Even if you're going to view it from that approach, there's still Strength, The Sun, Empress, Wheel of Fortune, etc. It's hard to tell where the line would be drawn between a stand and the stand's power for a lot of these.

Empress could've just been a straight up parasite posing as a human, especially since the user apparently could do exactly that already.
However the Lovers did need to be able to be extracted from Joseph, so Steely Dan couldn't just have the ability to link his injuries to someone else.

I was trying to think of a stand that had an ability that needed to be apart and wasn't also a long range stand but the only one I could think of was Moody Blues, maybe Thoth, and technically Killer Queen but that's only because Sheer Heart Attack which is virtually another Stand and a long range one at that and maybe Bites the Dust.

I feel like Araki really, really is bad at planning stuff. I genuinely feel like he draws every chapter without thinking about the chapters he has to draw next and how the story that he is currently drawing is going to develop.

Other stands that can easily kill Rohan are Star Platinum, Bad Company, Surface, Ratt, Harvest, Atom Heart Father, Stray Cat, Enigma and Killer Queen's primary or secondary bomb

I also was talking about Biggu, everything the party did was effectively stalling - you can't exactly destroy it because it's Wolverine on steroids, you can't kill the user because he's already dead; you can either slow it down or escape (could you contain it? I recall a comic where there was a blob that ate everything in its way, even the containers, I'd assume it's the same here)

Janken Boy absorbed it and became immune. Yuya drained Rohan's nutrients before he could use it properly. Cheap Trick became Rohan's stand so he was just attacking himself. BtD went inside his eye so it was untargetable. In every single one of Rohan's fights after getting raped by Josuke, he was only ever able to use his stand as support. Every. Single. One.
