I like the artstyle of that one.

Unlucky mansion. I'm not into romances, but enjoyed this one a lot. It's pretty /fa/ as well

Depends on what you're looking for. Overall though, I think the dramas tend to be on the weak side and predictable or make no sense. The slice of life and gag webtoons are well suited.

The only non-humor one I can think of that I thought was well done (in the sense that it actually tried to explore an idea) is 'the friendly winter'. The art was quite good for that one, shading too.

i don't mind talking about them on Yea Forums

I really dislike the fact that ALL of them are colored. Makes them noisy as fuck and usually actually takes the art quality down a notch.

manhwa in the classic style and format are a mixed bag, there are one that really good and ones that are unreadable. Add to this their weird taste for drama and suffering.
the opinion about webtoons is more complex. It feels like the balance between art and story is very skewed towards the latter and art is not use to contribute to the narration but only as a visual aid , like pretty pictures in kids books. At the same time I understand that they are a different thing from classic manga created by an evolving market and therefore it shouldn't be really compared

tl,dr;
manhwa is just like manga except for korean taste
webtoons degrade the value of art in narration

On the one hand, kudos to pumping these out colored
On the other hand, I very much agree. Especially when most are done with flat colours and no/minimal shading
which can work, but like you said, it's a bit "noisy" and the overall quality would probably be better without it

Anything worth reading? Would appreciate any recommendations.

Anything that's natively created to be enjoyed on smartphones is automatically garbage.

Not anime/manga

Oh yeah I've read that a while ago until the translator stopped scanlating them.

I liked Peerless Dad and Blades of the Guardians

Long strip is a format that doesn't deserve to exist.

Art sucks. Colour is good to have, but only if the basic art is good to begin with. The flat tones and ubiquity ruins the value of having colour in the first place, and it tries to compensate for lack of real detail, so it ends up worse overall.

Also wrong board but whatever, you were asking for Yea Forums's opinion, and nothing is sacred anymore anyways.

I honestly love them when I can find a good one. I really like how the visual storytelling shifts when the format is vertical.

That being said, I do think that a lot of them can suffer storywise in favor of pretty art. Not only that, but a lot of the popular webtoon artists are being worked to the bone to keep producing popular series weekly, and that can also lead to quality drop.

Other than that, I also like that because it is a webcomic, there is more freedom for new artists to be discovered. Gatekeeped stuff can get boring after a while.

4 cut hero

this escalated quickly

What do you think of unOrdinary's season finale?

solo leveling is really good but I haven't read anything other than that that was even close to passable

Check out peerless dad

what about Manhua?
I kind of liked the second story of Remember, don’t know about Orange though
(both are made by benjamin zhang bin)

>has dad in the name
as a barafag, I appreciate this recommendation.

Has anyone heard anything about The Dungeon Master's artist? He had to perform his mandatory military service and the series came to a halt as a result, which isn't a highly uncommon thing, but it's been a while since the last update. I'm glad that they finished the arc with the frog people (pales in comparison to the previous arc but still good), but it'd be nice if it'd continue.

Terrible. I miss when Yea Forums banned these threads.

fuck off

Yeah god forbid we have actual discussion and not endless shonen generals for once

These threads are becoming too common.
They waste space. Too much white.

That's due to the Webtoons format where it's designed to vertically scroll. Rarely you'll have some artists that actually take advantage of the format, and anything not published on their website (The Breakers, King of Hell, Witch Hunter, etc) don't do this at all since they're published on paper.

Absolute dogshit
They truly have no soul

Knight Run. The battles make little sense, but the plot is Ok and the characters are pretty cool. The end of the two main arcs will destroy you, though.

>tfw heard tower of god gets really good
>can't get through the early chapters because of how bad the art is

I like Hardcore Leveling Warrior.
