Watch the dub then
No Japanese voices = no problem
>good enough to notice how wrong the subs are often
Sure you are.
>good enough to notice how wrong the subs
Same. I've been watching anime for over 15 years. Itadakimasu and tadaima? EASY.
>tfw good enough at Japanese to read raw manga but not good enough to watch anime
I wish Japanese subs get uploaded to nyaa too.
>tfw good enough at Japanese to feel good but not good enough to tell anyone how high my ability is because can’t understand every little thing
I also now lack the motivation to study. /djt/ was fun, but I don’t even read VN anymore. Anime is also full of otaku terms that learning Japanese doesn’t help with raws anyways. Watching raws is also really weird since there’s no subs to fixate your eyes on so you’re off looking around at everything.
Watch VOICEROID videos. They all have subs.

This. Subs actually add to the experience even if you don't need them because they distract you from the solid 10 seconds of nothing interesting happening besides flapping mouths.
you're supposed to use that time to think about the story and characters
>tfw only at newborn levels of understanding and only can recognise 1 word every couple of sentences and the only time i can not look at the sub is if they say common phrases
