiah Barnes
>pretending More like knowing. The thing that most struck me most about HxH is how the entire Chimera Ant arc felt like one long work of literature, like a 19th century baroque novel or a Shakespearean tragedy. It's rife with symbolism, irony, themes, and felt appropriately mature and tonally rich. Some of the passages spoken by the narrator were so beautiful and memorable (e.g. the humans in the sky line), and the narration served to create the feeling that I was reading some intricate tapestry of prose. I loved how tragic and anticlimactic the death of Meruem was, because it was richly meaningful in tandem with the themes presented by the arc; and it's because of this that I speak of him in the same way I do as Macbeth, or Oedipus, or John Milton's Lucifer. Some scenes, like the match-cut of the boots stomping on the insects between the Rose bomb used on human cities spoke to me on a visceral level, just as Classic Lit does.
Defeat on what? Posting in an anonymous imageboard? Is that a competition now? That says a lot about your childish sensibilities. Read actual books. Grow up
Andrew Wright
Pretentious and overanalyzing children tripe. Absolute cringe. Watch him post gratuitous parallels with renaissance paintings as if it made his childish shit not childish.
Gavin Edwards
Go back, brainlet. It doesn't follow any single plot with a dogged emphasis on linear progression, because that's not what life is. Every arc is different, every arc is genuinely emotive. It's an author who isn't afraid to reference fucking Devilman and zero contract labourers. Balzac's struggles against the benchmark of wealth, Henry Miller's chaotic idolisation of the flawed, fucking Gilgamesh or Henry IV's record of friendship. Go read a book or two, then maybe you'll understand the significance of Yoshihiro Togashi's Hunter x Hunter
How incredibly pretentious. Namedropping things you've heard of and never read doesn't make your childish corporate tripe less childish. If you'd read actual books when you were younger you wouldn't be pretending this is deep in any way. Especially comparing with XX century writers. Faggots can't even get into Bolano or Danielewski, just on basic middle school literature. That is as far as Togashi will ever get and that is not even as far as you'll go, follower.
James Barnes
Actually hold up. The first post I responded too only asked me to justify Alluka. Foreshadowing was never the topic and if your the same guy, changing goalposts is poor form.
And Alluka works the way it does because Killua himself doesn't abuse her powers and the rest of the family keeps the host locked up. But again, we know about the extra sibling at the early parts of the series. Even have a family photo to confirm the count.
Alluka is justified in the setting. I don't see your problem other than she feels cheap. I get it but it's a far more minor complaint than saying it's out and out bad writing. Nanika comes about as a prelude to the true horrors the DC can bring. Coming as a surprise is just as appropriate as the ant queen washing up on shore.
Oliver Ramirez
HxH is the opposite of corporate, the author owns his work, not the corporation, and can publish whenever he wants. Find a more appropriate target to shitpost, you're making it too obvious.
Something was foreshadowed != good storytelling Foreshadowing is simply a literary technique See
Andrew Martin
Except that he signed with Jump Comics and his only claim to fame was a fucking Tezuka award for breakthrough artists and marrying someone more talented than him. The only reason he can stay on hiatus while you pretend he's an artist is because his wife has massive clout. You'd think with all that time between episodes you'd pick up a book or two, some Kobo Abe or some Yasunari Kawabata, but all you do is be pretentious on an imageboard and pretend you're cultured for consuming children entertainment. Absolute cringe
Aaron Smith
What if One Piece had thrilling, deep story arcs? It's called Classroom of the Elite >What if Dragonball had mind boggling, strategic combat? It's called World Trigger >What if FMA had a much better fleshed out morals, characters and lesser predictable fights It's called Shingeki no Kyojin
Dude HunterxHunter is so boring. I read the first chapter and about half way through I had to put it down. It made no sense, the story was vapid and the characters were lame. I am convinced that HxH manga users suffer from a condition known as “The Sunken Cost Fallacy”. They were tricked into liking this manga and realized it was shit after reading it for a long time. However because of their pride and arrogance and hubris, they felt compelled to continue reading it, lest they look like fools. Even after their author hasn’t released a new chapter in months, they persist, like the vermin they are, on constantly defending their mediocre manga.
Read chapter 1, then watch the 2011 anime they say and start reading at chapter 389, as some sort of sick twisted demented joke. Misery loves company. They have been sucked into the hunter vortex and their is no escape and the only comfort they now find, because their manga provides none, is at the thought of inflicting like torments on unsuspecting manga fans, who are blissful ignorant to the wiles of the hunter fan enigma. So they read and they watch, unaware that the manga they are reading is actually terrible and makes no sense, but by the time they realize this, they have been enveloped by the hunter gravity pull of suck and they cannot escape it’s black hole of homosexuality.
First it is reading Hunter x Hunter, next thing you know, they are sucking cock in a Utah gas station, turning tricks for the wealthy patronage of Salt Lake City, having no shortage on either customers or enthusiasm. He turns the page, and spreads his cheeks, turns a page and spreads his cheeks. This cycle continues, slowly biding his time for the release of the next chapter, which is never coming, and he spirals deeper and deeper into his depression, never able again to see the light and joy of life and slowly succumbs to his despair.
Owen Nelson
Continued:
Ten years later, with Hunter x Hunter being on infinite hiatus, the lonely homosexual HxH fan finally decides to commit suicide by sleeping pills, the way all cowards do, and this could have all been avoided, if he had just read One Piece and Dragonball like a good boy.

