Law is now free from custody thanks to someone's conspiracy. He decides to go with the conspiracy. It seems Appo had been under the umbrella of Kaido before Kidd, Hawkins and Apoo confronted Kaido. (Japanese spoiler summary is ambiguous.) Hawkins had no choice but to become a subordinate under Kaido for survival.
"Numbers" attend the party that Kaido and Big Mom hold.
Kaido and Big Mom decide to make a pirate alliance. Their subordinates are surprised to hear that. Kaido and Big Mom say it would not be too late to kill each other after conquering the world.

He describes it as his slashes “tearing the fire apart.” Now that we know it wasn’t Akainu’s magma that gave Kaido an X shaped burn and cut scar, but Oden, it should be expected that Kinemon’s skill is above the ability of yonko commanders in the sense that he could burn big mom or kaido. He still wouldn’t be able to win but he’s at the level of strength where his punches actually hurt them, so to speak, and Luffy only just got there and Zoro still has to learn a way.

O: OK, got it! Here are the drawing of Law's tattoos taken from my notes. He has heart themed tattoos, but I wonder if there is a reason for that? The name of his sword is Kikoku (鬼哭, Kikoku?, literally meaning "Demon's Cry"). It has no rank. It is a "cursed sword".

Im starting to think this whole Fire Festival thing is a big ruse by Oda. Any sort of plan anyone have will completely devolve with BM in the picture. The plan is a way to set up things and frame the plot of the arc. Things can't go exactly as planned, that's just boring, but in failure there's a lot of variety. It's not just the wedding, plans almost always fail to some degree.

Naval battles aren't really Oda's things. He's never really pulled one off, since in the end abilities are more about fighting personally due to DFs and such. I feel like it'd be a waste of a great setting too, since Wano and Onigashima seem a lot more interesting than the water inbetween. It's still one of my gripes with WCI's second half, though at least in that we only had one story in the sea.
