And why is it Togashi?
Who's the best panelist in the industry?
Isayama
He's up there but Toriyama is the best
This is one of my favorite examples of Togashi's paneling. The Bungee Gum extending to be a border between the panels is creative as hell.
lmao
why is there so much furigana in this? wasn't this supposed to be a seinen?
No it isn't
I thought these were cool
One more
>creative as hell
Literally babby's first paneling
Bow down to your king
>Who's the best panelist in the industry?
ONE
Based Herochad.
>Witch Hat Atelier
Fuck, I just remembered I stopped reading this one. I should pick it up again
Toriyama is the god.
Few gimmicks, just fantastic storyboarding. A lot of other authors try to cover for their issues by either stylizing the panels, or by making them 'unique', Toriyama just made the story clear and easy to read, more so than any other battle-manga mangaka.
based drawlet one
Fujimoto Tatsuki (Fire Punch + Chainsaw Man) has some fantastic paneling in his comics. Some of the best I've seen from any relatively new artist.
Oda is better
art brainlet here. What's the point of that thing mangakas do some times where they draw one image and then cut it in two with panel lines? It looks dumb and I don't get why anyone would bother with it
Personally I can't give it to Oda because of his art. While serviceable, OP's art can be very cluttered at points which in my mind is part of paneling.
That's only true post-ts
Pitou jumping at Kaito must be the most dynamic paneling ever.
Kamome Shirahama (Witch Hat Atelier), ONE, and Hitoshi Ashinano (Yokohama Kaidaishi Kikou) are my favourites.
>woahh the art is like, not contained in it's panels its like 3D woahh
No.
4th wall panel gags are the best
Inoue is better than toriyama
Based
MHA is a classic case of a good artist who can't write a satisfying story to save his life.
Why does Yea Forums get so triggered by this page?
Shonenshitters are afraid of words
Tkmiz is able to make 4koma paneling interesting so he has that going for him
>why is it Togashi?
He isnt
Because it reads like it was written like a high-schooler looking to hit a word limit on an essay, verbosity that does nothing but extend the writing. These are comics - every comic artist/mangaka wants to write what they picture, and every writer wants to draw what they vision, they still have to abide by the rules of their medium. Finally its just Togashi dumping info onto the viewer about this guy, instead of thinking of a fun way to do this, the guy just writes what his character is thinking, that is just incredibly lazy.
That specific page is about a character whose power becomes stronger the more in depth his analysis of his enemy's power is though. There are exactly two pages like this in the manga, and they're both about characters analyzing a situation in depth. Of course it looks ridiculous without context, but actually reading it as part of the manga it doesn't feel out of place.
It all just reeks to me as a reactive push back against the HxH shitposters.
>That specific page is about a character whose power becomes stronger the more in depth his analysis of his enemy's power is though.
holy fucking kek really?
I honestly don't get praises for Togashi's paneling. Yes, he's competent, but so are many manga artists. He's not the best at paneling in history of Jump - hell, not even a shortlist candidate.
It's particularly baffling to me because Murata openly praised him for the paneling - and someone like Murata would've read enough manga to know that Togashi's hardly unique in this ctaft
You can do analysis without just putting text on white background. Additionally Rihan can gather info through means far more interesting to the reader than him talking to himself with little proof to back-up his deductions. Have him talk this situation out with someone else, have him speak small amount at a time thereby shortening the info dump, make the character do interesting things while this is going on.
There is no need to write this much Dialog for what is essentially,
"Kurapika is spreading this Nen around, but I believe he is too much of a threat to go after now. Predator does worst against those with Enhancer or Emitter abilities and I've got a 48 hour recharge. I think Halkenburg is the safest target, but I got get close to this guy on my own, however, I already have some ideas about this Halkenburg's powers."
