Jojo noob

Hey, Yea Forumsnons. I've just recently picked up Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (the anime, not the manga). I'm enjoying it so far, but I stupidly decided to watch the anime in release order. Meaning, the 1993 OVA, then the 2000 OVA, and finally, the 2012 series. My question is, why is Stardust Crusaders the most well-loved arc in the series? Why is it respected enough to not only get 2 OVAs (released out of order, no less) and a video game, but also the 2014 remake? Is it basically The Golden Age Arc of Jojo?

It was the first part where Jojo started being the current Jojo with stands and such. It also has Jotaro and Dio, who are iconic for the series. Its actual quality is questionable though depending on who you ask. Maybe it's just overexposure but I'm sick of part 3 and wish it would stop leeching itself onto everything Jojo related.

I was curious about the Stands. I'm deep into season 1 of the 2012 series and there's no mention of Stands so far. Dio is there, though. I'm guessing he has an Anakin Skywalker type character arc or what?

Stands start in part 3. Dio's a vampire and so is immortal so he shows up again in part 3. I imagine this isn't a spoiler since you said you already watched the part 3 OVA.

Most people's first exposure to Jojo was Parts 1,3 or Part 5

It's more iconic and well-loved than high quality. Like others have said it's the first part that introduced Stands and hung a lot of Stand battles on a loose "Around the World in 80 days" framework. Personally I find it very boring until the cast gets to Egypt, outside of a few standout points like Hol Horse. Biggest issue is that there's a large cast of characters but only some of them have any real personality. The main character Jotaro is especially bad in this regard. If you read/watch the parts in order it's almost like torture having to go from Young Joseph to Jotaro as protagonist. Old Joseph steals the show sometimes but his weak stand precludes him from a lot of the fights.

Stands are such a cool concept and the end battle between Dio and Jotaro is so hype that I think people just forget all the shitty stands before that. I would just watch the David Pro anime in order by parts, maybe you can switch to the Sunrise OVAs for certain fights in Part 3, they're definitely higher quality.

>sunrise ova
I believe the studio is a.p.p.p.

>part 5

I started with the OVA because it was the first anime adaptation of the manga, but I regret it now. I should've started with the 2012 series.

>not starting from the 2007 phantom blood movie
Filthy quaternary

What's so special about a picture of araki eating donuts? Am I not seeing something?

Yeah, basically the golden standard for jojo. But you wont regret watching the rest of the series.

What are you bluddy talking about you dog bitch I was playing Golden Wind on my PS2 over 15 years ago and then started reading the manga

Just wait for part six.

It had the first Japanese Jojo, introcuced stands and is all around simply the most iconic one.
Popularity != Quality

>Popularity != Quality
this however is the case for part 3

>Watched parts 1 and 2
>Watched S1 of part 3 and dropped it
>Watched 9 episodes of part 4 and dropped it
>Watched part 5
>Read 17 chapters of part 6 and dropped it
>Just finished reading part 7
Well, I'm all Jojo'd out. It was okay.

Because it had the best cast, fights and setting of any part. Even to this day this holds true.

if you open it your computer get a virus

>best fights.
It have some of the best fights but 4 and 5 had better in general
>best setting