Sounds like an attachment problem. You really dumped your self steem on a cartoon.
Jordan White
HxH started before he married Naoko, dumbass, do a google search before spouting nonsense. Togashi owns the rights for the manga and it even says POT, which is property of Togashi. Of all the manga to rag on for being "corporate" you chose one of the very few that is actually owned by the artist. You must feel stupid right now.
>You'd think with all that time between episodes >episodes How embarrassing. Also, Kawabata is entry-level; read more books.

>bait To be honest, reading good books is the only thing that can measure up to HxH for me. I recently finished a read through of Erasmus's "In Praise of Folly". I especially enjoyed the satirical, but deliberate and intelligent critique on the mindless cycle of repeating traditions in 16th century Europe, and found it especially applicable for the modern era.
I remember the section of the work where Folly marches all about, praising herself over and over, declaring that life would simply be dull and empty without her, despite her honest pointlessness. This reminded me heavily of the wayward Boku no shit and One Piece fans who continue to, week after week, endlessly praise their awful series, despite it being clear to the rest of us that any semblance of "quality" and "integrity" these series once possessed now being long gone, the fans simply following and supporting them out of a mindless tradition.

Currently reading "Einführung in die Metaphysik" by Heidegger, which was recommended to me by a fellow Hunterchad.
It's the only way then can cope with their miserable lives. HxH is faux mature and that attracts the worst kind of people. They probably got bullied a lot for liking manga and cartoons and getting called childish. Then they saw this manga with lots of blood and words words words that make it seem deep, so now they read it and go see I am mature because I read this thing. So they talk shit about others who they view as childish to feel better
Eli Powell
>Manga for a younger audience doesn't have as much blood for a seinen audience. Wow a shocker right?
Jaxon Price
The only posts in this thread that were me are I've been talking about foreshadowing the entire time. Yes, the extra sibling is there, but that doesn't tell the reader anything except that there's a mysterious person there and that could mean anything. It didn't have to be anything that even hinted at being siblings, Killua could've made some comment about wishes or the Dark Continent. As for the ant queen, she's different because she's the cause of a plot point that has to be resolved, not the end of one. It's fine for antagonists and problems to be a little out of nowhere, they are issues that will (hopefully) be dealt with in a satisfying manner. But having a solution come out of nowhere is skipping the whole point of the story, the journey.
Yes, foreshadowing is a literary technique. Literary techniques are used to make good stories, what's hard to understand about this? The whole problem with asspulls is that they come out of nowhere, if your story is about a guy who wants to cure his sick friend, it's not a good story if his sick friend is suddenly cured miraculously.
Landon Jones
that's not what eternal recurrence means you cuck. That scene was more in line with eastern/buddhist philosophy about reincarnation and reaching nirvana than Nietzschean philosophy.
Anthony Hall
Poor Koala, what was he doing in the NGL before all this happend? How did he react moments before his painful death?
Imagine being this fucking guy. Just imagine opening your eyes and start an absolute lie of a life. Imagine opening Yea Forums on a tab then pretend to be cultured all day to defend some shonen whose appreciation you turned into a surrogate personality. Imagine being scared by actual books so you just namedrop them in an imageboard while thanking anonimity for not forcing you to walk your talk
Jaxon Collins
I think HxH threads should be banned on Yea Forums. It's not like the series was ever being discussed and this is plain spam at this point so nothing of value would be lost.
Gabriel Scott
So the hunterchad is scared of doing his homework. He'll keep pretending some teenager picture book is a form of culture in any way.
Wyatt Miller
They aren't mutually exclusive. It was exploring both, hence "one of the few contemporary fiction to actually challenge Nietzschean concepts and subvert them."
Also, pic related. HxH explores the Nietzsche philosophy that if you stare long enough in the abyss, the abyss is going to stare back. And that if you fight monsters, beware not to become a monster yourself.
Wow so this... Is the depth... Of Hunter x Hunter... Taking a famous quote... Out of context... Whoah...
Luis Rogers

