because its about solving problems with violence and glorifies a race that can turn into monkeys
Dragon Ball is about self-improvement. A lot of the characters are into fighting mostly in the competitive sporting sense.
Outside of Vegeta, no one really enjoys the bloodshed, by which I mean the type of fighting in which lives are lost and people are in danger.
Only Americans don't like DBZ
It's the sense of machismo, nobility, and familial bonding that permeates the series. The camaraderie between the Z-Fighters is probably the biggest defining factor behind its popularity with everybody people of color. No one seems to really get this.
Because it was the best brain dead entertainment when they were young, and new generations come to like it too simply because it is really popular
Dragon Ball is a beloved show in basically every country where it was broadcasted. Belonging to a particular ethnicity has nothing to do with it being liked, since it's the only anime/manga with true mainstream universal appeal (not counting pokemon since it originated from a game franchise rather than a manga or anime). Now, if you're referring to some Latin America's countrys fanaticism, that has to do with it being broadcasted at a time where a bunch of them were growing up, so it's highly based on nostalgia.
is funimation actually in trouble or is twitter overreacting? I dont really know anything about dub history or vic.
Have you actually been around blacks? The fighting and power is the defining factor, camaraderie is lame nigga shit
I have.
everyone loves DBZ
You disregard all the whites and asians who do because you're a racist.
>tell him bring my whole squad back to life
>all my friends are dead. wish em back I said
>implying camaraderie isn't the defining factor when there are literal songs about this.
This. You don't see One Piece or Hunter times Hunter movies doing a killing at the Italian, Spaniard or Bongistan box offices. That's something only the King of shonen can do.
You must've only been around corny light skins
>implying fighting and power isn't the defining factor when popular rap is mostly about dominance and success over others
Dominance and desire for success are traits universally associated with males. At this point, you might as well ask why do men love DB and get a similarly obvious answer. You're also seemingly forgetting the fact that the MC's defining trait isn't his lust for dominance or even obsession with victory, but rather his endless will for self-improvement. Fighting just happens to be the thing he loves and therefore what he lives to improve in.
We never talk about BDZ in Hispachan, maybe DBZ is a Yea Forums thing.
they love anime, dbz is just really popular and nostalgic
>desire for success
Success over others. Most of these rap songs talk about how they're destroying the competition, fucking people over, and bragging about being cold blooded killas with no remorse. It's the image of having power.

you have to be of lower intelligence to be able to fully appreciate dbz and its mindless action
DBZ is loved everywhere, esp in Japan.
Same reason Asians, Europeans and non-hispanic, non-black Americans do.
Shonen manga is about that in general. The main character's goal is always connected to a trade, a craft or a discipline and his love and dedication to it.
While they get better they also make strong bonds with people who share interests. It's just life, after all. You become passionate about something and you forge friendships among people who share those interests.
So Goku forging bonds through martial arts is, in essence, no different than Hanamichi Sakuragi forging bonds through basketball, for instance. Some people are just too thick to get something that simple and say that DB is all about violence.
I went to mex for vacay back in the late 90s and dragonball/dbz would air 4 times a day on antena.
On sat or sun morning they would air a 4 hour block of it
Dragon Ball has been showed in many Latin American countries since the 90s almost without pause. That's why it has many fans spanning many generations.
Since then there's been a lot of merchandising, stickers, shitty toys, the good toys (in comic stores), the manga has been sold, etc. We tend to do that, though, it didn't happen with Dragon Ball only, the same happens with things such as El Chavo del 8 and El Chapulín Colorado, or in some countries even with El Zorro. The thing is that both Gómez Bolaños and Guy Williams not only stopped doing it many decades ago, but they are both dead as well. But we still get reruns of it and it never gets old; I'm sure if there was a way to resurrect them, make them young again and they decided to start doing it again we would lose our shit the same way we do when there's some new DB.
How can Toei be so retarded? They should've helped them do that. You know how good this is as advertising? What do they think, that it would affect their sales? On the contrary, people will be more inclined to buy the BluRay just to remember what they felt when they watched it.
Unfortunately my country was too retarded to do something like that.
same reason why they like any mainstream anime like naruto or one piece
Why does it matter?
pretty much
