I'm more of a LN person too, but the problem about the Tensura(for EOPs) is that the LN has only 5(6?) volumes translated, and volume 5 is exactly where the anime stopped, so there's not that much to read, while the WN has everything translated.
And the manga right now is also at the arc that the s2 is going to adapt.