No seriously think about it for a second. It has been proven multiple times now, even in this very thread, that hunterchad posting exists for a long time now. How do you explain the fact that they are more and more people who fall for these (obvious) baits every single time?
Oliver Perez
>merely pretending for years And, as expected, the uber genius, Yea Forumspilled hunter"""""chad""""" shows his intellectual dishonesty. That's what happens when you read shonen in your 20s and namedrop actual literature to defend doing so.
I can understand your feelings now, you're probably feeling insulted since I exposed you as a newfag who will fall for the lowest bait by any HxH"chad". Maybe one month from now you will finally realize then t hat you have been baited this whole time, but it doesn't change the fact that a new wave of naive newfags will pour into these threads and repeat this cycle. Is this "foreshadowing" for HxH fags? It's outright explicit. Is this "nuance" for shonenfags?
Sebastian Sullivan
You're making the same mistakes over and over again. Let me spell it out for you: All this hunterchad posting, about having to read actual literary works to get a greater understand of HxH etc. is just messing with newfags such as yourself who can't resist taking these obvious baits simply because sincereness is lost in today's internet age where everything posts behind layers of irony. If you just had been on Yea Forums for at least the past 2-3 months and visited some of these threads, you would've known that most of them are just slightly altered pastas and the same edits that are keep getting posted.

You faggots actually make me hate the manga. Was this your plan all along?
You must realize how pathetic you are. You come into a thread of a series you don't like, and enter into "arguments" with the posters. I call them arguments, but it's really just you being incredibly, irrationally angry, and calling everyone a "faggot" over and over. Oh and you have some kind of insecurity complex regarding literature, so you must show everyone how smart you are and how stupid everyone else is. By posting infographics you probably saved off of Yea Forums, and namedropping authors youve likely never even read.
Here's a protip: nobody, and I mean NOBODY cares. Not one person here cares a whit about your opinions. It's probably the same for you, irl, yeah? People are by themselves enjoying something and you have to angrily stomp over and tell them why you hate said thing. Meanwhile they look at you uncomfortably, while they wait for you to fuck off back to being alone like you belong.
Meanwhile your actual literature taste is trash and entry level. You're simply an embarrassing pseud. Shocker

is this bait? have you actually read any of this book and you spout out retarded opinions like this?

What if HxH was good and was completed in a reasonable amount of time? You can find out these answers and more in YYH.
Hisoka causes a man's arms to disintegrate into flower petals. While fitting his magician theme, this is completely unrelated to his Death Dealer fighting style or his actual Nen-based power, and is never used again.

That was 2011 anime censorship. He cuts the guys arm's with a card in the manga.
Gon risks his and Killua's lives just so he can meet a father that admitted to abandoning him, and yet he refuses to acknowledge his birth mother because she didn't raise him without knowing anything about her. He sweeps the fact that Killua murdered a handful of innocent people during the Hunter Exam under the rug. He makes Hanzo forfeit his battle by making forcing him to make a Sadistic Choice. He threatens to murder an innocent, already-injured girl just so Pitou can heal Kite. When Kite turned out to be fine, he shows no regrets for the lines he crossed just so he could avenge him being All for Nothing.

And how Togashi loves faggots and traps.

I’m aware that some retards like you dislike paragraphs because autism and trying hard to fit in. Why should I care what faggots like you use or don’t use? Get the fuck out with your muh reddit spacing.

double spreads dont need to be full of art. togashi isn't the only mangaka who has done simple double spreads.

There was a sibling MIA. Pretty sure the mother also called it a 'thing' back then as well. There's something off with this extra kid that scares a family of assassin's. But I agree an implication to the fact it's a monster from an old expedition to DC was needed, and something to support it being a monkey paw. We see nothing of Killua's protective nature/bonding with this kid, given he's a murdering psychopath when we meet him.
Seems like they are missing the point as far as the ants personalities and meruem's personality changing goes. Wasnt the entire idea that despite being superior they would develop the flaws of humans through emotion, individuality, etc

Look at this faggot. He thinks he's hot shit because he's defending some sophomoric cartoon for teenagers. He defends his ignorance with this shit, and has never picked up a book. Yet he thinks he's a "chad" because Togashi is so shit at drawing he fills his manga with walls of text. He thinks that counts as reading a book.

