I could care less about the adverts. Since a lot of them are billboards or restaurants you can actually see in Tokyo. Did the adverts actually push themselves in your faces and them sayinh "OH USE THIS!!!" or where they there as backgrounds like normal? That's a big difference really.

The only way Taki and Mitsuha met is before Weathering. Because of the perpetual rain and of course in the ending, a flooded Tokyo.

I think the TakiMitsu reunion scene happens shortly before the events of Weathering since it's still very sunny throughout Tokyo.

Real talk, if we are just talking about how the story is laid out, Weathering trumps Your Name easily because of the subjects and how Shinkai is "trying to be being subtle" in calling out, well, fucking everyone.
