Next spin off will be the heartbreaking spin off of each person who took care of Index in the past. Each Arc will be about a different person who take care of Index till her memory are destroy each year.

From what I've seen and can put together, it does make a lot of sense for Kakine's loss to be more metaphorical than an actual death. Usually the old "they became a stranger to me, and I could do nothing to help them" trope is drugs, gangs, or some other dark path like that. But AC is a pretty fucked up place. Throw in supernatural powers and awful experiments, I imagine that there could be a number of ways that Kakine watch his loved one become a totally different and unrecognizable person (but still be alive) without drugs, gangs, or things like that.

Kakine's precious person doesn't have to be Accelerator, but if we're going the route of "yeah, they aren't the person I cared so much for anymore" for Kakine's loss, it being Accelerator would make sense and would rub a lot of salt in Kakine's wounds.

Imagine caring a lot for this cute kid, try your best to save him from awful shit, fail at it despite being insanely strong, and THEN the only way to prevent other innocent kids from going through similar things is killing the now-unrecognizable person you once cared for...

So, I just read Astral Buddy. It was fun and Junko's pretty cool, but isn't this series like a huge retcon? Misaki and Junko weren't nearly as close and friendly in Index and Railgun as far as I can remember. Mind you, Junko only showed up a few times, but still it was clear she was just an underling to Misaki.

I heard the original concept for Astral Buddy didn't include Misaki and maybe it would have been for the better, if only to keep things consistent.

The difference is you aren't using the kids as bait hoping it'll get them while you run away. You also aren't using the kids to antagonize and threaten the bear. In fact you probably have no idea the bear will cross your path in your scenario. A bear happening on your camp and attacking the kids is not something you can forsee. Now, if you were to know without a doubt a bear is in the area but decide it's safe enough and still let kids sleep there even though you had safer options, then yeah, you're a shitty person

Eg While she could technically stick her hand on a burning stove and maintain it's temperature, she'd get burned and/or overheat herself while doing it. The same applies to extreme cold.

Yes, if you go into a forest, there's probably a bear somewhere in it. And you have a non zero chance of running into that bear. Replace bear and forest with outside and murderer or whatever example you like.

You are right in that going into the forest is somewhat dangerous no matter what, and that it applies to everything. Breathing, eating, sleeping, walking ect ect.

However, if you are walking in the forest with kids and see a fresh pile of bear shit that tells you a bear is in the area and you set up your camp in that area ANYWAY after you know the mild danger that was there by default has drastically increased, you're a shitty, irresponsible person

There is no "bear shit" to notice, the entire point is that Misaki doesnt think she'll do it, and user's point was that because she can't 100% guarantee it, she's a shitty person.