Hunterchads... It's not fair... Usually my pretentious namedropping of entry level XIX century literature is enough to make the haters leave us alone... But now... Someone with actual knowledge entered the thread... I can't handle it fellow hunterchads... I can't handle having dropped out of highschool... I thought that if I namedropped enough books it'd make me smart... But the truth is... Cartoons are cartoons... Nothing more, nothing less... Hold me bros... I feel stupid... Ging pisses me off. What an absolute fucking garbage game he made. The whole thing revolves around running the fuck away. Literal fucking garbage.
HxH had its fair share of wonderful moments, but it is so blown out of proportion with how some of the ugliest, cringiest panels and "deep" dialogue bubbles get praised as 10/10 material even though they are objectively terrible.
>"I beat this into you" You can just view this as stated. The kid spent 5~ or so years training with the family, and his asshole brother beat the shit out of him, to make him understand his limits. He's the chosen one of the family after all, they don't want him dying like a scrub years before he peaks.

Why is Gon such a shit MC? I mean Luffy is infinitely more likeable. I think it's Gons gay personality and clothing. Luffy could beat up Gon even in his asspull adult form easily too.

They are both fucking gay though. Like ZERO interest in pussy. I get Gon because he is some fucking psychopath shota but Luffy always has his face in tits and just never cares for them.
John Ross
>user tells me not to reply to him >instead he replies to me Kek, you are such a fucking moron.

Based. Gon has never done anything even close to that interesting. Even just the basic description of that is more interesting than the entire HxH manga.
Sebastian Reed
You have to activate the muscles in your lips to make your teeth come out like that. You don't do that when you yell or cry. And if you did that, your tongue would stand forward. The expression doesn't work. Especially at that angle. Oda should have shown it from the side.
Gabriel Lewis
Gon is legitimately gay for Killua. Luffy isn't gay he just isn't that focused on women. He has dreams and goals and shit. Fuck bitches. Get One Piece.
Luke Fisher
I just tried making a face like that and it felt pretty natural. My tongue wasn't forced by my upper lip or anything.
Thomas Gonzalez
>What if JoJo somehow put all the violence and Stand abilities in context? wtf does that even mean
Tyler Torres
Post pics.I can't make both my upper or lower lips go behind my teeth at the same time without pushing the muscles in the lower lips forward or below, and my lower lips wouldn't move below my teeth when screaming anyway.
This seems to be the expression Oda is going for, but teeth just don't show that way. Unless Luffy is stretching his teeth or something like that.
There is absolutely no specimen of this website as deluded and as obnoxious as the "hunterchad". Their delusion knows no bounds, they unironically defend their shonen as if it was in the level of actual literature or something made for the ages, when it couldn't be further from the truth. The worst part of it is the intellectual dishonesty of the average hiatusfag. One might tell him that the "loose, deconstructed structure" of the series is nothing when compared to an average Tezuka manga, which was looser and more unorthodox in its events, it all runs off him. One could tell him that Togashi's famous stream of consciousness walls of text lack Urasawa's conciseness and good writing, he'll pretend to not hear you. One could tell him that Oda's worldbuilding absolutely destroys Togashi lazy crap of arranging earth continents in a different way and calling it a day, he'll pretend that you're not there. One might tell him that Peter Greenaway and Junji Ito make way better integration of classic works of art to the dramatic structure, making those parallels a powerful punctuation for the narrative, he'll pretend Togashi is at the same level. One could tell him there's more nuance in Tezuka's Crime and Punishment, the hiatusfag will feign ignorance on these subjects. There is no specimen more disgusting and more intellectually dishonest than your average hiatusfag, if you see one in the wild, it is your obligation, I repeat, your obligation, to mock his ignorance of the medium and tell him to go kill himself.
Thomas Hughes
>One might tell him that the "loose, deconstructed structure" of the series is nothing when compared to an average Tezuka manga That's wrong. Hunterchads love Tezuka's work and concede that he's on par with Togashi. It was literally the Tezuka Award that kickstarted Togashi's career.
The rest of your post is delusion. Urasawa can't write smart characters to save his life.
Nobody is "challenging you", you desperately insecure little man. Just deal with the fact everyone does what Togashi does but better.
Nathaniel Wilson

Chrollo is incredibly well written, another example is where he's smart enough to pick up the bait Hisoka laid in his fake fortune, but not realise it was a trap. Smart but flawed. If only every mangaka had the same IQ as Togashi.

He is right about Urasawa, though. Urasawa's villains are always 3 steps ahead of people they know nothing about (until they just aren't, near the end of the story). Like there could be a random journalist that learned about their plan on a fluke, and left a hidden note for a friend, and when the friend finds the note, Urasawa's villain's henchman will be there.
They also often have plans that largely rely on coincidences and other characters taking very specific actions out of dozens of possibilities, like everything in 20th Century Boys. They could often even end up dead early on the story if the protag or one of his friends wasn't a faggot and shot them or if "random guy who finds the plan early but is assassinated" bothered to make a log of his finding.
And finally Urasawa's villains are able to easily convince anybody of doing anything they want, when off-panel, but are never able to say anything particularly persuasive a protag.

Alexander Moore
Plebs are so stupid, so cowardly, so complacent that they can't even respond to our arguments. They don't have the will to. They're satisfied with being second fiddle to HxH for the rest of their lives.
Hmm you are right. I guess what really ruined it was the fucking boat and having literally no chapters. The terrible almost hamfisted art at times. I could look past all that and say this is an okay series. Then anons like fellow hunterchads come along and really bring all those glaring issues to light.
Logan Ward
Imagine being so autistic you can only like one manga. I like JoJo, One Piece and Dragon Ball just fine while liking Hunter x Hunter.
Why is Hunter x Hunters character design so bad? There's no consistency, it's like every character just hit RANDOM on some Korean MMO

Spotted the newfag falseflagging. You can find Hunterchads BTFOing other fanbases for years. Someone even posted a 2010 example ITT. It just didn't have a formal name until last year. Hunterchad posting got so huge in 2018 only because it's something HxH fans always had in their character. Keep seething, shonenfag.

reading HxH and winning are on opposite ends of the planet

Okay after another thread talking shit I must ask the hiatusfags: Why is HxH so incredibly well written and paced? Togashi's sense of mistery is unparalelled. I'm absolutely certain he reads twice as much as he writes. There is no other way. It's structurally sounder in its motifs than fucking Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness. It gets to a point where it's fucking poetic in its setups and resolutions. Togashi is the best manga writer and has been for the last 20 years. I mean it. If it weren't for the hunterchads of this board I would have never given HxH a sincere opportunity. Thank god I did.
Urasawa's writing is a bit more mature, but that is largely because Togashi is very lax and irresponsible by nature and became rich in his early 20s despite putting little effort in everything he did, while Urasawa only became a hit in his 30s.
Still, >Togashi creates villains while Urasawa creates antagonists and deuterogonists. This is almost the opposite. Meruem is far more of a Deuteragonist than even Johan. Tomodachi is not even a real character by the end of 20th Century Boys.
Jaxon Edwards
HxH is such a rapid fire execution of intelligently composed scenes that few other manga stimulate me now. Togashi is logical, shows interest in geopolitics, Fine Arts and complicated social interaction. You can tell how cultured he is from his work.
>You must realize how pathetic you are. You come into a thread of a series you don't like, and enter into "arguments" with the posters. The thread started as a troll post if you’ll recall, bashing other mangas that are just as popular if not more popular than HxH
>you have some kind of insecurity complex regarding literature, so you must show everyone how smart you are and how stupid everyone else is. Nice projection
>Meanwhile your actual literature taste is trash and entry level. You're simply an embarrassing pseud. Shocker Holy shit you’re an open book. This is why hunterfags are so insecure, because they know they are pretentious and we see right through them.
Grow up faggot. HxH is world class trash
Joshua Taylor
You can see that Togashi has above average near level genius intelligence by the way he writes smart characters. You can also tell by the way he carefully takes care of what they know and what they can know. Everyone knows what they should and make decisions based on their limited knowledge.
Sebastian Richardson

This thread is mostly a falseflag and an ancient pasta, though. Not sure why you take it seriously.
Like. I am the "Hunterchad" that has btfo the most people in this thread and I like JoJo and OP too, am impartial to FMA, and think DB is historically important. And while I don't like HeroAca, I feel like it still has merits, design and art-wise.
